Lance laughed in anger after hearing what these people said.
"So, according to you, I should be grateful that you only scared her?"
He spoke through gritted teeth, his gaze sharp enough to cut through them.
Mack and the others, either blocked or frightened, shrank their heads and dared not speak.
Seeing this, Lance lost his patience and ordered coldly, "Take them away."
Xavier nodded in acknowledgment and waved to the black-clad bodyguards holding Mack and the others.
Soon, the group dispersed.
Lance was about to leave when Mr. Galloway called out to him.
With a forced smile, Mr. Galloway approached to confirm once more, "That information, Mr. Mercer..."
Although he didn't finish his sentence, Lance understood.
Lance glanced at him coldly and said indifferently, "Don't worry, I won't report you."
Leaving those words behind, he strode away.
Xavier followed closely behind.
Once in the elevator, Xavier couldn't help but ask, "Mr. Mercer, are we just letting that company go?"
"I said I wouldn't report them, but that doesn't mean others won't. Leak that information to their competitors without leaving any traces."
After Lance finished speaking, a cold glint appeared in his eyes.
Anyone who dared to insult his beloved would pay the price!
That evening, Lance returned to Cloudmere in a hurry.
As soon as he got off the plane, Xavier came to inquire, "Mr. Mercer, how should we handle those people?"
"Send them to the police station. Tell them that if they confess honestly, I might consider asking the judge for leniency."
"Understood."
Xavier nodded and turned to make arrangements.
Lance then took a car back to the estate.
As soon as he got out of the car, he heard laughter coming from the garden.
Following the sound, Lance found Deanna playing with the two little ones in the garden.
Seeing the bright smiles on their faces, Lance felt the gloom of the past two days dissipate significantly.
Such a happy scene was something he would never allow anyone to destroy!
As Lance watched intently, the two little ones noticed him.
"Hey, it's Daddy!"
"Daddy, you're back!"
The two little ones shouted in surprise as they ran towards Lance.
Lance responded with a smile, then bent down and picked up each child in one arm before walking towards Deanna.
Seeing the father and children approaching slowly, Deanna's face lit up with happiness.
"When did you get back? Why didn't you tell me in advance?"
"I wanted to surprise you."
Lance looked at Deanna tenderly, then put down the two children and naturally took Deanna's hand. "Was everything normal at home while I was away?"
Deanna gave him a sweet smile and said, "Don't worry, everything was fine. But you, coming back at this hour, have you had dinner?"
"I had some airplane food. Now I feel like having your pasta with tomato sauce. Would you be willing to make it for me?"
Lance whispered in her ear.
Feeling the warm breath by her ear, Deanna blushed slightly and glared at him shyly. "The kids are here; mind your image!"
"Daddy and Mommy don't need to worry about us; we didn't see anything."
The two little ones covered their eyes with a giggle, though their fingers left wide gaps.
Deanna rolled her eyes at them playfully and then freed herself from Lance's hand. "You take care of Gregory and Chloe; I'll go make something for you."
Later that night, after finishing their late-night snack and playing in the living room for a while, the family went to their rooms to rest.
Deanna kindly prepared a bath for Lance. When she came out of the bathroom, she saw the tired look on his face under the light.
"After your bath, I'll give you a treatment. You've been running around these past few days; you must be exhausted."
"Thank you."
Lance pulled her into his arms and nuzzled her neck affectionately.
Deanna smiled softly and patted his hand. "Go take your bath."
Hearing this, Lance let go of Deanna and went into the bathroom with his robe.
After nearly half an hour of cleaning up, they began the treatment.
Lance lay on his stomach on the bed while Deanna worked on him. Suddenly he said, "I've found out who scratched your car and threatened you with a dead cat."
Upon hearing this, Deanna's hand paused briefly before resuming its normal pace.
"So you went to Vlover because of this?"
She quickly deduced Lance's true purpose for his trip based on his recent absence.
Lance didn't deny it. "I didn't mean to hide it from you; I just didn't want you to worry."
Deanna pursed her lips. Though she didn't agree with his words, she understood his intentions were good. She sighed and said earnestly, "I know you didn't want me to worry. But since we will be husband and wife in the future, I hope my partner won't hide anything from me. Whether it's good or bad news, I want us to face it together."
