Chapter 18. Blue blood

POV Author.

Cynthia this time had to go back and forth between the hospital and home. What else can she do? Calix was still in the hospital and needed special care, while her two children were at home with Reyna.

It's not that Cynthia doesn't want to take her children to the hospital, but at the hospital itself, there is a ban, namely not allowing young children to stay in the room for too long.

Just visiting is permissible, five to ten minutes, more than that then a security guard will come.

Besides, the hospital is not a healthy environment for their children. Cynthia also doesn't want her children to do anything wrong.

Cynthia doesn't want her child to get sick later. So Cynthia would just take her child on visits and drive him home with Reyna.

Luckily Reyna helped her, the woman wanted to take care of her child until late, it had been two days since her son had been in the hospital.

Cynthia was lucky to have an emergency savings she would use at a time like this. If not, somehow it will happen.

What's more, the doctor also said that dengue fever requires special treatment. Of course, Cynthia was worried about that.

Moreover, Cynthia has no one to tell stories. Cynthia immediately got out of the taxi when she arrived at the hospital. The woman walked into the hospital carrying a change of clothes for herself and Calix.

"What's so crowded?" muttered Cynthia as she walked through the lobby.

In the lobby, at this time, there were no patients because it was already break time. Cynthia saw several nurses who were having a serious conversation.

"Are you sure? Don't be silly, okay!" Cynthia could faintly hear the words of a nurse who seemed to be refuting some news.

"I saw him freak out!" said the nurse, holding her cell phone tightly.

Cynthia slowed her steps to eavesdrop on everything the nurse was talking about. Cynthia's curiosity suddenly appeared. It was as if the news that was brought this time was very shocking to see the expressions of the various nurses.

"Maybe you were just looking at it?"

"No! I believe in Luna. Has he ever been careless at work?”

"Perhaps ..."

"What? Don't be like that, you scared me!"

Feeling that there was no important information, Cynthia immediately walked away from the lobby. “Actually, what made them so excited? Ah, come on. There's nothing in it for me anyway."

Arriving at her child's ward, there was already a doctor and nurse talking. Cynthia immediately approached them and saw the condition of her child.

"What's going on, Doc?" Cynthia asked frantically.

As far as she could remember, her son's condition had improved, and the doctor had also said that her son was better than before.

The doctor even agreed that her son would not use an IV tube for Calix because her condition was not as bad as yesterday. Akh, more precisely Calix who kept whining asking for the infusion to be released.

As a doctor, of course, she strictly forbade it, but Calix kept on whining and in the end, the doctor allowed it.

"What's wrong with my son, Doc? Has the fever gone up again?” asked Cynthia again.

Cynthia remembered the doctor's words which stated that this fever could go up and down at any time.

“Ah, pardon the inconvenience, madam. Earlier the nurse at this hospital said there was something strange about your son," he explained.

Cynthia looked at the doctor and nurse alternately, is there something wrong? What do they mean? Cynthia's eyes immediately turned to her son who was fast asleep. "What's wrong with my son?"

"Um, so it's like this, madam, when I was about to check on your son's condition, I accidentally saw a blue spot on the sheet. That's quite a lot, so I reported it to the doctor. Akh, just like this, in short, your son's blood is blue. You see, the syringe I threw away yesterday is also blue!” said the nurse confidently.

Cynthia who heard that was of course very surprised. What exactly was the nurse talking about? Blood? Blue? Seriously!

Cynthia looked at the nurse in disbelief. "How could it be? You're so far-fetched. Are you kidding me? Didn't you do the lab test yesterday? Red, right?" asked Cynthia. The woman couldn't stop thinking about what the nurse said.

What does blue blood mean? They weren't in the mood to joke with Cynthia, were they?

The doctor nodded in response, it's true, yesterday there were no problems during the laboratory test. Calix's blood was red, as usual.

"But yesterday I saw that your son's IV needle had a blue liquid in it, and now there is a lot of it on the sheet, madam. You can see for yourself,” said the nurse with a chuckle.

The nurse showed her the bed sheet her son had slept on, there were indeed quite a few blue spots on them. Cyntia was increasingly confused by this situation.

"How could that be?" Cynthia asked, confused. How can there be enough blue blotches?

"I concluded because yesterday the madam's child had just removed the IV tube, usually your son's hand was still bleeding. Did you not notice the tone of the blue spot on the bed yesterday?" the nurse asked Cynthia.

Cynthia shook her head as an answer, indeed Cynthia also didn't pay attention to that detail, Cynthia didn't pay attention to her son's wound.

"That's dried up too, isn't it likely that the blood dripped out long enough already?" The nurse's opinion.

Cynthia shook her head slowly, what she heard made no sense! How can blood turn blue? Wasn't her son fine yesterday?

Blue? Akh, Cynthia's head was dizzy thinking about that.

Cynthia looked at the doctor as if asking for an explanation, but the doctor only shook his head slightly. Cynthia also doesn't know what the doctor meant.

"Doc?" called Cynthia as if asking for an explanation.

"Sorry for the inconvenience, madam. On behalf of Nurse Luna and the hospital, I apologize. But I think this is a misunderstanding. No blood is blue, what else has changed? Yesterday your son's blood was, as usual, nothing blue. So this is a mere misunderstanding,” explained the doctor.

Cynthia was a little relieved when the doctor said that. After all, during her life, Cynthia had never seen blue blood. Isn't that weird?

“I have handled various cases and there is no blue blood. So for Nurse Luna, this might just be your feeling, don't escalate this matter.”

Luna? Cyntia didn't hear that name when she entered the lobby again. What does he mean?

"But, Doc, then what is it?" The doctor chuckled while looking at the blue stain.

"It could be ink. Now, don't worry about this anymore. Oh yes. Ma'am, it looks like we have to do another laboratory test tomorrow."
