Chapter 1148: Going Shopping

At the estate,

Deanna decided to have lunch with Jessica because she liked Jessica's straightforward personality.

As they chatted at the dining table, their friendship grew stronger.

Later, after finishing their meal, Deanna suggested, "When our afternoon break is over, I'll take you around the area."

"Is it convenient? I don't want to bother you," Jessica hesitated, concerned about Deanna's well-being.

Deanna understood Jessica's concern and smiled, "Don't worry, I'm fine. Even if you don't come, I planned to go out and introduce you to another friend of mine. You two have similar personalities and should get along well."

"Alright then, I'll leave it to you, Miss Deanna," Jessica accepted Deanna's kind offer with a smile.

At two o'clock that afternoon, Deanna and Jessica's break ended.

Just then, Julia arrived.

Even before entering the living room, her joyful voice could be heard, "Deanna, I'm here!"

"Welcome," Deanna greeted Julia with a smile, looking at Jessica mischievously.

In the next moment, Julia bounced into the room.

Unaware of the person sitting on the nearby sofa, she complained to Deanna intimately, "Thank goodness you called me today. Otherwise, I would have been stuck at home again. I don't know if it's a common trait among men, but they think pregnant women are fragile like glass. They restrict everything I do, even eating spicy snacks. It's so annoying!"

As she spoke, she sat next to Deanna and hugged her tightly, saying in frustration, "I don't want to be in a relationship anymore. Being single is so much better!"

"Oh really? Then next time I see Lionel, I'll pass on this message for you," Deanna teased.

Julia's face froze as she realized her slip-up. "Uh, well, I was just joking. Deanna, please don't embarrass me!"

Seeing her friend's embarrassment, Deanna couldn't help but laugh.

Jessica joined in the laughter.

It was only at that moment that Julia noticed another person in the room. Her already awkward expression became even more embarrassed.

"Deanna, you have a friend here. Hello," she greeted Jessica while leaning closer to Deanna and whispered in a voice only they could hear, "Deanna, why didn't you remind me there was someone else here? It's so embarrassing for me! My image!"

Deanna shrugged innocently and said, "It's not that I didn't tell you. As soon as you came in, you started complaining, and I didn't even have a chance to speak."

Julia choked on her words as she recalled the situation just now. It seemed like Deanna was right.

At this moment, Deanna introduced the two to each other, "Miss Hill, this is Julia King. Julia, this is Miss Jessica Hill, the heiress of the Hill family and my savior. If it weren't for her, I might have been locked up by Dayton for a while."

"Nice to meet you, Miss King," Jessica greeted Julia graciously.

Julia responded politely and then asked curiously, "Who is this Dayton you mentioned? Why did he want to lock you up?"

Deanna was about to answer when Jessica interjected, "Let me explain this. It's about Dayton and Lance."

As Jessica briefly recounted the conflict between Dayton and Lance, Julia's face filled with surprise. She exclaimed, "Someone actually dares to provoke Mr. Mercer and is still alive? This Dayton is quite something."

Deanna quickly stopped her friend from saying more.

Julia realized she had gone too far and quickly laughed it off, saying, "I didn't mean anything by it. Just expressing my astonishment."

"I understand. Given Dayton's personality, I also think it's remarkable that he's still alive," Jessica chuckled and shook her head.

After some friendly conversation, the three of them decided to go shopping.

To not disturb Deanna's excitement, Shannon and Nightingale stayed close by to protect her.

After who knows how long they had been shopping, they arrived at a baby store.

With two expectant mothers in their group, they decided to go inside and browse.

"Deanna, look at this cute little dress. I want to buy it and dress my daughter in it when she's born," Julia excitedly showed a pink princess dress to Deanna.

Deanna was also charmed by the dress and asked the store attendant, "Do you have more of this dress? What is the largest size available?"

Julia asked, "Are you buying it for Chloe?"

"I'll buy one for Chloe and one for my baby in the belly. Then they can have matching outfits," Deanna replied with a smile.
