On that day, the husband of that noblewoman-Yale, was dismissed.
It was an order from the superiors, with only four words as the reason: "abuse of power."
And Deanna was completely unaware of this.
The superiors demanded sternly that Yale pack up immediately and leave the Education Bureau.
Yale returned home with a pile of documents, his face full of despair.
He pushed the door open, and his wife was sitting on the sofa watching TV. She was the noblewoman who had gone to the kindergarten.
Seeing her husband carrying so many things, she quickly came up to help.
"What's going on with you?"
She put those things on the table and asked curiously.
Yale answered with a bitter face, "Don't ask, I've been fired."
He was extremely frustrated. He hadn't done anything wrong, so why was he suddenly fired?
The noblewoman was shocked, completely stunned.
She nervously asked, "What happened? What mistake did you make?"
Yale replied with grievance, "I want to know too! They said it was an abuse of power, but I didn't do anything. It seems like I offended the wrong person."
The noblewoman's face changed drastically, full of panic.
Could it be that her husband was implicated by what happened this morning?
That shouldn't be!
Yale saw through it at a glance and asked her, "What's wrong, do you know something?"
The noblewoman, upon hearing this, sat on the sofa and lowered her head somewhat guiltily.
She spoke in a thin voice, like a mosquito's hum.
"I asked Harlan to trouble two classmates of theirs, and then Harlan got beaten up. I went to the kindergarten and falsely accused that child, and even bribed the teacher. As a result, the parents of the students reported to the police, and the teacher was fired too."
She sneered. She hadn't expected things to develop like this.
"Perhaps, those two children have someone behind them."
Yale's expression changed upon hearing this. "Why did you do this? You're just causing trouble for me!"
The noblewoman dared not look at him, and said with her head down, "I took a favor from Mr. Howard's son. He asked me to do this."
Mr. Howard's reward was quite generous, and she was tempted for a moment, which led her to act foolishly.
After hearing this, Yale's face turned livid.
This conflict between the powerful ended up making him the scapegoat!
He angrily pointed his finger and jabbed at the noblewoman's head.
She exclaimed in pain but didn't dare to argue back.
Yale angrily scolded, "You're as stupid as a pig! Don't you know who's behind this attack on me? It's Mercer Group! You're really out of your mind to mess with people from Mercer Group!"
Mercer Group was not someone they could afford to offend.
The noblewoman turned pale upon hearing this, her eyes teary.
She said with despair, "It's over, it's over, our family is finished..."
As she spoke, she started crying softly.
"What's the use of crying, it's all because of your deeds!"
Yale was annoyed by her noise and pushed her away.
He wished he could just kill her right now.
The noblewoman fell to the ground, holding her arm and sobbing softly.
She felt guilty and aggrieved.
She didn't know that Mr. Howard's son would set her up like this. She thought she had gained a great advantage!
Yale cursed, "This Raphael is truly ruthless!"
Why should he bear the consequences of the feud between Howard Group and Mercer Group!
Right now, they couldn't afford to offend Mercer Group anymore.
He calmed down and took out his phone to make a call to his former boss.
"It's me, Yale! I'm really sorry, we didn't mean to cause trouble. My wife was just incited by someone to do this! I hope you can help me and put in a good word for the Mercer family."
He smiled apologetically, hoping there was still room for maneuvering in this situation.
Xavier received the call and then informed Lance.
"Sir, this matter is being manipulated by someone from the Howard family."
Xavier nodded calmly.
Lance narrowed his eyes upon hearing this.
He pondered for a moment before speaking with a mysterious tone, "Is it Raphael?"
Xavier nodded, "Yes."
He clicked his tongue twice, then sighed, "Dr. Deanna is also miserable. She was abandoned by him back then and now she's being manipulated by him again. He's really ruthless, not sparing even the two children. Aren't they going too far!"
He found Raphael quite remarkable, to be so cruel to his former lover, it was a marvel.
But he matched well with Emily.
If Garrett could sell his daughter for money, Raphael could sacrifice emotions for interests.
It was true that blood was thicker than water.
Lance didn't say anything upon hearing this, but his brows furrowed tightly.
Indeed, it was the Howard family again!
The next day, Deanna went to wake up Chloe and Gregory, but they kept dawdling, unwilling to get out of bed.
Deanna asked, "What's wrong with you two?"
"Mama, I don't want to go to school. I'm afraid something like yesterday will happen again."
Chloe pouted, tears welling up in her big eyes.
She was afraid of being beaten again and of her brother being expelled because of her.
Gregory didn't say anything, but he looked downcast, obviously resistant to going to kindergarten.
Deanna knew that what happened yesterday had left them traumatized.
She sighed, "If you don't want to go, then don't."
Then she left their room.
She hadn't even called in sick yet, but the principal called again.
The principal's voice sounded very respectful.
"Miss Jones? I'm the principal, we met yesterday. I'm really sorry about what happened yesterday. I promise, such things won't happen again in the future."
