I couldn’t concentrate on work all I saw when I close my eyes is Jojo lying on the ground barely conscious. I thought about how we were going to tell Benji Jojo was dead. “Fuck.” I got up and stood at the window. If John will just call me and tell me what is going on I can maybe relax. It’s not like I can go to the hospital and check on her myself. I went back to work or should I say tried to get back to work by 11 am I called John. “Coop what’s wrong?” “Why haven’t you called me to tell me what is going on with Jojo?” “I didn’t think you will be this invested in her wellbeing.” “Well, I am, now tell me.” “She’s fine she did however vomit when we got there, Sophia said it was the eggs, but she could keep tea and biscuits down and she has something for Reese’s.” “Okay so when is she getting discharged?” “Today apparently. We left Sophia’s driver with her to take her home.” “Why didn’t you stay?” “Because I have things to do and she didn’t want us there for long.” “Oh, so I can let Benji know she’s on her way home?” “I’ll call you when Gideon has dropped her off.” “And you won’t forget?” “No Coop I won’t forget.” I felt more at ease after I spoke to John, she’s better and going home, clearly those drips they had her on worked which is good.
I started to work on a plan to get her in as an intern but I need to get a way to pay her as well and pay for her last few months and if she’s as independent as they say she is then I have a hard case to prepare myself for. I wanted to go to my father for help but I decided against it, he was always my sounding board but with this, I need to do it myself. I just need to tell him he needs to hire her because he has the final say with the internship. Just before lunch John called me telling me Jojo is safely at home and I ca let Benji know. I didn’t know it but it was like I felt lighter when I heard she was out of hospital and doing better. I didn’t know this woman from Adam but still she had a huge effect on me. For some reason I didn’t mind it. Was it because she was Benji’s women that I didn’t mind. I didn’t want to go to deep into it so I called Benji. “Hi Coop how is she?” He answered the phone. “I take it you took my advice and slept last night.” “I did but I can still be angry if you don’t tell me what is going on with Jojo?” “She’s being discharged today, she’s already at home. Sophia left her driver there to take her home.” “Oh, that is great news. When I put the phone down the first thing I did was put her handle in on social media I wanted to see who the rest of the people are seeing. I got lost in her social media post, there were pictures of her at Uni, her studying, photos of her with kids giving out candy it looked like an orphanage but there was no mentioning of where it was taken. It was like she was doing deeds without people knowing where she’s doing it. There were even photos of a soup kitchen and her message was to always help those in need. There where random pics of things in Target, this account was totally different than the account I looked at before. On this account you wouldn’t even say she had designer clothes on because she didn’t advertise it. Nor did you see her with a designer bag. The only thing that was consistent is the fact that you could see she did her nails at a salon, that is the only thing I could see. I felt bad because I compared her to Olivia when she was far from someone like Olivia.
