“ why didnt you answer my calls and why didnt you come home for tea, i hope you have a good reason young man”
I dont know if it was because i was high or because i was drunk but my response was clearly not the one she had expected
“ its chill mum im out with some new friends thiers no need to get your knickers in a twist i promise im safe and i will be home later”
As soon as these words had left my mouth i regretted the words even if they had got a giggle from my new friends. I waited my stomach churning as to how she was going to reply. As sson as i heard her words i knew i had upset her and that some hoe i was going to need to make this up to her, however in that moment all i was thinking about was impressing my friends and not letting them think i was a loser or even worse a mummies boy.
“ i see, well if your going to be like that and your thinking of coming home in the same state you did the other day you can definitely think again. I think its best if you stay at a friend house tonight dont you ?”
These words cut me like a knife and left a cold feeling in the pit of my stomach. I didnt reply instead choosing to hang up, i turned to my new friends and simply stated
“ man she is pissed at me, she told me not to come home tonight”
I had to stop myself from chocking up at this point, i knew this was serious as no matter what trouble i had found myself in my mum had never once told me not to come home. Josh was my only saving grace here as he turned to me and spoek with confidence
“ dont worry bro we have all been there, i know a girl who is throwing a party tonight, she doesnt go to ur school but she is chill and wouldnt mind us bringing an extra person with us plus you can crash there if you need.”
I breathed a sigh of relief, i had been worried that i would end up sleeping either in the park or on the streets and neither of those were things that i really wanted to do especially as i knew their were several homeless people who would sleep in this park and even the surrounding streets, i didnt know alot about the homeless people around the area but i knew i didnt want to take my chances among them. I slowly gathered myself as i properly rejoined the group we finished off the wkd that we had with us and then after grabbing our things we slowly left the park following josh to the location of the party.
Along the way we stopped at a shop where another member of the group i believe his name was liam, managed to get served and bought some more bottles of wkd and a bottle of vodka and a bottle of coke, once we had put this away in our bags we made our way through the more posh end of estate until we reached what i could only describe as a giant house. It wasnt quiet a mansion but at the same time it dwarfed my own home. We walked up the drive and as we approached the front door we could hear loud music being played and an atmosphere that was a buzz of activity.
Josh knocked on the front door which was quickly answered by a blonde girl who coulndt have been any older than about 17, as soon as i saw her i knew their was something different about her and i knew that i wanted to get to know her alot better than i already did. It wasnt the same feeling as when i saw abbey but a more primal drive. I quickly introduced myself which seemed to fall on deaf ears as she hugged josh and waved a hand towards the interior of the house.
“ feel free to go wherever you want the booze is in the kitchen and their are plastic cups. Please dont break anything and if your gonna smoke please go in the back garden.”
Josh nodded as he heard the instructions and madde a bee line for the kitchen so he could put the alcohol we had brought down. The rst of our group split off looking for other people they knew and i soon lost track of them. I made my way inside and was nearly overwhelmed by the volume of people in this house. The party was clearly in full swing and before i decided to dive into this insanity i sent my mum a text.
