Lance stood still.
He wasn't there to catch up with Joe and didn't want to waste time. He spoke decisively, "No need to sit. I'm here today to confirm something. Once it's confirmed, I'll leave."
"What is it?" Joe adjusted himself into a comfortable position and looked over leisurely.
Lance got straight to the point, "You should know about the recent events on my side. According to the clues Eula found, she told me that my fiancée was taken by your people."
"I took your fiancée?!" Joe reacted as if he had heard a joke, a sarcastic smile appearing on his face. "Everyone knows the rule: family is off-limits. Why would I take your fiancée? To be despised?"
He paused, then turned his gaze to Eula, who looked both shocked and flustered. His voice turned cold, "Eula, you said I took Lance's fiancée. Where's the proof?"
Lance also looked at Eula upon hearing this.
Eula's eyes flashed with panic but quickly steadied.
Although she hadn't anticipated Lance's move, she had a backup plan and immediately blamed the Mafia Boss.
Joe's expression grew serious after listening.
He looked at Lance and, not minding that Lance knew their internal affairs, said frankly, "To be honest, three days ago, this Mafia Boss defected from my control. If what Eula says is true, it might be because the Mafia Boss was my appointed head in Chiaz."
Lance frowned, surprise flickering in his eyes.
He hadn't expected this to be possible.
But upon further thought, it wasn't surprising.
If Eula hadn't been fully prepared, she wouldn't have told him this information.
It seemed that the Mafia Boss and Eula had reached some agreement.
That night, the group left the Eagle Gang empty-handed.
Back at their temporary hotel, Eula stopped Lance, "Now that I've proven my innocence, can we talk properly?"
"Eula, don't make me repeat myself. I'm not an idiot."
Lance didn't want to say more and walked past her.
Gunner followed behind and glanced at Eula as he passed.
Back in the room, Gunner approached Lance and said seriously, "Eula is very cunning. Deanna is likely in her hands; we just don't know where she's hiding her. I suggest we push her to the edge and see if she'll use Deanna to negotiate."
"No, we can't do that. This woman is ruthless. If we push her too hard, she'll retaliate against Deanna."
Lance immediately dismissed the idea.
As a former close partner, he knew Eula too well.
Gunner didn't insist but expressed his frustration, "So what do we do now? We're being led by this woman."
"Being led by her isn't all bad. At least we have her attention, which makes it easier for my people to act."
Lance suddenly said.
Gunner raised an eyebrow, "So you've made arrangements?"
"I've already sent people to secretly search all of Eula's properties for Deanna."
Lance didn't hide this from Gunner.
Gunner hesitated, "Will that work? With her cunning nature, Deanna might be hidden well. We don't want her to catch on."
"I know her. If things seem smooth, she'll become arrogant. As long as I show urgency and provoke her a few more times, she'll definitely go to Deanna. Then my people can follow."
Lance spoke coldly.
As they discussed, Lance suddenly received a call from his father.
"Lance, Deanna's grandmother's condition has worsened. You need to bring Mr. Martinez back quickly."
Logan's voice was heavy on the phone.
Lance was alarmed and quickly asked, "How did her condition worsen? Wasn't it under control?"
Logan explained, "You know Deanna's grandmother hasn't been in good health. With Deanna missing for so long without any news, the worry has taken a toll on her body. You need to come back quickly."
"I understand. I'll return immediately."
Lance hung up solemnly and called Xavier to prepare a helicopter.
After Xavier left, Gunner asked, "What happened?"
Lance didn't hide it and said truthfully, "Deanna's grandmother's condition has worsened. It's serious."
At the same time, Eula learned about Lance's actions.
She was curious about where Lance planned to go in the middle of the night.
