Epilogue I
Michael:
I stand beside Valentina once we reach our home, still shocked to know what their project is. I know she said that she had a project in Israel. I just didn’t connect her project to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
After our flight, Valentina and I went to one of the homes I own in the city center. Valentina was completely amused when I offered her friends housing, but they declined because they did not want to hear or see any of our nightly activities.
I’m glad that they did because Valentina and I did get quite noisy in our activities. For three months, Valentina and I become further acquainted and fall deeper in love.
At one point, I take her to Lucifer’s home and introduce her to Lana, with who she instantly connects. Both admit to feeling a deep sense of kinship as soon as they meet.
Unfortunately, Rafael and Gabriel are on missions for the Council and do not know about my mating. Gabriel left right after Samira awoke from stasis, and we have not heard a word from Rafael since we discussed the Hand of God. Neither of them has any idea that their mates are alive. However, Lucifer and I have confidence that they will soon find them.
“What are you thinking about?” Valentina asks as she prepares to go to bed.
I rest my head back on the headboard and watch my beautiful mate as she slips on a nightgown and brushes her long hair.
“I was thinking about how much I adore you and how I wish my brothers were here to see that there is hope for them yet.”
She smiles as she settles her brush on the nightstand and crawls into bed beside me. “Don’t worry about them, babe,” she mutters against my lips, “Rafael and Gabriel will get their happily ever after. I mean, a Morai pretty much told me it was happening.”
Smiling, I pull her on top of me and kiss her deeply, “Je t'aime,” I whisper.
She smiles against my lips, “Can I tell you something?” she asks.
I nod, “Oui, what do you wish to say, She smiles mischievously, “Before Sami, Ever, and I left Arizona, we did this silly ritual asking questions about things we wished to know. All we had to do was write it down and toss it into the fire.”
I slide my hand down her spine and massage her gently, making her shiver, “What did you ask?”
She bites her lower lip and leans her forehead against mine, “I asked if I would ever meet my soulmate─and I did.”
An amazed expression settles across my face, “Ah bon?” Really? I question, shocked by her revelation.
Valentina nods, “Yeah, no lie. But that’s not all,” she emphasizes every word with kisses.
“Qu'y a - t - il d'autre?” What else is there? I ask, feeling my curiosity become completely piqued.
“Well…” she sighs dramatically, “…that same night, I dreamt of an angel. I couldn’t see his face, but I could see his─your beautiful wings. I guess the ritual worked. Isn’t that wild?”
I nod, “Oui, that is quite surprising, chérie. However, I can’t say that it doesn’t gratify me to know that you have dreamt of me.”
She bites my chin gently and settles her head back on my shoulder, “Whether it was magic or coincidence, I can’t say that I’m not happy that I found you.”
As we settle rest, I consider Valentina’s words. Destiny will definitely find its way and my brothers will finally find happiness. I have faith.
