Seeing tears in the eyes of the two little ones, Deanna quickly crouched down to wipe their tears, feeling sorry for them. "Why are you crying? Weren't you fine just now?"
"We're okay, we just miss Mommy too much." The two little ones choked out.
What they didn't say was that they felt Mommy wasn't as close to them as before when she came back this time.
Could it be because of the baby?
The two little ones wondered in their hearts.
But their thoughts didn't escape Lance's notice.
Lance couldn't help but smile wryly and quickly explained, "Mommy has amnesia now, and she doesn't remember anyone."
When Deanna heard this, she was initially surprised by Lance suddenly mentioning this, but then she saw the red eyes of the two little ones and understood what was going on.
"I'm sorry, I don't remember what happened before, I don't know what I used to do. If I hurt you, I hope you can forgive Mommy."
As she spoke, she looked apologetically at the two little ones, her expression sincere.
It surprised Chloe, Gregory, Old Ashley, and Samantha.
"Amnesia?"
"Mommy has amnesia?"
Seeing the shocked expressions of everyone, Deanna nodded and said, "Yes, temporarily amnesia."
At this moment, Lance also spoke up, "I have already made an appointment with a neurologist for tomorrow. Deanna will have a comprehensive examination then."
Deanna didn't object.
After all, it was for her own good.
"So Mommy has amnesia, it's not because of the baby that you don't like us anymore."
Chloe breathed a sigh of relief and looked up at Deanna with a soft and cute gaze. She continued, "Since Mommy doesn't recognize us anymore, let's get to know each other again. Hello Mommy, I am your daughter. I used to be called Chloe Jones, but then I found Daddy and changed my name to Chloe Mercer. I'm six years old now and in kindergarten, but I've already self-studied up to fourth grade level."
"Fourth grade?"
Deanna was surprised.
Chloe proudly puffed up her chest when she saw Deanna's reaction. "It's all thanks to my big brother. My big brother is very smart."
Gregory heard this and glanced at his sister before looking at Deanna with a serious expression. "My name is Gregory Mercer."
Upon hearing this and meeting the little boy's dark eyes, Deanna's expression became trance-like for a moment.
At that moment, an image appeared in her mind of a woman sitting on a bed with a baby crib next to her.
The moon outside the window was round and bright, adorned with numerous stars.
"In the future, you will be called Gregory and Chloe. Mommy hopes your future lives will be as beautiful and lasting as the vast expanse of the starry sky."
As she reminisced, Deanna heard Gregory's hopeful voice. "Mommy, did you remember something?"
Coming back to her senses, Deanna gently nodded as she met the little boy's bright eyes.
She curved her lips and said, "I hope your future lives will be as beautiful and lasting as the vast expanse of the starry sky, right?"
"Yes, Mommy, you remembered!" Chloe became excited.
Lance and Old Ashley also looked at them with joy.
Deanna felt a bit sorry when she saw their expressions and was about to say something.
But in the next moment, she saw the two little ones regain their spirits and sweetly smile at her.
"It's okay, Mommy didn't remember. We'll help Mommy find her memories in the future."
"Okay, we'll count on you then."
Deanna looked at them with tender eyes.
After some greetings, Deanna became familiar with everyone present.
But when she learned that her grandmother had brain cancer and that her condition had worsened significantly, she couldn't help but worry.
Seeing her worried expression, Old Ashley persuaded her, "Don't furrow your brows. It's not a big problem. The doctor said that as long as I relax my mood, the condition can be controlled."
"It's because of worrying about me that Grandma's condition worsened, right? If only I had realized something was wrong earlier, I should have found my family sooner."
Deanna regretted a bit for not seeking out her family at the first sign of trouble due to those concerns.
Old Ashley listened to her self-blaming words and waved her hand. "Silly girl, no matter what, you're back safely. That's more important than anything else!"
"Grandma is right. If you blame yourself, try to recover your memories as soon as possible so that you can use your medical skills to help Grandma recover."
Lance also persuaded Deanna.
Deanna felt that he made sense and nodded. "I will cooperate with the treatment and Grandma should listen to the doctor's advice."
"I know." Old Ashley nodded with a smile.
Later in the evening, Deanna stayed at the hospital for a while until she felt tired. Lance took her back home.
The two little ones went along too.
