Chapter 1259: The Legitimate Wife with a License

It was two hours later when they left the villa.

Deanna took a deep breath and looked at the man beside her. "Do you think I was too cruel?"

Just now, she had sent Eula to the most dangerous prison in the world, with instructions to torment her as long as she didn't die.

Lance saw Deanna's nervousness and unease. He walked over, held her hand, and said in a deep voice, "Although I can protect you for a lifetime, you are not a parasitic plant that can only survive by clinging to others. You are destined to become strong, and ruthless methods are necessary for your growth. So I don't think you were cruel; I worry that you weren't ruthless enough and might get hurt."

Hearing this, Deanna stared at Lance in a daze before breaking into a radiant smile.

"Then I will definitely become stronger. I'm already helping Master manage the Martinez family business!"

She lifted her chin proudly.

Lance loved seeing her like this and teased, "In that case, you have to look out for me in the future."

"Don't worry, I'll definitely look out for you. If anyone bullies you, just mention my name!"

After saying this, Deanna couldn't help but lean on Lance and laugh. "Did I just sound like a gang leader?"

Lance nodded. "Quite like one."

With that, they left the villa, laughing and joking.

Halfway there, Deanna received a call from Julia. "Deanna, where are you?"

"I'm out with Lance. What's up?"

Deanna asked, snuggling in Lance's arms with a smile.

Julia said, "Tomorrow is the wedding. I'm here to spend the last single moments with you. You have to come and keep me company. I've already ditched Lionel. If Mr. Mercer needs company, let him find Lionel. The two grooms can hang out together."

Hearing this, Deanna looked up at the man in front of her. Naturally, she wouldn't refuse her best friend.

"Alright, I'll ditch him and come find you. Give me the address."

"I'm waiting for you at the triumphal arch. Hurry up."

Julia hung up after saying that.

Deanna put down her phone and was about to tell Lance what had happened when she heard his voice.

"Ditch me?"

"Hehe, I was just saying."

Deanna smiled awkwardly and then kissed Lance on the cheek. "Julia wants me to keep her company. We have to separate tonight anyway, so I'll go be with her."

Although Lance enjoyed Deanna's kiss, he still looked a bit unhappy.

"Separating tonight is one thing. I don't want to separate now."

Just then, his phone rang.

Lance glanced at it; it was Ollie calling.

He answered, and Ollie's lively voice came through. "Lance, tomorrow is your big day. The guys want to celebrate with you today. We've booked a spot at the usual place. Come over this afternoon, and remember not to bring your fiancée. Tonight is for the guys."

The voice wasn't loud, but Deanna and Lance were close enough to hear every word clearly.

"Don't worry, I won't go. Have fun this afternoon but don't get too wild tonight. I need you all as my groomsmen tomorrow."

Deanna answered cheerfully on Lance's behalf.

Since Deanna didn't have many family members or friends on her side, Lance had arranged with his friends to act as her family on the wedding day to make sure she wouldn't feel lonely.

Ollie hadn't expected Deanna to be there and hear everything. He was so startled he almost stopped breathing. "D-Deanna, you're there too!"

"Yes, I'm here, but I'm not angry. Here, let Lance talk."

Deanna said as she signaled Lance to speak.

Lance gave her a doting look and finally agreed to his friends' plan.

After parting ways, Deanna quickly met up with Julia.

Julia dragged her around for a shopping spree until they were exhausted and finally rested at a restaurant.

"I'm so tired. I haven't walked this much in ages."

Julia said while massaging her sore calves.

Deanna looked at her and laughed. "After all that walking and shopping, you shouldn't be nervous anymore, right?"

Julia froze at those words.

Yes, she had dragged Deanna out because she was nervous.

Now that it was out in the open, she didn't deny it and curiously asked Deanna, "Aren't you nervous? The wedding is tomorrow. I've been nervous for three days."

"I'm not nervous; I'm just excited."

Deanna replied with a sweet smile.

Julia couldn't help but mutter, "You have such a good mindset."

"It's not just a good mindset; I've been looking forward to this day for so long that I'm not nervous anymore."

Deanna's eyes sparkled as she spoke.

Finally, after tomorrow, she would be Lance's legitimate wife!
