Chapter 98 Amelia's Interview

While Robert and the others were busy with their tasks, Liam arrived at Amelia's house.

"Daddy!" Ruby ran over.

"Have you been good?" Liam asked with a smile after picking up the little one.

"Of course, I've been good. Grandpa and grandma like me more and more!" Ruby said proudly.

"Haha, is that so?" Liam patted the little girl's head and then greeted Matthew who was coming out of the room, "Dad!"

"Liam, you're here!" Matthew responded warmly.

"Liam, where's Robert? Didn't he come with you?" Kimberly came out from the kitchen at that moment, smiling and looking at Liam.

"Mom!" Liam smiled and said, "He's busy with something else."

"Well, why don't you invite him to have dinner with us tonight? I made chicken soup for you all," Kimberly said with a smile.

"Sure!" Liam responded with a smile, "Thanks, mom!"

"Liam, there's big news again. Do you want to hear it?" Avery, who had just finished a phone call, walked out of the room and exclaimed loudly as if she had discovered a new continent.

"Seeing how excited you are, it's not about having a boyfriend, is it?" Liam responded with a laugh.

"No way!" Avery pouted, "Have you heard of the globally sensational Universe Heart?"

"I heard about it last time from your sister's friend. It's said to be very precious. What's going on?" Liam said with a slight pause.

"Of course, it's precious! There's only one in the whole world, worth billions of dollars! And it's exquisitely crafted. Countless women dream of having it!" Avery exaggeratedly exclaimed, then turned to Amelia, who was helping in the kitchen, and said, "You've seen the picture of that necklace too, right?"

"Yes, it's indeed beautiful!" Amelia smiled and replied, "Such a gorgeous necklace naturally has its appeal to any woman."

"Avery, is this the news you wanted to share?" Liam chuckled.

"Yes, it's related to this." Avery nodded vigorously, "Yesterday, two major incidents happened at the Universe Heart exhibition in DIS city!"

"What incidents?" Amelia's interest seemed to be piqued as well, as she walked out of the kitchen.

"Guess?" Avery teased.

"Someone didn't try to rob it, did they?" Amelia chuckled.

"You got one-third of it right!" Avery exclaimed loudly.

"What do you mean by one-third right?" Amelia gave her a speechless glare.

"Don't be impatient, I'll slowly tell you..."

Avery replied, "The owner of Universe Heart gave away that extraordinary treasure for free yesterday!"

"What!?" Amelia exclaimed, surprised, "Gave it away for free? Wasn't it said that even with money, the necklace couldn't be bought? How could it be given away for free?"

"You didn't expect that, did you?" Avery chuckled, "No one did!"

"To whom was it given?" Liam didn't expect the news to spread to CUG city so quickly.

In his mind, he hoped it wouldn't be exposed, as he still planned to surprise Amelia!

"I'm not sure about that, only heard it was a young man, don't know the specifics," Avery continued.

"What about the second major event you mentioned?" Liam asked again.

After hearing Avery's words and putting his mind at ease, the subsequent major incident at the scene would probably not receive much attention.

"Later, a group of assassins arrived at the scene, they intended to assassinate the owner of the necklace, and it is said that several audience members were seriously injured," Avery responded.

"Ah?" Amelia exclaimed again, surprised, "What happened then?"

"They're that amazing?" Liam replied cooperatively.

On the other hand, because the situation was too dangerous at the time, the audience present didn't think to take photos with their phones. Otherwise, it would have been easy to identify them!"

"Is that so?" Liam smiled.

In his mind, he thought that he needed to hurry with the proposal, so as not to accidentally reveal it too soon.

"I really want to know who those three people are, they're so amazing!" Avery blinked her big eyes, full of admiration.

"Alright, stop fantasizing!" Amelia said irritably.

After a pause, as if remembering something, she looked at Liam and said, "By the way, Liam, are you free later?"

"Yes!" Liam smiled, "What's up?"

"I have an interview at a company today, if you're free, can you give me a ride?" Amelia smiled beautifully.

"An interview?" Liam was taken aback, "So soon?"

"Yes!" Amelia nodded, "I sent out a lot of resumes these past few days, and I've already received several interview calls. After screening them, I decided to go for this one today."

"Then let's go!" Liam smiled again.

"Wait! I'll change my outfit!" Amelia said and turned to go into the room.

About twenty minutes later, she came out again.

Her face was lightly made up, her jet-black hair pulled back into an updo, and a professional suit showcased her graceful figure perfectly.

A platinum necklace hung on her delicate neck, and her feet...

Wearing a pair of black high heels, she was dressed in the standard attire of a white-collar worker. She exuded a sense of competence!

"Wow, Mom, you look so beautiful today!" Ruby, who was playing with her toys, said to Amelia in an admiring tone.

"Little girl, isn't your mom beautiful every day?" Liam teased with a smile.

Five minutes later, the two got into the car.

"Amelia, how about I talk to my friend and arrange for you to work at Hawa Group?" Liam asked with a smile as the Land Rover slowly drove away. "Hawa Group is one of the top ten companies in the country, and it has a great platform!"

"No!" Amelia shook her head. "I can't rely on you for everything. I want to rely on my own abilities for my work."

"Haha, fair enough!" Liam laughed again.

After about half an hour, the two arrived at a forty-story office building.

"Liam, there's a café over there. You can go inside and wait for me. I should be down soon," Amelia said, pointing to a café next to the office building.

"Alright!" Liam smiled. "Give me a call if you need anything."

"I'm just going for the interview. What could go wrong?" Amelia smiled back.

Then, she turned and walked towards the lobby of the office building.
