Chapter 36- Detective on run
Jack's POV
I head out of the farmhouse instructing my men to guard the house and especially my love.
Something was coming and it was big. I could feel it. And deep down it scared me.
"Where are you going? " Ask Kevin.
"To solve this" I said getting into the car.
"I think it's a trap" Said Kevin.
"What do you want me to do? " I yell
"Think before reacting, don't be so naive" Said Kevin.
"Okay. What should we do? " I ask.
"Inform Elijah first. He sends me for your protection earlier" Said Kevin
"Hmm you are right" I said thinking hard.
Kevin and Elijah are my best man. I can never fall when they are with me.
"Get in the car then I will inform him to be in your office" Said Kevin hopping in.
I nod and we drove off.
The car ride was silent. My mind wanders around the events.
Sam missing.
Amy missing.
Aarav missing.
Crystal missing.
The girl died and somehow crystal was
investigating it.
The suicidal driver.
"Who do you think is behind all this? " Ask Kevin.
"We will know. Where are Max and angel?" I ask.
"They are in mansion" Inform Kevin. Max is his son and angel is max's mother.
"I think you should pick them up" I said.
Kevin thought for a moment then nod. He called his guard and asked him to pick them up.
"Angel is not in very good state" He sigh.
"What happened? " I ask.
"You know how things are" He sigh again
Angel is the daughter of the guy who owned the mansion before. Kevin killed all but her. First he thought he would sell but then decided to keep her. Few months back he threw her in the dungeon. Later we found out she was pregnant and now he has fallen for her. It been many years, but angel is still shit scared of him, never talk unless spoken too. They are on rough patch right now. He wanted to take her to date but she never put her foot out of the mansion after max was born so she was naturally scared, and Kevin flipped.
"Where do I send her? " He asks.
"My other house" I replied.
"Hmm" He hum.
We reach my office where Elijah was already waiting for us.
"Emergency meeting? " Elijah smirk flashing his phone towards Kevin.
"Yes, it is" I said eyeing them
"What is it again? " He asked.
"Jack got attacked" Said Kevin.
"By who? " Ask Elijah.
"A driver" I said.
That made Elijah chuckle. "A driver? "
"Yes" I grit out.
"Jack you are tensed just because that driver attacks you? The last time I checked you went to meet Italian mafia alone even after we beg you to take some security with you" Said Elijah.
"What did the driver do to make you so tense? " He ask.
I inhale sharply running my hand in my hair.
"He held Zoe at gun point" Said Kevin.
"Then? "
"We killed him" Complete Kevin.
"Anddddd? " Ask Elijah cocking his eyebrow.
"That's it" I complete.
"I can't believe this. You are scared just because some random shit of a man held Zoe at gun point? " He scoffs.
"As far as I can judge. She is safe. Otherwise, you won't be here. So, I don't see the problem" He said standing up from couch.
"The problem you clearly can't see is that someone is plotting against us. " I said slamming the table.
"Aarav is missing too" Added Kevin.
"What? " Ask Elijah in shock.
I pace around the office thinking hard. I need a hacking team to hack into Aarav and Crystal's phone.
I need search team to search them out.
I need the full detail of the girl that ran away.
I need to secure Zoe.
"Okay" I said stopping in my tracks.
"Kevin, I want you to arrange a search team and a hacking team for Aarav and Crystal"
"Elijah. You give me the full details of the girl and the driver" I said.
"I already have the detail of that girl. " Spoke Elijah handing me her file. He can be cocky at times but really perfectionist at work.
"And when did you plan to give me this? " I ask holding the file in air.
"Of course, after you ask" He said. "Also let me handle the security of the family. " He said
"What family? " Ask Kevin.
"Well of course angel and Max" Said Elijah then he turns to me, "Zoe and her family"
Kevin and I exchange the look. This was right.
"Okay. How do you plan on keeping them safe? " I ask.
"Leave it on me" He said.
I nod at Kevin.
I quickly scan the file of the girl.

Named Julian Heisenberg

Porcelain skin
5'3" Height.
Feisty and bold
Sold to gang leader in New York, Rolx Rayman.
Mutilated body with missing limbs.
Death caused due to suffocation and cardiac attract resulting from high doses of drugs in body.
I called Rolx. I wanted to clear things. And always start from the starting.
After few rings he picked up.
"Hello" I said
There was a pause before he spoke.
"Hello, KING" He said mocking me.
