"My head hurts as if it's going to explode."
Deanna looked pitifully at Lance with a pained expression.
Seeing this, Lance felt heartbroken and wished he could bear the pain for her. "Mr. Martinez said that your hypnosis was interrupted midway, causing excessive nerve stimulation similar to a concussion. You need to rest well for a few days."
"It feels terrible."
Deanna gently tapped her forehead.
Lance grabbed her hand and comforted her, "Alright, don't hit yourself. It pains me. Let me tell you about the outcome of the situation to distract you and see if it helps."
Hearing this, Deanna thought it was a good idea and asked about the morning's events, "After I left, how did you deal with Eula?"
"I sent her directly to the police station. Based on the surveillance video you had, it was enough to prove her crime."
Lance didn't hide anything and told the truth.
It turned out that on her way to meet Eula, Deanna had someone deliver a miniature surveillance device, which she hid in her hair.
As a result, when Eula's men searched her, they found nothing unusual.
However, Deanna frowned upon hearing this, "Sending her to the police station... Even if she's guilty, she's not a Chiaz citizen and is protected by international law. The worst that can happen is deportation and a ban from entering the country for a few years. This essentially releases a potential threat."
She looked at Lance with dissatisfaction, "Are you helping her or harming me?"
Eula had the means to hypnotize her. If Eula sent someone to infiltrate her circle in the future, she might fall victim again.
Moreover, there were two children. Eula might take out her anger on them.
Seeing Deanna's displeasure, Lance held her hand and calmly explained, "How could I harm you? The reason I handed her over to the police is that Eula's entry was reported to higher authorities. If I acted against her privately, her men would cause trouble, leading to international disputes, which would be unfavorable for us."
Hearing this, Deanna's expression softened a bit.
Lance continued, "Additionally, sending her back to her country makes it easier for us to act against her. With her criminal record, outsiders won't question our actions or damage our reputation."
"You really think several steps ahead."
Deanna understood Lance's intentions and smiled lightly.
Lance detected the teasing tone in Deanna's words and looked at her with affection, "When it involves the most important person in my life, I naturally have to think more carefully."
This time, he would make sure Eula never had the chance to cause trouble again.
Listening to Lance's words, Deanna felt a sweetness in her heart.
Then she remembered something and quickly asked, "What did the police say about Eula being able to hypnotize me?"
"This matter has also been investigated thoroughly. Our previous guess was correct. The person who met Duncan was Eula. She had recordings of Duncan's voice and used audio equipment to modulate it to sound like him. That's how she used a voice changer to give you suggestions."
Lance didn't hide anything and explained the situation truthfully.
Deanna was speechless after hearing this, "This woman is quite clever but unfortunately doesn't use it for good."
Lance didn't comment on this but instead changed the subject by asking, "Are you hungry?"
"A little."
Deanna nodded while touching her stomach.
Seeing this, Lance kissed her forehead and smiled, "What do you want to eat? I'll have someone get it for you."
Later in the evening, after dinner, Samantha brought the two little ones to the hospital.
They looked at Deanna lying in bed with a pale face and couldn't hide their worry.
"Deanna, why are you in the hospital?"
"Mommy, where are you feeling unwell?"
They still didn't know about Deanna's meeting with Eula.
Seeing their concerned faces, Deanna put on a gentle smile and reassured them, "Don't worry, Mommy is fine."
"Are you really okay? You don't look fine at all."
Samantha frowned, clearly not believing Deanna's words.
She then turned her gaze to Lance and questioned him, "What exactly happened?"
"Nothing much, just a change of plans."
Lance didn't want to say more to avoid worrying the little ones.
Even so, Samantha guessed the truth.
She glanced at both of them and smiled, "So you two have made up?"
"Yes, we have."
Deanna and Lance exchanged a glance and nodded in agreement.
The two little ones were stunned for a moment before realizing what had happened. They widened their eyes in surprise.
"Daddy and Mommy have made up?"
"That's great!"
They cheered in unison.
Deanna and Lance looked at them with affectionate smiles.
At that moment, Gregory noticed something off in their expressions. In a flash of insight, he realized something was amiss. "Daddy and Mommy, you never actually fought, did you?"
Facing this question, Lance and Deanna exchanged a smile.
"You finally figured it out."
