Chapter 74
GORIOLA ADAMS
It's been two days I had a heart to heart talk with Davery. Even when he told me to calm down, I wasn't hundred percent in a good state of mind. I was bothered,
worried, scared, troubled. If Jade was truly pregnant after we had sex, then she didn't take any pill. Gori what do you expect? A virgin who has never had sex before, how would she knows the pill to take? It's your fault you didn't use protection. But how would I have known that once! Just once like that would lead to pregnancy. Not like I forgot about using protection, but I thought if I had stopped to decide to use one, she might have a change of mind, and I wanted it badly too. I just couldn't afford to be rejected at such moment.
Is just like having a cake right in front of you, and you go about looking for knife only to come back, and realize it has been taken away from you. To avoid that, I took the risk hoping she would eventually take a pill, but only to have the cake disorganized and shattered. But then, when I saw her, she was doing well, except that, Davery made me rethink and I felt it too. She must have been through hell! Yesterday, I got a call from Mom that she was in Lagos and wanted me to come over. I made her realize I was busy, and she was better knowing we all won't always be around. But then, I didn't like the idea of her coming over. I didn't like the idea of seeing bouncers, security men, policemen with guns, and having my compound filled with cars just because the first lady was around. So, I gave her a day I was going to come over.
While talking to her, I felt so troubled. What if Jade ended up saying yes Gori, I only
had sex with you, and the baby is yours. How would I break it down for mom? Mom was gonna kill me anyways. Whenever she was angry, or disappointed, she doesn't take chill at all, and it worries me a lot. When we spoke last, she suggested the second daughter of the famous tycoon business man to me. The Williams family were known for how wealthy their father was in oil and gas including many of his products flooded around the country. The two daughters were popularly known too. One aiming to be an actress. And the one she suggested, Natasha. She was popular, popularly known for her make-up cosmetics. Tasha.W cosmetics. Not. My. Type.
But then, I made myself clear. I was not, and never going to meet anyone at anywhere. If she had not started with any of my brothers, she better not start. Not with me. That night after the guys slept off, I was alone battling with my thoughts over Jade. I couldn't believe I spent up to two hours writing a message that wasn't up to twenty words. I just wanted to write it well. And because I was bad at expressing myself to a girl, I paid with my time. I didn't want to appear too vulnerable to her, but then fuck pride! She needed to know I miss her so much, and
I was dieing to see her. How guys are when it comes to matters of girls they like. Babe, I can't act too strong. My system is disorganized without you.
Since that day, I kept checking my phone for a reply from Jade, but it never came. I was disappointed. At least, I deserve a reply for that text. Lola had also been calling my line but I didn't pick. I was mad at her. I knew she didn't like Jade but I was still her brother, and she shouldn't have lied to me.
"Mr. Goriola Adams."
I chuckled a bit having heard the way it sounded. I couldn't believe he was still calling me that. It has been years, and I was glad he came over. I walked out of the kitchen in my boxer with a mug in my hand. "Moses how far now?
What's that! Which one is Mr. Goriola. If you are still calling me that, I feel like my old pops already. What's supping?"
He grinned with his teeth exposed as we hit our hands together, greeting each other. "I no fit sir!" Then he raised his two hands up. "I still respect you even if I'm not working for you anymore." He bowed playfully. "So good to see you again."
"My engineer! See as you fresh..." Shayo hailed as he walked downstairs.
"Las, las, Moses has taken all our girls." Des added, causing Moses to laugh before getting himself a Beta Malt from my fridge. I was excited when the guys gisted me that Moses took an engineering course, and has graduated.
Seeing him again and talking as guy to guy was better than when he had to help me do things. He was really faithful, and hardworking. He never made me feel bad, or complain even when I knew I was just too much with the way I speak, send him about, and have him beside me almost all the time then. Checking him out, he was good looking, fresh just like Shayo commented. He was putting on a blue jean, a black round top, with a jacket of the same colour with his jean, completing it with a black sneakers I knew cost a lot in the market. He was just dope. His teddy looking so smooth, with a normal haircut and just a bit of parting that made him look so hot.
I decided to whine him. "When are we meeting our girl?"
He laughed, and threw the can of malt inside the waste bin. "Guy, I'm following your steps o... Gather money before any babe comes in."
The guys laughed. None of us were going out so we just chilled at my place having fun. Moses was really fun to be with, and I really had respect for him. I wanted to appreciate him for all he did, and I thought of what I could give him. The guys told me he just started working. He was still under someone, and doesn't have a car yet, so I decided to get him one. When he got up to take his leave, I told him to wait a little while I rushed upstairs to get the key.
"Hey, catch this!" I threw the key from the stairs, and he did without knowing what it was yet. When he saw it, he looked at everyone, and they all nodded. Suddenly, he screamed happily, and ran to me. "Gori, for real!" He still couldn't believe it.
"For you," I replied, and he embraced me in a tight hug. I was glad to see him excited, and decided to share some of the plans I had for him. "I will introduce you to some engineers you can earn a lot through. We will talk about that on phone when I meet with them first. I hope we will see soon."
