The message had just been sent when Julia replied.
"Do you want Uncle Lance to be your daddy?"
"Of course we do!" The two little ones responded quickly.
Soon, Julia sent a voice message encouraging them, "If you want it, don't give up."
"But what if Mommy doesn't like Uncle Lance at all?" Gregory asked worriedly.
Julia reassured them, "How could your mommy not like him? Trust me, no one knows your mommy better than I do. She already likes him a bit, but she's slow to realize it. So listen to me."
"But Mommy won't let us do anything, and after this incident, she'll definitely be on guard against us. What can we do?" Chloe couldn't help but ask.
Julia smiled and said, "Then let your Uncle Lance take the initiative!"
Hearing this, the two little ones' eyes lit up.
It was indeed a good idea...
"Godmother, what should we do?"
"Ask your Uncle Landon for help. Arrange for him to take you to an exhibition or shopping, and bring your mommy along."
On the other end of the phone, Julia felt more confident about her plan and sent another voice message, "Tomorrow is the weekend. Let me see if I can get some exhibition tickets."
"Godmother, please check quickly."
The two little ones supported Julia's idea wholeheartedly.
Before long, Julia sent another message, "Gregory and Chloe, I got some exhibition tickets. You can execute the plan tonight."
After dropping the two little ones off at kindergarten, Deanna went to tend to the medicinal herbs left by her master, loosening the soil around them.
She spent the whole day there.
In the evening, she drove the old family van to pick up the two little ones.
When they got home, Chloe pitifully approached Deanna and said, "Mommy, there's an exhibition tomorrow. I want to go."
"I want to go too," Gregory chimed in.
Deanna looked at them suspiciously, "What are you two planning now?"
"We're not planning anything. We won't call Uncle Lance this time," Chloe quickly shook her head, knowing their mommy was suspicious.
Deanna looked at her and then at Gregory. In the end, she couldn't refuse them. "Alright, I'll trust you this time."
Hearing this, the two little ones smiled triumphantly.
Then Gregory tugged at Deanna's sleeve and said, "Mommy, can we ask Uncle Landon to go with us instead of Uncle Lance?"
Deanna, unaware of their scheming, agreed without hesitation. "Of course, you can invite your Uncle Landon."
"Great! We'll call Uncle Landon now."
The two little ones responded happily and bounced away.
Deanna watched them with amusement and relief.
She thought their obsession with Mr. Mercer wasn't that deep after all.
It seemed that reducing their contact with him might dispel their thoughts.
Meanwhile, the two little ones went to their room and called Landon on their smartwatch.
"Uncle, tomorrow is the weekend. Can you take us to an exhibition?"
"And our mommy is going too," Gregory added.
Landon found it amusing but agreed. "Since you're inviting me so warmly, how can I refuse? I'll pick you up tomorrow."
"We'll wait for you, Uncle. Drive safely," Chloe reminded him in her sweet voice, making Landon's heart melt.
He chatted and laughed with them for a while before hanging up.
After putting down the smartwatch, the two little ones exchanged a look and couldn't help but cover their mouths and giggle like little cunning foxes.
...
The next morning, before eight o'clock, Landon arrived to take Deanna and the kids to the exhibition.
The two little ones sat quietly in the car.
Julia had already given them tips on capturing some seemingly warm photos to post on social media.
Especially photos of Deanna and Landon together; they needed a few of those.
They remembered these instructions well.
After almost an hour's drive, they arrived at a Jurassic exhibition to see dinosaur fossils.
"Wow, such a big skeleton," Chloe and Gregory exclaimed as they saw the T-Rex skeleton at the entrance.
Deanna couldn't help but crane her neck to admire it.
Landon stood beside her; they made a striking pair.
Gregory captured this moment with his phone camera quickly.
Soon enough, he had a photo of just the two of them. But that wasn't enough for him.
He politely stopped a passerby and asked if they could take a family photo for them and then went to Deanna.
"Mommy, let's take a photo together here."
"Sure," Deanna agreed without much thought.
With that, Gregory got a photo that looked like a family portrait. He then posted it on Facebook along with the other photos he had taken earlier.
