Chapter 295: When Will You Finally Catch Up to Mommy?

Unexpectedly, as soon as Deanna finished speaking, she heard her son eagerly agreeing.

"If I have a language teacher, I can learn more languages in the future and read more books. Thank you, Uncle Lance."

Gregory looked at Lance with joy.

Lance, feeling supported by the child, looked at Deanna with a smug expression. His eyes seemed to say, "See, my suggestion was right. My son likes it."

Of course, Deanna didn't read too much into it, but she did notice the man's proud look and found it amusing.

The group continued to tour the museum, admiring the artifacts.

Lance occasionally acted as a tour guide. His magnetic voice, combined with its rhythm and intonation, captivated Deanna and her children.

By the end of the tour, they were all left wanting more.

Deanna, feeling impressed, exclaimed, "Mr. Mercer, you are truly knowledgeable and talented. I am amazed."

Although the museum had many artifact descriptions, Lance could tell many historical anecdotes, which was beyond what an average person could do.

The two kids agreed wholeheartedly.

They looked at Lance with admiration, smiling and saying, "Uncle, you are amazing. I want to be as amazing as you in the future."

Lance couldn't help but laugh but also encouraged the kids.

"Then you have to work hard."

"Uh-huh."

The kids nodded earnestly.

Afterward, they walked around the area before returning to the hotel for lunch and a short rest.

During the meal, Deanna took care of the two kids.

The hotel's food was quite good, and the two kids ate with great appetite, their mouths greasy.

Lance noticed Deanna was so busy taking care of the kids that she hardly ate herself. His eyes flickered slightly.

He picked up a piece of fish, carefully removing the bones, and placed it in her bowl.

Then he began peeling shrimp.

Soon, the white porcelain bowl was filled with deboned fish and peeled shrimp.

Lance pushed the bowl towards Deanna, his voice gentle, "Don't just look after the kids, eat something yourself."

Deanna was stunned for a moment, looking at the deboned fish and peeled shrimp in front of her. This was the first time a man had done this for her, and she felt a warmth in her heart.

"Thank you."

She looked up, smiling warmly at Lance.

Gregory and Chloe, seeing this, also smiled.

The little guy even playfully said, "Uncle, you're being biased, peeling shrimp only for Mommy and not for me and my sister. Does Uncle only love Mommy and not us?"

Deanna hadn't expected her son to say something so startling.

She choked on her food.

Seeing her choking and turning red, Lance quickly handed her a glass of water, "Take a sip of water and breathe deeply."

Deanna didn't hesitate and drank the water.

After a while, the burning sensation in her throat subsided.

Gregory, realizing he might have done something wrong, looked at her with concern.

"Mommy, are you okay?"

Looking at her son's hesitant expression, Deanna was both amused and exasperated. She finally couldn't help but tap his forehead, hoarsely scolding, "Don't say such things again, understand? It could cause misunderstandings."

"I understand."

Gregory pouted, reluctantly agreeing, but he was a little unhappy.

He thought he wasn't wrong.

Based on Uncle Lance's behavior, it was clear he liked Mommy.

Thinking this, he sneaked a glance at Lance.

His eyes were filled with a sorrowful look, as if asking when Uncle Lance would finally catch up to Mommy.

Although Lance didn't fully understand the meaning of the child's gaze, he could guess that the child was blaming him, finding it amusing yet helpless. "Alright, stop fooling around and eat well. We have plans for the afternoon."

As he spoke, he gently ruffled the child's hair before returning to his seat.

However, no one noticed that Lance did not refute Gregory's startling words.

Later, after finishing their meal, everyone went back to their rooms for a nap.

Since they were staying in a two-bedroom suite, Deanna put the kids to sleep before going to her room, but she couldn't sleep.

She wanted to read her medical notes but then realized she had left her handbag in the restaurant.

Feeling anxious, she hurried out, only to be surprised by the scene before her.

Not far down the hallway, Lance stood in his doorway wearing a bathrobe, exuding a lazy, noble charm that was hard to look away from.

Opposite him was a sexy blonde woman in a revealing outfit.

She flirted with Lance, saying, "Handsome, don't fool me. If you were really married, why would you and your wife sleep in separate rooms? And I clearly heard those kids calling you 'Uncle.' I like your look. Let's give it a try. You might really like my style."

With that, she reached out, attempting to cling to Lance.
