Chapter 107 His Tender Care

"No way, that's impossible!"

Emma's voice was filled with suspicion as she burst out the next moment.

"The news has got to be fake. There's no way she's tonight's leading lady!"

"How could it be her?" Scott stared at the screen, his face the picture of disbelief.

It was only then that he finally realized why, with just a word, Liam kept his family from even entering the VIP area.

Shock gave way to a creeping fear in his heart.

He wasn't a fool; anyone with the influence to organize an event like this had to be someone with major connections.

At this moment, he truly understood who Liam was, a far cry from the small fry they thought they knew. Liam was indeed a high-flier, a person with his head in the clouds!

It was laughable that his family had been plotting to settle old scores with Liam.

The irony was bitter.

With the power Liam had shown today, taking on the small fry Harris family was as inconsequential as stepping on an ant!

Scott let out a heavy sigh and quickly headed toward his father's villa.

Aligning with a big shot like Liam was what the Harris family needed, something they had always dreamed of.

After the hustle of the proposal, a major weight was lifted from Liam's shoulders.

Three days post-proposal, Liam and Amelia went to the courthouse to officially register their union, becoming a family in the eyes of the law.

Over the next few days, everyone was busy with moving houses. The villa was ready and waiting for them to settle in.

Robert bought the mansion next to the Parkers and moved in, leaving a room for Mike.

That day, after the moving was done, the family plus Robert shared their first dinner in the new home.

The Matthews were elated, busying themselves with the dinner preparations since afternoon, and even splurged on several bottles of fine wine.

At the dinner, Kimberly constantly chatted with Liam, keeping up with his recent life and making Liam blush with the attention.

Meanwhile, Matthew kept urging Robert to eat more, and Robert, who hadn't felt the warmth of family in a long time, was deeply moved.

The three men finished off four or five bottles of wine in less than two hours.

A tipsy Matthew clamored to open a couple more bottles, only to back down under Kimberly's stern gaze.

After dinner, everyone continued to talk for a while until Robert excused himself to return to his villa.

Having cleaned up the kitchen, the Matthews bathed Ruby and took the little one back to their room to rest.

Ruby was originally set on bunking with Liam for the night, but after Kimberly and Avery intervened, she finally agreed to sleep over at Grandma's.

" It’s getting late. You two should head to bed; I hope you have a pleasant night!" Avery said with a knowing smile after finishing her nightly routine.

"Avery cut it out," Amelia chided, a hint of a blush spreading across her cheeks.

"I'll leave you to it; better hurry up and get ready for bed!" Avery stuck out her tongue playfully before heading to her room.

Just before reaching her door, she turned back with another mischievous grin. "Try to keep it down; the soundproofing in this villa isn't great. Don't want to wake Ruby, but hey, if you do, don't say we didn't warn you!"

"Avery, shut up!" Amelia's blush deepened as she spoke.

"Goodnight!" Avery teased with a funny face before disappearing into her room and closing the door.

"Honey, why don't you freshen up first?" Liam suggested, smiling at Amelia.

With a shy nod, Amelia's face was flushed as she agreed.

At 10 p.m., Liam finished his evening preparations and entered the bedroom to find Amelia in a silk nightgown, propped against the headboard and absently flipping through a magazine. On the outside, she seemed calm, but inside, she was a bundle of nerves.

Although they had been intimate once before, it was an accident, just that one time. She had never had a boyfriend before that incident, nor had she been close to any man afterward.

Now, the prospect of sharing a bed with Liam naturally made her anxious. Yet, amidst the nervousness, there was a hint of anticipation.

"Honey, you're holding the magazine upside down," Liam teased after getting into bed.

Realizing her mistake, Amelia muttered sheepishly and placed the magazine back on the nightstand.

"If you're not ready for this, I could sleep on the floor for a while until you get used to it," Liam suggested with a gentle smile.

"That won't do," Amelia quickly replied. "My parents would berate me if they found out that you slept on the floor!"

"Alright, I'll sleep by your side without touching you. We'll wait until you're ready, okay?" Liam asked, still smiling.

"I..." Overcome with shyness, Amelia couldn't find the words.

"Then, how about a hug for now?" Liam whispered and tenderly embraced her.

Amelia's first instinct was to struggle, but she soon relaxed. Resting her head against Liam's chest as her cheeks once again warmed with blush.

"Amelia, have you been happy these past days?" Liam inquired.

She nodded vigorously. "This has been the happiest time of my life!" she affirmed.

"Don't worry, I'll make sure you're this happy for a lifetime!" Liam gazed at Amelia with deep affection, his voice a tender whisper.

"I believe you!" Amelia nodded slightly, a gentle incline of her head.

"Amelia, I love you!" Liam leaned in to kiss the soft locks of her hair.

" I love you too Liam!" Amelia's response was a soft murmur, her heart racing from the masculine scent of him.

After a brief pause, she murmured, "Liam, I want to..." Her words trailed off as Liam captured her lips with his own.

Amelia shuddered, her cheeks blushing red as a ripened apple.

As moments passed, her tension eased, her body began to wriggle slightly, and then she kissed him back with growing eagerness.

After several minutes, Amelia began to feel warm all over, her eyes growing hazy with desire.

"Amelia, here I come," Liam whispered before gently pressing her beneath him.

Soon, the room echoed with the kind of impassioned sounds that make a heart skip a beat.
