Chapter 105

Chapter 105
Kieran

I stared at Hailey as she stretched the cup towards me with shaky hands, “You can take that away, Hailey, I feel better,” I said, turning my gaze away from her.

“Uhm… I'm sorry, my lord, but the injuries you sustained are more internal than external. This would help them heal faster,” she said, concern laced in her voice.

I turned my gaze back to her, but she just stood there staring at me with glassy eyes, “Please,” she added softly.

I replied with a light nod, took the medicine, and gulped it down in one go before taking water, “You happy now?!” I asked with raised brows.

“Never been better,” she replied with a smile.

“Call the witches on your way out, tell them I'd like to see them.”

“Uhm… by witches, you mean the seers, right?” she asked with confusion in her voice.

I turned my gaze to her, sharp and firm, “Seers, witches, magicians, they are all the same, Hailey. Now go!” I fired at her.

She left in a daze, slamming the door in fear as her footsteps faded away.

I slumped on my bed, facing the ceiling as a million thoughts went through my mind. Minutes later, a knock echoed from the door, making me sit upright.

“Come in,” I said.

The door flung open, making a freak sound as the two witches, or seers according to Hailey, walked into my room with their backs to me. I rolled my eyes at their traditions… This was one thing that got me sick of both of them. They don't step into anywhere they are summoned to with their faces; they always come in with their backs unless they were the ones who came to pass a message.

“We were told you summoned us, Alpha,” one of them said.

“Yes, I did. I need your expertise,” I replied. “Have a seat,” I said, gesturing to the couch in my chamber.

“There'd be no need for that, my lord,” the other replied.

I heaved a deep sigh, not ready to go through this cycle with them right now. “Okay fine… I’ll just get straight to it. I need you to find someone from the inside I could use to get my son and his mother back into this pack.”

“What do you mean?” they asked in unison.

“Your powers. I know you have the power to look into the past and get me any of the Umbra wolf’s enemies that would be perfect for this job, someone with a great vendetta against him who would be willing to go to any extent to see him defeated. But the person has to be human,” I explained. “Can you do that for me?” I added.

“Well, we can, but my lord, what you ask requires great black magic, which could be dangerous for both of us,” they replied.

“Well, aren't you like ancient witches? Using some black magic wouldn't hurt. Besides, I've seen you do a few for my father in his time. Doing this for me shouldn't be any different. Listen, I just want to get my family back together and give this pack the alpha they truly need. That's all,” I said with a firm voice.

“We understand that, my lord, but that comes with a cost. Do you really not care what happens to us right after this? You promised!” they sneered, reminding me of the promise I made when I asked them to work for me…

I promised not to treat them like an object like my father did. I sighed deeply as I ran my hands through my hair, anger and frustration flowing through my veins as I stared up at the ceiling. “Okay fine, here’s what’s going to happen. Do this for me, and you can ask me for anything in return. I mean anything,” I offered.

They both stared at each other, using their powers to shut me off their subconscious as they both talked with their eyes, making faces that suggested they were at least considering my offer.

After what felt like forever, they both turned in my direction with firm expressions on their faces. “Help us create a baby,” they both blurted out, making me freeze in shock.

“Wait, what!?” I asked with furrowed brows. “What did you say?” I asked, unsure if I’d just heard right.

“You heard us, my lord. Help us create a baby, and we’d go to any length in bringing your family back together. But no one must know about this…” they replied.

I let out a light chuckle as I stared at both of them, seriously hoping deep down that they were just blurting, but they only stood there with firm looks on their faces. “You’re serious?” I asked with raised brows.

“Very,” they said in unison.

“Are you trying to mock me or what? I can’t even have a child with my own mate, Selene, and that’s the reason I’m trying to get my family back together so this pack can get an alpha when I’m gone, and you’re asking me to give you a child?! Have you suddenly gone mad?!” I snarled.

“Your infertility with the Luna isn’t because you aren’t fertile, my lord. It’s because you weren’t made for each other. Now, you don’t have to mate with us if you don’t want to; all we need is your sperm and magic,” they said.

“You both must be drunk,” I snarled. “You want me to commit such an abomination? To create a hybrid? Do you even hear yourselves?” I fired at them.

“Oh come on, my lord. If we do this, we could both lose our lives, so using our magic to create a life while we are gone to continue our lineage isn't that big of a deal. Also, it would be a plus for you because you’re going to have two children and you can have whichever gender be the seer of the pack. You don’t have to tell them you’re their father if you don’t want to,” they explained. “In the end, it’s up to you, and you know that. After all, this is what we signed up for, to serve you till death. But please, don’t make us die and let the pack forget about us just like that. Whatever gender we produce will possess so much power, so much that even if you lose the battle with the Umbra wolf now, you wouldn’t lose it when this child turns eighteen. Think about it like an investment. Plus, your son being a crimson Alpha together with a powerful hybrid, this pack would be unstoppable,” they added…

“You’re doing him a favor by giving him a sibling to fight with him,” the other seer said. “Death is such a big ask, my lord, but we would accept to die for you if you do this one thing for us,” she added.

A few days later

I led Diane to the pack house in order to strategize a great plan to stop the wedding tomorrow. And by this, I guess you already answered the question in your head right now.

Yes - I took the offer. The witches are hatching my child even at the verge of death, and in a few days' time, my child would be born. And yes, I said a few days because that’s how magic babies work, apparently; they don’t take much time.

I didn’t tell anyone about this because no one needed to know about this. All that’s playing in my head right now is getting Evie back in my arms. I guess I’m not so different from Diane as I thought; if nothing else, we are both desperate - I thought.

We got to the pack house after a few hours' walk. I placed the city map on the table as I looked up at her, knowing everything about her past and present and her relationship with Lucian and how she’s just murdered her own father…

“She’s dangerous, you know,” Jai said, but I just tried to shut him up and focused on what was at stake…. “This is the problem I have with you, Kieran: you never listen…”

“Shut up, Jai. She may be dangerous, but I’m a werewolf and she’s not, so allow me to focus,” I shot back at him.

I took my gaze back to Diane, who at this point began to explore anything her hands could touch. “Where do you think the wedding is going to take place?” I asked.

She turned in my direction with a smile on her face. “A church downtown, according to my source, which is kinda weird because I never thought Lucian was the kind who goes to church,” she replied.

“Okay great, I’ll need you to organize your father’s men. They’ll handle Lucian, and I and my pack would handle Evie and my son and bring them home,” I replied.

“That’s a great idea, but killing Lucian… I don’t think that’s a great idea. I’d love to make him suffer so hard he’d beg for death…” she said.

“Oh, I know that. Plus, you won’t be able to kill him considering the kind of power he possesses. I have a plan saved up for him in the future, but for now, let’s focus on getting Evie and my son back to the pack,” I replied.

“Oh come on, Handsome. I know you really don’t need the chick. I can see it in your eyes; you only really care about your son. So why don’t we just take out the bitch and then… we can take it up from there? I’m sure you’d enjoy my… you know what, scrap that, you’ll love my company,” she said, walking seductively towards me, placing her hands on my chin. Her mouth reeked of weed.

“You must be high,” I sneered.

“Oh yes, honey, highly in love with you,” she said with a chuckle.

“You’re clearly drunk. I’ll have my guards take you safely back home,” I said, but she immediately pulled me closely towards her as she leaned closer to my face. But just as our lips were about to touch, the door flung open and someone walked in.

“What’s going on here?” A familiar voice echoed in my ears. The minute I turned, I locked eyes with Selene, who stood in front of me with shock in her eyes.
