After a tour, the group arrived at the office of the research institute.
Ollie invited Lance and Deanna to sit down.
After serving them tea, he asked, "Deanna, are you satisfied with this research institute?"
"I am quite satisfied. What is your asking price?" Deanna asked in a businesslike manner.
Then, as if she remembered something, she added, "Let's keep business and personal matters separate, shall we?"
Ollie was taken aback and instinctively looked at Lance.
Lance nodded slightly, "Don't look at me. Deanna is handling this. I'm not to interfere. You two discuss it."
Hearing this, Ollie turned his attention back to Deanna, feeling more respectful towards her.
"Deanna, since you put it that way, I'll give you a fair price. You give me this amount," he said, showing eight fingers.
Deanna's eyebrows twitched as she tested, "Eighty million?"
"Eighty million? This small place isn't worth that much," Ollie was startled by her offer.
He waved his hand and continued, "I meant eight million, which includes the cost of the equipment. Lance should have told you that you need to handle the equipment yourself."
"He did mention that," Deanna nodded, satisfied with the price.
She knew Ollie was giving her a discount. The land alone in this outer ring area was expensive, not to mention the equipment inside, which was worth five to six million.
Thinking of this, Deanna said seriously, "I know you're giving me a big discount. How about this? I can't come up with eighty million, but I can do ten million. Do you agree to this price?"
Both Ollie and Lance were momentarily stunned.
Clearly, neither expected Deanna to say that.
Ollie looked at Lance again.
Lance smiled, "I told you, I'm listening to Deanna on this."
Hearing this, Ollie laughed heartily, "Since you're willing to give me extra pocket money, I won't refuse. When would you like to handle the transfer?"
"Anytime that's convenient for you," Deanna replied with a smile.
Ollie nodded, "Give me two days to get the paperwork done. I'll send it to your company so you don't have to make another trip."
Deanna had no objections.
She then mentioned that she needed to renovate the research institute and asked, "Can I bring a design team over in the next two days to see how to remodel the place? And I also want to move the equipment out."
"Of course! Feel free," Ollie responded generously.
Deanna nodded and thanked him.
Later, around noon, the group had lunch together before parting ways.
Back at the company, Deanna checked the time and called her master.
"Master, I've chosen the location for the research institute, but it needs some renovations."
"That's fine. You handle the renovations," her master gave her full authority.
Deanna acknowledged and then asked, "For the precision instruments needed for experiments, should I prepare a shopping list or will you purchase them from abroad and have them shipped over?"
"I forgot about that. Some instruments aren't available domestically. I'll buy those from abroad. You handle the rest," her master arranged simply.
Deanna nodded. After a few more words, they ended the call.
Later, Deanna received a message from her master listing the instruments she needed to purchase.
She glanced at it and called Sabrina over, instructing her, "Find an agency and buy all these instruments."
"Got it," Sabrina nodded and left to handle it.
Watching Sabrina leave, Deanna finally felt a weight lifted off her shoulders.
She felt pressured because she wanted to do well on what her master entrusted her with.
Especially since her master trusted her so much, giving her significant power and resources. She didn't want to let him down.
However, this also meant she had been neglecting her company duties and had been working overtime for the past two days.
That night, Lance learned that Deanna was working late again and frowned.
He picked up their two kids from school and had the butler pack some food to bring to Deanna.
When he arrived at the company, only Deanna was left in the office.
Seeing her petite figure at the large desk with an unmistakable look of fatigue on her face, Lance felt a pang of heartache.
He watched for a few seconds before knocking on the office door.
Hearing the sound, Deanna looked up from her files and was surprised to see Lance walking towards her.