"What happened to the girl? " I asked. I wanted to talk business.
"Which one? " He asks.
"Julian" I said.
He let out a chuckle.
"What's so funny Rolx? " He said coldly.
"Why should I tell you? " He said.
"Well, how about we talk business without playing around beating the bushes? " I ask.
"Talk business hmm? " He said as if thinking.
"You already told that to our detective, didn't you? you will just have to repeat yourself. Save yours and my time" I said getting irritated.
"What detective? " He asked genuinely curious.
It was not easy to fool these men like Rolx. He was smart and crystal wouldn't be able to fool him for this long.
Crystal might have hidden her identity in starting but at some point, she would have to come clear.
And Julian was Rolx's. The information could only be fished out of him, no way Crystal remains hidden.
"Tell me everything Rolx." I order.
"Julian was delivered here 3 months ago. It took me 1 month too tame her for myself. I must say, you deliver finest." He said with chuckling.
"About a month ago a guy came offering me money. More than I paid for her" He said.
"And? " I said.
"I asked why he wanted her when he can buy 2-3, with the money he was offering." He said.
"And you made the deal, right? " I declare more than questions.
"You know it's strictly against the policy. Do you remember the consequences, or I should remind you? " I seethed.
"This shit is deep" He curse.
"Who was the guy? " I ask
"I don't know. He looked intimidating, with tattoos all over his body" He said.
I inhale deeply, "I would need more than that" I said.
I could hear the chattering and thrashing sound from the other side.
"I can send you his picture" He said.
"I am texting you from my personal number. Send me the picture as soon as fucking possible" I yell
"And fucking be prepared for later consequences. " I yell again
With that the line went dead.
I took few deep breathes.
"Where the hell are you, Crystal? " I mumble.
I made my way to the mini bar in my office and pour myself a drink. Gulping it down I pace the room.
My mind was mess. So much was happening so fast and I have to move faster to save myself and family.
What is the first thing you should do when you are in danger?
Save the loved ones.
Elijah is on it. But I need to be sure. Double sure.
I called the security to check in with them.
"Where are you? " I ask as head of security picked up my call.
"We are moving. I don't know where, but Elijah boss is moving us to more secure place"
"Stay in touch with me, share your location every hour" I order and cut the call.
What is the second thing you should do when you are in danger?
Prepare your weapons.
So, this is what I did. I open the door of our gun store and pulled out my most efficient weapons.
I changed into more comfortable clothes and then started loading the weapons.
A sharp pocketknife in the sole of my shoe.
A combat knife secured in ankle under the socks.
A handgun secured in my waistband. With extra set of bullets.
A GPS transmitter in my collar of the shirt for fooling them.
Another in the gum of my molar teeth, yes no one checks the teeth.
And one more I inject in my forearm, just in case.
I should have injected one in Zoe too.
What is the third thing you should do when you are in danger?
Maintain your cool. And I can't lose my cool.
The best way to maintain my cool is to hit, so that's what I did. I pulled the punching bag out and started hit it.
10 mins is all I punched it. I don't need to waste any more energy.
Sighing I decided to pay Kevin a visit. As I enter the office, I felt proud.
5 men sat in front of the Kevin, while Kevin on his seat intimidating them. Three men stood pointing their gun on the five men.
And this is how I knew we were on track.
"Hurry up you morons" Shout Kevin making them shiver in fear.
I stood there for not more than 5 minutes when the face of one hacker lit up.
"Did you find them? " Ask Kevin almost immediately.
"Wait" He said aggressively typing.
The other hackers looked terrified and started shivering.
What the hell did Kevin said to them?
What is the leverage that Kevin holds against them?
No time to think of that!
"Done" Yell the second hacker and immediately handed the tab to Kevin.
Kevin frantically looked at the screen, zooming in and out.
I walked up to him and lean a little to have better look.
"Aarav followed you out the other night. His last location was 1 mile from the hotel you checked in," said Kevin,
I looked at the screen, trying to see what he was looking at.
"Where do you see that? " I ask.
"The orange triangle shows Aarav's location" Said the hacker and earned a glare from us.
Kevin points at Aarav's last location. Indeed, he was right.
The other small triangle lies just near Aarav's location.
"And what is that red triangle? " I ask looking at Kevin. He shrugged so I looked at hacker for answer.
"The other one's location" He replied
"Crystal" I whisper.
"Crystal “Kevin confirms.
