At Mercer Group, even though it was the weekend, Lance had to work overtime, and so did Xavier.
However, compared to Lance, Xavier wasn't too busy and had some free time to browse Facebook.
It was then that he saw a photo posted by Gregory on Facebook, which surprised him. He took his phone and went to the CEO's office.
"Mr. Mercer, take a look at this photo."
He handed the photo over.
When Lance saw the picture, his stern face darkened immediately.
In the photo, Deanna and Landon were with two children, looking like a happy family.
"Where did you get this photo?"
Lance asked in a deep voice, his face full of displeasure.
Xavier quickly explained, "I saw it on Facebook. It should have been posted by Dr. Deanna. Judging by the background, they seem to be at Jurassic Park."
Almost as soon as he finished speaking, Lance stood up with a dark expression.
"Cancel all my appointments for today."
He ordered while grabbing his car keys from the desk, ready to leave.
However, he stopped after taking a few steps.
He realized that it might not be appropriate to go there so abruptly.
Xavier looked at him in confusion, "Mr. Mercer?"
"Go find some trouble for the Sherman Group and separate Landon from them," Lance suddenly had an idea and instructed Xavier.
Xavier nodded and left the office.
Half an hour later, Landon received a call from his assistant.
Whatever the assistant said made Landon's face turn serious.
After hanging up the phone, he apologized to Deanna and the children, "Sorry, there's an urgent issue with a project at the company. I need to go handle it immediately."
"Is it serious?" Deanna asked with concern.
The children were also worried, "Can you handle it, Uncle?"
"Don't worry, I can."
After reassuring the children, Landon turned to Deanna, "I don't know the details yet. I need to go there to find out."
Hearing this, Deanna didn't ask further and urged him to leave.
Just as Landon left, Deanna received a call from Lance.
On the phone, Lance's voice was low, "You're outside."
"How do you know?"
Deanna was puzzled by his certainty.
"I saw it on Facebook," Lance said calmly.
"I didn't post anything..."
Before she could finish her sentence, Deanna realized something and chuckled, "It must have been Gregory. We're at Jurassic Park for an exhibition."
"I see. I'm nearby for a meeting and have nothing to do this afternoon. I'll come join you," Lance said, revealing the purpose of his call.
Deanna couldn't refuse but felt puzzled.
Why was this man always conveniently nearby?
Unable to figure it out, Deanna decided not to dwell on it.
They agreed on a meeting place and hung up the phone.
The children looked up eagerly and asked, "Mommy, is someone coming?"
"Mr. Mercer is coming. He said he's nearby for business and will join us for the exhibition this afternoon," Deanna explained honestly.
The children blinked and exchanged glances, seeing excitement in each other's eyes.
Brother, it seems Godmother's idea worked.
Chloe winked at Gregory.
Gregory winked back silently.
When Uncle Lance arrives, let's behave well.
Got it!
Chloe blinked again.
Deanna didn't notice their silent communication.
About half an hour later, Lance arrived.
His appearance immediately attracted attention since most people there were parents with children dressed casually. Lance, in his sharp suit, stood out.
However, he ignored the stares and walked straight to Deanna and the children, greeting them with a smile, "Dr. Deanna, Gregory, Chloe."
Deanna nodded in acknowledgment.
The children sweetly greeted him back.
"Uncle Lance, Mommy said you're going to play with us. Where are we going next?"
"Wherever you want to go," Lance replied indulgently.
Deanna smiled and said, "Before you came, they wanted to see the dinosaurs reanimated with AI."
"I heard there's a reanimated T-Rex that's very big and tall. Uncle, we want to see it," Gregory said expectantly.
Lance naturally wouldn't refuse.
So for the rest of the afternoon, he accompanied the children instead of Landon.
They visited every part of the exhibition and took many photos.
Before leaving, Lance bought two dinosaur models from the staff.
"Chloe, Gregory, these are for you."
He handed the models to the children.
The kids were overjoyed. "Thank you, Uncle!"