"I can just come here tomorrow," he joked, but he was more like he meant it. I laughed, shaking my head. "Moses don't start. Just go, and attend to what you want to attend to. We will see again, and talk about that."
He laughed, and we hit our hands once more, but this time, he hit my hand with more of his strength as a result of his excitement towards what he had in his hand. "I changed my destination," he voiced out. "Who's celebrating with me?"
Both Des, and Shayo raised their hands. "I need this hangout before another trip." Des took his IPhone, and followed behind Shayo as they left. After they left, it was I and Davery remaining. I guessed he noticed have been checking my phone all day because he was exactly right.
"She didn't reply your text."
"No," I shook my head. Part of me worried, and unhappy. I took the mug I used, and made my way towards the kitchen to rinse, and return it back. While I was in the kitchen, I could hear some voices. Davery couldn't have been speaking in three different ways, and at the same time. I heard steps in the kitchen but I didn't look back. Then I felt a hand stroking my exposed back. I was only in my boxer, and I do that a lot any time I was in my house. I had stopped rinsing but I didn't move. The soft flesh pressed on my body intentionally making me feel her breast on my body. It wasn't Sophie because I could hear her voice from afar. Sophie would never have done that anyways.
There are limits. I don't take this shit. Not in my house. Whoever was that went too far. I don't take what I never request for. At least, I have a choice and I wasn't a dog who takes anything.
Her hand came forward and was moving down. Not all guys fall for that. I yanked her hand away. My body couldn't take it any longer, and I couldn't fall for that. I turned around. Met with a strange lady who must have slept with countless men. She looked like it. She dressed like one. She seduced well. Any guy who can't take his eyes off anything in skirt would fall for that. I couldn't deal with watching her fallen breast. She had abused her skin by bleaching. Then she opened her mouth. "You are really handsome. God, you are so hot! I see why almost every girl likes you. I've been waiting all years for Sophie to bring me to you just to spend one night. Just one night with you, and I don't mind if you want me coming everyday."
I smirked at her. It was hard not to smirk cause I knew my next action. I couldn't believe she really wanted me to have her coming with such body everyday. Some girls just possibly think they can offer you stale meat, and expect to see you desperately take it just because they know you want some too. I could have just gone to a brothel if I want just anything. She tried to move closer, and this time, I shot her a dead look before she could lay her half burnt finger on my chest. "Get out of my house! And I don't repeat myself."
She stood there shocked! "Excuse me!"
I turned on the earpiece on my left ear, and picked up my phone. When she sees the security men, she should probably understand better. I left her standing in the
kitchen, but before I could make the call, she ran out of the kitchen and picked up her bag.
"Babe, what is it?" Sophie looked curious.
She must have glanced at me, but I wasn't looking. Then I heard her lies. "I really have to go now. I just remembered I have to be somewhere, and I still have to get some things, and fix some things and some people are waiting for me to give me some thing..."
She tried. Even though no one believed her, she was allowed to leave my house. Lola was there staring at me, and murmuring to me. "Gori, I'm sorry now. Why are you mad at me? I've really missed you."
Then Sophie asked. "You chased her away?" "She wanted a night with me."
"What!" Sophie sounded shocked. "I mean, she likes you, but Ire shouldn't have gone that far."
"Expect anything."
"Just like how Jade surprised everyone by sleeping with you despite her strong personality."
Jeez! I didn't expect that from her. That really triggered my anger badly. Like, can everyone just stop with that nonsense! They are no saints. I looked up at her, and I knew she saw my angry looks already. I was really angry at the statement she made. "Gori I'm so---"
"Just get out!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to. I was just--"
Lola laughed, interrupting Sophie. "Wonders shall never end. So she really slept with you. Like seriously...oh my gosh! What did I miss again?" Then she added another loud laughter.
She's so stupid. Just that stupid. But she was sister after all.
I called the securities anyway. They came faster than I expected. "Take them out." I pointed to both Lola, and Sophie. I never planned to repeat myself.
"Gori now, I'm sorry. I was just surprised. I didn't mean--" Lola was carried out of the sitting room before she could finish her sentence.
"That was too much." Davery sighed.
I turned to look at him getting up from the chair I sat on. "You think if I had not done that, they won't repeat such statement again. If Jade is ever going to come into my life, then they better get ready to respect her, and stop
referring to her that way. And I mean it! Anyone who talks about her that way ever again won't like my actions.
Please tell that gateman I don't want to ever see him in my life. He should leave my gate cause he's fired! Have had enough for today."
I picked up my phone, and headed upstairs. But I was wrong. I hissed at the message that entered, but I checked it anyways.
'Hi Gori, its been a long time. I hope you are good today? I'm free this weekend. Let me know where you find comfortable for us to meet. I can't promise you any other day aside this weekend cause I'm going back to school this Sunday.'
From Jadesola.
All my anger was suddenly gone. I felt like my day just started.
