Chapter 51 Chapter 51

Chapter 51 Chapter 51
Kael’s pov

I walked into the training room to see Dorian standing there with a wooden sword in his hand.

“What are you doing here?” he asked without even turning to look at me. He had taken in my scent and knew that I was here to train as well.

I shrugged. “I’m here to distract myself.”

He chuckled, then turned to me. “So this is your best idea, to run away from your problems.”

I shook my head. “I’m not here to run away from anything. I just want to train.”

He then tossed his wooden sword to the ground. “You can train alone. You can have the whole space. I’d rather go out into the woods and fight a buffalo or something.”

But before he could pass by my side, I placed a hand on his chest and kept him in place. He looked at me with raised brows.

“Are you looking for a fight or something?”

I looked into his eyes. His eyes filled with stormy orbs. “How about you and I spar?”

He scoffed. “With the frustration I’m feeling right now, I feel like I might kill the alpha and end up being the alpha. In case you don’t want that kind of heat on you, how about you let me go? I have other important things to do.”

I shook my head. “Please, just this once. We’ll spar and we’ll talk out whatever hinge is between us.”

He hesitated before nodding.

I walked deeper into the sparring ring. As I entered, I removed my shirt and tossed it to the side, then got ready for whatever attack he would lay out on me.

He didn’t hold back. His speed was incalculable as he rushed into me, but I had something by my side, and that was experience. Ducking and weaving out of his hit points, I gave him an uppercut and then followed with a left hook that had him slamming into the ground.

He jumped to his feet immediately, zipping around the ring and giving me a triple kick, which had me slipping backwards as he followed with a roundhouse kick that hit my midsection, but I slammed my foot into the ground, holding myself from being flung away like a piece of feather.

He stayed before me, his breathing heavy, and so was mine. We stared into each other’s eyes, anger filling up the entire arena.

Then he raised a brow, “Had enough?”

I shook my head. “I need more. Why don’t we just have a normal spar, and we can talk out our problems?”

That seemed to work. He smiled as he got ready for the second round.

He rushed in with a left hook that I knew was a feint, which had me zipping towards the hook while grabbing his right hand and slamming him into the ground.

He stayed there for a while, not getting up, before I turned around to crack my back.

“Had enough?”

He chuckled, sitting up with one leg folded under him and a hand on top of his knee. “I think we should rest. This isn’t going to get anywhere for either of us. The anger I feel right now is too much. I might end up, like I said earlier, killing the alpha. I don’t want that to happen.”

I raised a brow and put my hands on my waist as I tried to control my heavy breathing. “What’s your problem? What happened?”

He scoffed. “What happened is you. You are what’s happened. You’ve done this thing time and time again where you talk to Selene like you love her and then you make empty promises to her and you toss her away like a piece of trash. Can you explain to me why you keep doing that to her? Has she done anything to deserve your wrath?”

I rolled my eyes, looking away from him. “Dorian, my personal and love life is not your business.”

He pushed himself up, coming to face me, as I could see every single bead of sweat on his face.

“It is my business. Every single thing you do in this pack is my business because it affects me as a beta and it affects every single person in this fucking pack. So, now that Selene is out of your life, how do you feel?”

I frowned. “What do you mean out of my life?”

He laughed mockingly. “You didn’t know? She’s packed her things and gone out of here. She’s no longer in this pack.”

I gritted my teeth and shook my head. “That’s a lie. Selene will never leave.”

He shrugged. “Her room is right there, the one that you gave to her, while your own room was given to Eliara.”

I raised my hand to stop him. “It wasn’t given to Eliara. It was just a temporary placement for Mara to work her magic on her. That was all.”

He shrugged. “Well, Mara has worked her magic. What is going to happen to her now? Is Mara going to keep treating her in your room?”

“ You know that I gave her a different room.”

“Of course I know,” he spat out. “I’m just tired of listening to your excuses. Well, Selene is tired too. Selene has gone. She’s no longer in this pack. So, instead of disturbing us with your problems, how about you give us a Luna? Anyone will do.”

I refused to believe that Selene would leave the pack. I knew that her words were threats, but I refused to believe that they were real threats she would carry out.

He then shook his head and stepped back. “I have other things to do instead of arguing here with the Alpha.”

He walked away with a heavy sigh.

I walked after him, running into the packhouse and getting to Selene’s room, it was open. The door was a bit ajar as I pushed it open and entered to see that… he was right. She had packed all her things and gone away.

Now I was angry. Why would she just leave like that? There had to be a way to get back to her.

I brought out my phone and called her line, as it rang, but she didn’t pick. I called again, and she still didn't pick up, before I sent her a text telling her that we needed to talk. I could see that she had seen the message, but she refused to answer, which had me knowing that things were about to get worse.
