Epilogue II

Valentina:

“I can’t believe you have to go. I mean, isn’t all of the information Dr. Cranston needs here?” I gesture toward the tomb’s entrance.

Samira and Ever roll their eyes, “We’ll just be gone for a couple of weeks, Val.”

I cross my arms in front of my chest and pout, “But they’re not even sending you to the same place. You’re going to Egypt,” I point at Samira, “and you’re going to Spain,” I say to Everly in an accusing manner.

Sami chuckles while Ever mimics my defensive stance, “Cut the shit, Val. You know that our research is important for graduation. We’ll be back before you know it. Besides, you have your gorgeous angelic boyfriend to keep you busy until then. You’ll be fine without us.”

I want to argue, but she’s right. Yet, it still doesn’t stop me from moping around. “Fine, but call me if you need me.”

Both women surround me and embrace me tightly.

Michael walks in at that moment and gives us all a bemused smile. After three months together, he has become accustomed to our crazy girl moments.

“Are you ready to go, ladies,”

Sami and Ever nod as they gather their bags.

Michael offered to take them to the airport and already stored all of their luggage in his vehicle.

“I’ll miss you guys,” I mumble childishly.

Sami pats my back, and Everly pushes me slightly, “Come on, girl. No more of that. You know you’ll be too busy having hot, naked sex with your man to miss us.”

I glare when everyone laughs. Even Michael gives them an agreeable nod.

There’s no denying that Michael and I have been going at it like bunnies.

“Just go, bitches!” I shoo them away. “I can’t wait until you both find someone, and I’m the one giving you shit for walking funny.”

Michael slides his arm around my shoulder and pulls me close, “It’s alright, mon petit. Your friends will be back soon.”

I rest my head on his chest and glare at my friends, “You two better come back here in one piece or so help you; I will kick both your asses.”

Once we drop off my friends, Michael drives us back to our apartment and carries me to bed. As I gaze up into his beautiful eyes, I feel a sense of peace. Though Sami and Ever are my family, I finally feel like I’m where I belong, and it’s glorious. I just hope that my friends find the same kind of love because they both deserve a happy ending.
