Chapter 572: All I Want is for Leticia to Receive Her Due Punishment

"Stop talking," Ernest warned with a stern look.

Mrs. Walsh bit her lower lip, unwilling to give up, "Are we just going to ignore what Leticia has done?"

"It's not that we're ignoring it; it's that we simply can't do anything about it. Look at what Leticia has done. Come on, let's go outside," Ernest said, pulling his wife out of the hospital room to prevent her from saying anything rash.

Their actions did not go unnoticed by others.

Old Walsh actually agreed with their departure. He knew well what kind of person his daughter-in-law was and feared she might say something regrettable if she stayed.

Thinking this, he also made his excuses and left.

Meanwhile, Hassan remained in the hospital room.

Lance squinted his eyes and asked coldly, "Is there something else?"

Ignoring him, Hassan looked remorsefully at Deanna. "Miss Jones, I apologize on behalf of my cousin for what she has done," he said, bowing slightly to Deanna.

Deanna shifted to the side, not accepting his apology. "Mr. Hassan, you don't need to apologize to me. After all, you weren't the one who did wrong. Moreover, I don't need your apologies. I just want her, Leticia, to receive the punishment she deserves."

"That's only right; my cousin should pay for her mistakes," Hassan agreed, nodding.

In the hallway, Mrs. Walsh saw Old Walsh coming out and hurried over, "Dad, are you really going to abandon Leticia?"

"What can I do?" Old Walsh lifted his eyelids and looked at her coldly, disappointment deep in his eyes.

Mrs. Walsh, perhaps too worried about her daughter, blurted out her thoughts without seeing his reaction. "No matter what, we can't let Leticia go to jail. It would ruin her life. Maybe you could speak to Dr. Deanna and Mr. Mercer, suggest we send Leticia abroad and never let her return."

"And then what? You intercept her halfway through?" Old Walsh snapped back.

Talking about this made him even angrier.

He glared at Mrs. Walsh and scolded, "Look at the mess you've made. If it weren't for your deceitful ways behind my back keeping Leticia here, none of this would have happened. And now you have the nerve to ask for my help? Did you not see Mr. Mercer and Dr. Deanna's attitude earlier? Do you really think anyone will do me a favor for my sake?"

Mrs. Walsh looked ashamed, her head bowed like a child who had done wrong.

Just then, Hassan came out of the hospital room.

Old Walsh saw him and immediately turned his concern towards him, forgetting to lecture Mrs. Walsh.

"How did it go? What did Mr. Mercer and Dr. Deanna say?"

Before entering the hospital room, Old Walsh, knowing that Hassan had a good relationship with Deanna, had asked him to gauge whether this incident would affect the Walsh Group.

Hassan shook his head, "I didn't bring it up, but from Mr. Mercer and Miss Jones' tone, as long as we don't interfere with my cousin's matter, they probably won't take action against the Walsh Group."

Hearing this, Old Walsh fell silent. Mrs. Walsh became anxious.

"Dad, are you really going to give up on Leticia? Ernest and I only have one daughter; you can't be so heartless!"

By the end of her plea, she couldn't help but cry.

Old Walsh was annoyed by her noise and shouted, "What are you fussing about? Wasn't I clear enough earlier? You're worried now; did you listen when I told you to discipline Leticia properly before? Now that there's trouble, you remember she's your only daughter. What were you doing earlier? Do you expect me to sacrifice our entire Walsh family for your incompetent daughter?"

"The problem is that even sacrificing our entire Walsh family might not be enough to sway Mr. Mercer," Hassan added quietly.

This comment made Old Walsh's expression even grimmer.

Seeing this, Ernest frowned at Hassan and admonished, "Don't speak out of turn."

After speaking, he pulled his wife aside and warned, "You too should speak less."

Just then, Xavier approached and gestured for them to follow him.

"Mr. Mercer has requested that if you wish to argue, please do so outside; don't disturb the patient here."

Upon hearing this, Old Walsh's face darkened further.

It was his first time being driven out like this; it left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Yet, he could say nothing but force a smile and apologize, "Sorry, we'll leave now."

With that said, he signaled the others to follow him out.

As they left, two young ones and Old Ashley arrived.

Entering the hospital room, Old Ashley saw her granddaughter lying on the bed with a pale face and bandages still on. Her heart ached terribly.

She looked at Deanna with concern and asked several questions in quick succession, "How did you get hurt so badly? And on your face too; what did the doctors say? Will there be scars?"

Deanna, worried that the heated emotions outside might affect her physically, quickly took her grandmother's hand and gently reassured her.

"Grandma, don't worry. I'm not in much trouble now. As for the injury on my face, the doctor said that as long as I keep it dry and apply medication properly, there's a small chance of scarring."
