Chapter 61 Escape Plan

Gregory spoke confidently, and Garrett's anger flared up instantly.

"Who are you calling a bad woman? That's your aunt! I'm also your nominal grandfather! Dare you say we're not good people? Is this how your mother taught you? Truly uncultured!"

He ranted angrily, lumping Deanna in with it.

One after another, they just caused trouble for him!

To have such blood in the Jones family, it's really unfortunate!

At this moment, Chloe also revealed herself and spoke up, "My mommy says manners are for dealing with people, but not necessary for dealing with beasts and dogs!"

The little girl's voice was clear and pleasant.

Some of the fear in her eyes faded, replaced by anger.

This bad man dared to insult her mommy!

Garrett's anger flared even more, how could this worthless little girl dare to insult him? She truly didn't put him in her eyes!

He glared at Chloe, cursing loudly, "Who are you calling a beast? Speaking ill at such a young age. Since your mother can't teach you well, I don't mind teaching you a lesson on her behalf!"

With that said, he raised his hand, about to strike Chloe.

Gregory immediately shouted, "Dare you touch my sister and see what happens!"

His eyes widened fiercely, his expression fierce, hands outstretched to protect Chloe behind him.

Garrett was stopped in his tracks by the shout, his momentum inexplicably weakened.

After a moment, he angrily put down his hand, then warned them, "If you don't want to be disciplined, then shut up! Otherwise, I can't guarantee what I might do."

With that, he snorted coldly, ignoring them and turning his head to look out the window.

He came today to get Deanna to spare Emily.

As for these two wild seeds, why bother arguing with them?

Hitting them would dirty his hands.

Chloe was frightened, her body trembling slightly.

Gregory comforted her by patting her back, his eyes cold.

This so-called grandfather was truly annoying!

He remained calm, silently plotting.

He couldn't let mommy be threatened. He had to find a way to escape.

Thinking this, the little guy immediately signaled to his sister.

The siblings were twins, having grown up together, they were attuned to each other.

Chloe was very clever and immediately understood her brother's intention.

She blinked curiously, silently asking what to do.

Gregory glanced at Garrett and, when he wasn't paying attention, gestured to Chloe.

He indicated: get off the car and run.

Chloe nodded, her big eyes shining.

Soon, the car arrived at the parking lot near the restaurant.

Garrett opened the door, got out first, and ordered the two kids, "Get off."

Carrying their small backpacks, Chloe and Gregory got out of the car one after another.

As soon as Gregory's feet touched the ground, he looked ahead and shouted, "Mommy's here!"

Garrett subconsciously looked over but didn't see Deanna. However, out of the corner of his eye, he saw the two kids suddenly darting backwards.

Both he and the driver were stunned for a moment. The next second, he yelled, "Stop!"

How could the two little ones listen?

They rushed off faster, leaving dust in their wake.

"Mr. Jones, what do we do?" The driver looked at Garrett with concern. If something happened to the kids, he would be held responsible too.

"Quick, drive and catch up with them!"

Garrett was also furious. He had been taken advantage of!

This area was a bustling commercial district, densely populated.

At this time, it was peak hours for dinner, and everywhere was crowded.

Chloe and Gregory moved through the crowd like fish, agile in their movements.

Garrett and the driver chased after them, but with so many people, their car couldn't move fast, and it was inconvenient everywhere.

For a while, they couldn't do anything about the two kids.

"Mr. Jones, where are they?"

Dizzy from the chaos, the driver couldn't pinpoint their location.

Garrett, sharp-eyed, recognized the badge on Chloe's head. "There they are, turn left!"

The two kids had been running for a while and were starting to tire.

Gregory kept looking back, his face anxious, sweat beading on his forehead.

He shouted to his sister, "Run faster! Don't let them catch you!"

He gritted his teeth, dragging his body to keep running.

Chloe was almost out of strength, panting heavily. "Brother, I... I can't run anymore!"

Her legs felt like they were filled with lead, heavy and sore.

Gregory held her hand, urging her to run.

"Ah!"

Chloe accidentally fell to the ground, tears streaming down her face from the pain.

Her shin was scraped, blood oozing from the wound.

"Get up quickly!"

Gregory anxiously pulled her up, looking back, Garrett's car was getting closer.

Chloe, teary-eyed, said, "I can't do it anymore, brother, you run!"

Gregory shook his head firmly. He absolutely couldn't leave her behind!

Seeing the car about to catch up, he made a snap decision, grabbing the leg of a passerby, shouting loudly for help, "Help, there are bad people chasing us, kind person, please save us!"

"What's wrong, kids?"

The passerby bent down, asking with concern.

People around also gathered, curious to see what was happening.

"At last, they found us!"

Garrett and the driver pushed through the crowd and approached.

Garrett gritted his teeth, pointing at them, "They can run pretty well!"

He grabbed Gregory's collar, about to drag him away, while the driver moved to grab Chloe.

Gregory immediately shouted for help, "Help, they're the ones chasing us, they're bad people!"

A young man frowned, stepping forward to block them, "What are you trying to do?"
