Meeting The In-laws

I sat stiffly on the chair, though I remained calm outside I was panicking inside. What if they don't accept me? What if they want to take Alina away from me? Or what if they continue to support their pack?

My first secretly clenched, my eyes turned cold and determined as they flashed with ruthlessness, "I don't care what they choose to do but I won't allow them to take what belongs to me. Merina is mine!" I thought.

The sound of footsteps woke me up from my daze, my eyes trembled, I clenched and unclenched my fist, I sat up and looked towards the entrance, and then I saw them.

A woman who seemed to have passed her middle-aged and a man who they were supporting as they walked in. The man looked old and very weak. I furrowed my brows as I wasn't expecting them to look like this, my heart clenched as it came to me-They had been tortured so badly which is why they had grown older and weaker.

My lips drawled to a thin line as I continued to watch them. They walked to my presence and on seeing me, they widened their eyes in shock then they scrambled back in fear. My hands, which were almost raised to support them, curled back to my side.

This is not what I was expecting-

I cleared my throat and turned to look at Gemini with helpless eyes. This was the third time I had felt helpless, the first was my Sister and then next was Alina and now the third is someone also related to her, Her parents!

I watched as Gemini walked towards them and it seemed they recognized him as they gave him a polite smile making me annoyed.

I am the son-in-law here! They should look at me and not Gemini! I gritted my teeth and glared at Gemini making him shudder then looked at me with confusion on his face, I reigned in my anger at the moment and focused on them.

Gemini smiled at them then pointed at me, "Uncle And Aunty, this is our Alpha, The Northern Alpha, Kennedy. He gave us the order to rescue you both, so you should be thanking him and not scared of him." He said loudly which got him a nod from me, but then the nod of approval became a forced look when I heard his mutters to them-

"The Alpha is so uncomfortable with you both scared of him. He is a nice man. And he won't eat you, though he does eat up his betrayals!" He said then without looking at me, he ran away.

I gritted my teeth again, then raised my head to look at my in-laws who seemed to have regained a bit of color and they weren't as uncomfortable as when they came in.

I sighed in relief then opened my mouth to say something when I was interrupted by their bow, "Thank You Alpha Kennedy for saving us!"

I stood up immediately then walked towards them and held them up. If Alina knew I had stressed her parents like this, I wonder how I would be punished. I don't want to not kiss and hug her for days.

I cleared my throat in embarrassment then shook my head, "You don't need to do this. You are Alina's parents and this is my responsibility!" I said passionately then watched their expression but what I saw was just confusion and it seemed they still hadn't realized the meaning of my words.

"Oh! You know where my daughter is?! Can I see her?! Can I see my daughter? Please, Alpha! I will do anything to see her. Tell me what you want!" I watched as Mother bowed and pleaded shakily with tears dropping from her eyes.

My face darkened on realizing they thought I had Alina captured, and then I saw them stiffen and they moved away from me in fear. I looked at them speechlessly, I wanted to bash my head on the wall, I didn't know I had released a bit of my aura which scared them again.

I calmed myself down and decided to explain myself, "Mother, father!" I called them and ignoring their shocked expressions, I cleared my throat again, "Alina has been with me for months. She was expelled from the pack and I found her in the wood. Also, we found out we were mates!" I dropped the bomb and watched their expression.

They looked at me in a daze then Father almost fell but I rushed to hold him and steadied him properly.

Not giving them more time to digest my words, I continued, "So let him introduce myself-Mother, Father, I am Alina's Mate, Kennedy!" I introduced then tried bringing out a gentle smile but it seemed so hard so I became calm. Anyways, Alina won't be taken away from me.

"Mate? How is that possible?! How could it be?! Two mates? Why?" Alina's father muttered in shock as he looked at me with wide eyes.

I nodded at his questions, "We were shocked too, but it's better that way. She is mine and we love each other." I said, making sure to declare my love for Alina.

Alina's mother looked at me in disbelief, "You? Love?" She asked making me speechless, then I heard a laugh.

I turned to see who dared to laugh at this moment, my eyes met with Gemini and I glared at him coldly which made him stiffen his laugh.

I stood awkwardly, not knowing how to reply to my mother-in-law's toxic doubt about my heart.

I pulsed my lips, "I love her! She is my life! And yes I didn't know what love was before I met Alina, and I had given up on searching for my mate, but meeting her opened my heart, and rest assured, she is my other half and without her, I don't think I can survive." I declared with a serious face.

"Then –Then…Have you.. hmm.. Marked her?" Alina's father asked calmly.

I looked at him and also replied seriously, "Yes! I marked her already and we have consummated and the only thing left is crowning her as my Luna!" I explained then nodded proudly.

"You Bastard! You dare mark my daughter?!"
