Chapter 737: Finding You a Manager

"Why are you here?" Deanna asked in surprise.

Lance placed the food box on the desk and glanced at the unfinished documents in front of Deanna. He frowned and said, "Still not done?"

"Almost. The company's tech department is planning a new project. You know me, I don't really understand these data, so I have to take my time," Deanna said, a bit dejected.

Every time she struggled with these data, she wondered if she was cut out for business. Lance had taken over the company halfway through and managed everything smoothly, while she stumbled along. Sometimes, she even thought all her talent was in pharmaceuticals.

Lance didn't know Deanna was thinking so much at that moment, but he somewhat understood her feelings.

"Let's eat first. We can talk about the company's issues after dinner," he said, putting away the documents and taking out the food from the box.

Deanna was indeed hungry. She smiled sweetly at the considerate man in front of her and started eating.

Lance watched her eat with relish for a while before shifting his gaze to the documents beside him. He reached out for them.

"What's wrong?" Deanna asked, noticing his actions.

Lance looked at her puzzled eyes and smiled gently. "Nothing, I'll help you with these documents."

Deanna didn't stop him. She watched as he took the documents to the sofa and quickened her pace to finish eating.

A few minutes later, she finished her meal, put down her bowl and chopsticks, and quietly walked to the sofa. She didn't want to disturb Lance, but he noticed her as soon as she approached.

"Finished eating?" Lance paused his work and looked up.

Deanna nodded but kept her eyes on the documents Lance was reviewing. She frowned and asked, "Why did you agree to this trial plan when there's such a big difference between this data and market data?"

She pointed to a spot on the document, puzzled.

Lance glanced at where she pointed and smiled wryly. "Remember what I told you about market data?"

"Yes, add two percent to the data because market data is fluid and one-sided," Deanna recited Lance's method.

Lance nodded and continued, "Look at this data with an additional two percent. The gap narrows, right? This project is new to the market. Everyone has a curiosity about new things. So if we adjust this data upwards, doesn't it meet the conditions for a trial?"

"You're right. I was thinking too narrowly!" Deanna said, enlightened by Lance's explanation.

She scratched her head and smiled sheepishly at Lance.

Lance shook his head with a smile and sighed. "I think you're really not suited for managing a company. How about this: I'll find you a manager to help run the company. You only need to make major decisions. This way, you can focus more on your research when the lab is established."

Deanna knew Lance was considering her well-being but couldn't help frowning in thought. It wasn't that she didn't trust Lance; she just felt uneasy. Garrett was still eyeing the company. If he found out she hired a manager...

"Is this manager reliable? They won't be bribed, right?" Deanna voiced her concern.

Lance chuckled. "Don't worry about that. The person I'll find for you will be trustworthy. Also, hiring these people isn't cheap-ten percent of the company's profits. With such high pay, their requirements are stringent. If they get caught doing anything shady, they'll be blacklisted from the industry and face legal consequences, becoming economic criminals with sentences starting at ten years."

Lance explained seriously, seeing that Deanna didn't fully understand the nature of a manager.

After hearing this, Deanna felt like this manager role was tailor-made for her.

"Then please find me a manager. You have no idea how exhausted I've been running back and forth these past few days," she said, hugging Lance playfully.

Lance looked at Deanna's sudden change in attitude with affection in his eyes but agreed nonetheless. "Finding a manager might take a few days. In the meantime, focus on your research lab. I'll handle the company's matters."

"Really? That's great! Thank you, my fiancé!" Deanna exclaimed joyfully, hugging Lance tightly.
