"Not bad, I gave my first treatment today. I'll see how the patient respond to my treatment tomorrow."
Deanna didn't hide anything and truthfully shared the situation.
Even if she didn't say it, she knew this man would definitely ask Old Hughes.
Thus, the two of them started chatting casually.
The unease in Deanna's heart gradually dissipated during the conversation.
She didn't know how much time had passed when there was a knock on the door, followed by Old Hughes' voice.
"Deanna, I'm coming in."
As he spoke, Old Hughes had already pushed the door open and entered.
Seeing this, Deanna hurriedly said to Lance on the phone, "Old Hughes is here to see me. He probably has something to discuss. I'll talk to you later."
With that, she hung up the phone.
Old Hughes saw her action, blinked, and smiled, "Were you talking to Lance?"
Deanna held her phone and nodded lightly with her lips pressed together.
Then she changed the subject and asked, "Is there something you need, Old Hughes?"
"Not really, I just wanted to ask if you would like to check on Old Walsh and see if he needs treatment this afternoon."
Old Hughes explained his purpose.
Deanna agreed, "We should indeed check on him. As for treatment, it's not necessary for now."
A few minutes later, they arrived at Old Walsh's room.
As soon as they entered, Deanna noticed Hassan was also there.
"Dr. Deanna, Old Hughes, you're here."
Hassan greeted them with a smile.
Deanna and Old Hughes greeted the grandfather and grandson in return.
After a brief exchange of pleasantries, Deanna began her diagnosis.
Hassan watched her serious expression, finding it very charming and hard to look away from.
After a moment, Deanna finished the diagnosis and breathed a sigh of relief, "The situation is quite good. Old Walsh's inflammation is under control, and there's no further pus in the liver. One more dose of medicine tonight should suffice."
Hearing this, Hassan felt relieved.
Old Walsh also smiled and praised Old Hughes, "The young girl is quite capable. I've been sick for almost half a year with no effective treatment until she came along. She gave me a few acupuncture treatments which made me uncomfortable, but afterward, I felt I could never be so relaxed."
"Of course, do you think I'd find just anyone?"
Old Hughes spoke proudly, praising Deanna highly.
Deanna felt embarrassed listening to this beside them, her cheeks turning red. She shyly said, "Please don't praise me so much. If you keep doing this, I might start feeling like a deity."
"We're not praising you; we're stating facts. Your acupuncture skills are truly impressive."
Old Hughes looked at her appreciatively.
Old Walsh nodded in agreement, "Old Hughes is right. Dr. Deanna's acupuncture skills are among the best in the country."
Feeling overwhelmed by their compliments, Deanna felt it was best to leave.
"Since Old Walsh is fine, I'll take a walk outside."
She said and made a move to leave.
Seeing this, Hassan quickly stood up and said, "I'll accompany Miss Jones for a walk around."
Deanna was about to refuse when Old Walsh's cheerful voice interrupted her.
"That's good. Hassan, make sure to take good care of Dr. Deanna and show her around Jando City."
"Yes, Grandpa."
Hassan nodded and then gestured for Deanna to go first.
Seeing this, Deanna couldn't refuse and followed him out.
After going downstairs, she looked at the man beside her and politely declined, "Mr. Hassan, you must have your own matters to attend to. You don't need to accompany me. I'll just walk around nearby."
"That won't do. Miss Jones came all this way to treat my grandfather. Even if I'm busy, I must take good care of you."
Hassan immediately rejected Deanna's words without thinking.
He paused for a moment and continued, "Besides, I don't have anything urgent. It's also my grandfather's order. Miss Jones is so kind; you wouldn't want to see me get scolded by my grandfather, right?"
At the end of his speech, he made a pitiful expression.
Seeing this, Deanna couldn't refuse again and reluctantly accepted.
Just as they were about to set off, Leticia appeared out of nowhere.
She looked at them and asked, "Hassan, Dr. Deanna, where are you planning to go?"
"Grandpa asked me to show Miss Jones around the city. Do you want to join?" Hassan asked out of politeness.
He thought his cousin didn't like Deanna and wouldn't come along.
Unexpectedly, Leticia agreed.
"Sure, I haven't gone shopping in a while. I'll join you."
She said and quickly got into the car parked at the door ahead of them.
Seeing this, Hassan frowned slightly, wondering what his cousin was up to this time.
Thinking about it, he apologized to Deanna beside him, "I didn't expect her to agree. I hope you don't mind."
"No problem. As long as she doesn't bother me. I don't wish her to give me a hard time for the third time," Deanna spoke calmly.
To be honest, she didn't have a good impression of this Walsh family young lady.
