Eula listened, squinting her eyes. "It doesn't matter. Just two kids. If they behave, I can take them in. If not, a little accident can solve it. After all, children's lives are fragile."
Avery nodded and continued to report. "Deanna left with Gunner. It seems Gunner is planning to make a move for Deanna."
"Whether it's making a move or whatever, as long as that woman doesn't come back to Lance, it's fine. But keep an eye on her for me," Eula ordered sternly.
Although she believed Deanna and Lance had broken up, she still felt uneasy.
Avery nodded in agreement.
Soon, the car stopped at the hospital entrance.
Eula gently adjusted her dress to avoid any wrinkles before slowly getting out of the car, carrying the breakfast she had someone buy, and gracefully walked into the hospital.
Within minutes, she arrived at Lance's ward and knocked on the door.
"Lance, may I come in?"
Despite her words, she pushed the door open and entered directly.
Seeing her, Lance's already cold expression turned even more displeased. "Who allowed you to come in?"
Eula feigned ignorance. "I didn't hear you object, so I thought you agreed."
She eagerly approached the bed with the food box in hand, offering it like a treasure. "I saw the news online and figured you might be feeling down, so I got you something delicious."
"My mood has nothing to do with you. Take your things and leave."
Lance showed no kindness to Eula and directly issued an eviction order.
Hearing this, Eula's smile almost faltered.
She looked at him with grievance. "Lance, what do I have to do for you to treat me like before?"
"Before? Before, I was blind!"
Lance's lips curled into a mocking smile.
His cold gaze fell on Eula as he deliberately provoked her. "Do you think that just because Deanna and I broke up, you have a chance?"
Isn't that so?
Though Eula didn't say it out loud, Lance saw it in her eyes.
"You should give up. Even if Deanna and I break up, you won't have any chance."
"Why?!" Eula couldn't hold back her question.
She didn't understand how she was any worse than Deanna.
Lance stared at her for a few seconds before looking away coldly. "No reason. Just don't show up in front of me again, or don't say I didn't warn you!"
Hearing this, Eula was unsurprisingly unwilling to accept it.
She took several deep breaths to calm herself down.
Then she looked at Lance with determination. "I know you're hurting from your breakup with Deanna and won't accept anyone else right now. But that's okay. I'm not in a hurry. I can stay by your side and help you forget Deanna."
Lance felt speechless at her presumptuous words.
He didn't bother responding to Eula anymore.
He knew that no matter how harsh his words were, this woman would only filter out what she didn't want to hear.
Eula felt dejected seeing Lance ignore her.
But she didn't mind since Lance was in a bad mood.
After staying with Lance for a while longer, she left voluntarily before he could explode.
Little did she know, as soon as she left, Xavier walked into the ward.
"Throw this away," Lance ordered, pointing at the food box Eula had brought.
He added, "Throw it somewhere obvious so Eula can see it."
Xavier nodded, took the food box out of the ward, and threw it into a public trash bin.
Almost simultaneously, Eula received a report from her spy.
"Ma'am, Lance had someone throw away the food box you brought and arranged for two bodyguards to guard the door."
Hearing this, Eula knew Lance was guarding against her, feeling both aggrieved and unwilling to accept it.
She couldn't believe that without Deanna in the way, she still couldn't win over Lance.
In the following days, Eula visited the hospital daily to curry favor with Lance.
Unfortunately, except for the first day, she didn't see Lance again on any other day.
The news about Lance and Deanna's breakup also disappeared after causing a stir on the first day.
According to Eula's investigation, Lance and Gunner had suppressed the news together.
Soon enough, it was the day of Lance's discharge from the hospital.
Xavier arrived early to help Lance pack his belongings.
Eula also came early but couldn't get close to Lance, so she waited outside the hospital.
As she waited for Lance to come out, several black cars suddenly drove up beside her.
From the cars emerged two rows of burly men in black suits.
Landon, wearing sunglasses, was the last to step out of a car.
He had been back for several days but hadn't found an opportunity to confront Lance since he wasn't seeing anyone.
Finally hearing that Lance was being discharged today, he immediately brought his men over.
Today, he was determined to stand up for Deanna!
