Chapter 1012: Developing Their Own Special Medicine

"Master, I remember you said this formula is a preliminary version."

Deanna's eyes sparkled with a peculiar light as she looked over.

Gunner nodded, "Indeed, this is a preliminary version. The advanced version is highly valued by the people of Abla and is not for sale. Moreover, the preliminary special medicine has certain side effects, which is why they secretly sold it to me. Even if this medicine is developed, it won't affect the sales and regulation of Abla's special medicine."

Hearing this, Deanna became more convinced that her idea might work.

"Master, listen to what I have to say and see if it could work."

She looked over expectantly and then shared her idea, "Since we have the preliminary formula, even if part of it is incorrect, why don't we analyze the components of the special medicine currently on the market and compare it with this formula? This way, we might be able to crack Abla's latest special medicine formula."

Unexpectedly, as soon as she finished speaking, she heard her master and Lionel chuckling softly.

Deanna looked over in confusion, "Why are you laughing? Was what I said funny?"

"It's not that it's funny; it's just surprising that someone as shrewd as Miss Jones can have such naive moments."

Lionel looked over with a smile.

Deanna still didn't understand and frowned at him, asking again, "What do you mean?"

At this point, Gunner slowly spoke up to explain Lionel's words, "He means your idea is too naive."

Deanna was momentarily speechless and couldn't help but mutter softly, "How is it naive?"

Lionel continued to laugh, "Think about it. How many people in medical research are foolish? The method you just thought of was proposed years ago. But the people of Abla anticipated this and made hidden modifications in their special medicine. Many components cannot be analyzed."

Hearing this, Deanna finally understood why her master and Lionel were laughing.

However, she still didn't want to give up.

"Even if we can't analyze it, what if we test the efficacy one by one?"

"We can test them one by one, but as I said earlier, it's a massive undertaking."

Lionel wasn't trying to dampen Deanna's enthusiasm; he was merely stating the reality. "You have to understand, there are thousands of materials worldwide that can control cancer cells. The difference lies in their effectiveness. And that's not even considering some non-medicinal elements that can be used as medicinal microelements."

There was no denying that after hearing these words, Deanna couldn't find any counterarguments.

She couldn't help but slump her shoulders in frustration, "So we can only watch Abla control this medicine..."

"There is another way."

Gunner suddenly spoke up.

Deanna and Lionel looked over in surprise and asked in unison, "What way?"

"The way is to develop our own special medicine."

At this point, Gunner paused and looked directly at the two in front of him before continuing slowly, "When I bought this formula initially, I had two plans. If the formula was correct, we would develop a new special medicine based on it. If the formula had issues, we would use some of its properties to research a completely new special medicine."

"Then let's research our own special medicine. I don't believe that if Abla can develop it, we in Chiaz, with our vast resources, can't surpass them."

Deanna made her choice with great determination.

Gunner didn't respond immediately but looked at Lionel.

Seeing this, Lionel shared his thoughts, "If we develop our own special medicine, it will be like crossing a river by feeling the stones. After all, the Abla formula contains incorrect information, meaning it will take a long time."

"I think no matter how long it takes, as long as we persist, there will be good news."

Deanna thought Lionel was worried about the long research time and feared no results. She looked at him disapprovingly.

Lionel realized she misunderstood him and quickly explained himself, "I'm not afraid of no results. What I mean is that we can actually take a middle ground. We can analyze Abla's preliminary formula and extract useful parts from it. Then combine them with our domestic cancer-controlling medicines to see if we can enhance the overall efficacy. Especially some precious herbs in traditional medicine that I remember have miraculous effects on controlling cancer but are in very limited supply."

"Your idea is quite similar to mine. Let me add a bit more."

Gunner agreed with Lionel's suggestion.

He then mentioned a few points that Lionel hadn't considered.

Listening to these words, Deanna also gained many insights. She realized that her thinking was still not comprehensive and rational enough.

She initially thought that since Abla guarded their special medicine formula so closely, they should simply develop their own formula. Then they could sell it at a low price to patients when it's ready, disrupting Abla's market for their special medicine.
