Chapter 131: Ultimantum
Chapter 131: Ultimantum
Cara pov
The voice of Emma pierced through the battlefield.
“Brother”
Wolves of different sizes jumped out of the nearby hills and mountains. They were viciously wolves, and of course, their peculiar scent of rogues permeated the air. But that was not the most stinking and distinguished thing that gave me a momentary pause. The main thing was the fine young man leading the wolf's.
“Alpha Garreth!”
His name left my mouth before I could stop it. Even the spiky haired warrior had to stop. Because of the sudden intrusion. He was still the same. His curly hair stood out, making him presentable. He wore a thick animal skin as an armor that did nothing to hide his bulging muscles.
“How dare you bully my sisters” he scowled at Alpha Black and his cohorts before lunging at them in an intense battle of the strongest. The tempo of the war changed as I spotted a frown on the spiky warrior's face.
“Plan not going as planned?” I taunted, now that the pressure had been moved away immensely, especially Alpha Black who had been rampaging throughout the battlefield was now occupied, by Garreth who was going tempo to tempo with him, nine having the upper hand.
“Hahaha, you think your petty tricks and help could save you” he gave a hideous laugh.but from what I could see, the smile didn't reach his eyes.
“We will see about it” I smiled before tapping once again into my bloodline. I exploded with immense power, pushing him back two steps. I didn’t wait for him to recover before I followed up with a barrage of sword technique, pushing him back further.
“Aahhhh” he screamed. Now his relaxed posture was gone. And he looked enraged, almost mad. His half face was charred by the burn from my fire, and from the smoke still coming out of the wound, it was not healing. His one eye was gone, followed by half of his face. He had underestimated and had paid the price for it.
My bloodline was humming inside me, fueled by my anger and zeal to avenge the death of my parents. Their murderer was standing in front of me, still breathing, and I would not rest until I destroyed him.
“I will destroy you, pureblood. you forced me to do this. I will make sure you die together like how your predecessor did.” he lunged at me. But suddenly, everything around me disappeared, or rather froze. Movement, sound, time, everything was frozen. I was in a trance, standing on top of a hill where the white-haired handsome man was standing like a king, overlooking the whole of Ellorin. his ridiculously long sword above him, vertically, as he swung down. Leveling a nearby mountain.
I gasped at the level of power tha must have been in the sword to cause the level of destruction, while I was still in my world, I felt an I tense gaze that felt like it was looking straight at me. My soul shook from the intensity.
Immediately, I was teleported out of the dream-like state back into the battlefield. I was momentarily confused until I saw the spiky haired warrior running towards me with a small dagger in hand. My eyes were literally up as it suddenly dawned on me. This was the exact knife that Ryder had used to kill Debby. It had passed through the enchanted barrier, and truck Debby. Refusing to heal.
A deep sense of fear I could not explain came over me immediately, no matter how I tried to move all to no avail. The dagger was deadly to cupbearers, and if it touched me , I would be a goner.
“Cara, dodged the dagger. It's poisonous,” Garreth shouted, but I couldn’t control my body. He was already close, I closed my eyes, ready to embrace death as it was already too late. But the pain never came.
Opening my eyes, I saw Alpha Black. His back was impaled by the dagger. He had used his body to shield me at the last minute. I stared wide-eyed at Alpha Black, heard a look of apology, and looked like he wanted to say something, but life immediately left him. He collapsed, dead.
“Foolish idiot” The spiky haired warrior shrieked “ What have you done.”
No matter how many times I tried to wake up from this sleep, it felt real. The battle going on around me was a testament that it was all true. Alpha Black had sacrificed himself for me, saving me from meeting my doom. A drop of tears escaped my eyes.
Even though he recently treated me like a slave and sided with the wrong guys, there was a time when Alpha Black was a good alpha and caretaker to me. He saved me from my destroyed pack and fed and clothed me. I even get to have my own room. But it's had all changed one certain day. I had become the pack laughing stock and degraded from living in the alphas house to living in the servant quarters.
I had not known the true reason, but now I knew. that it was because of a higher power all this time. He was forced to do all these things, like a puppet.
How many other good people did the master turn into a puppet? I felt the anger rising inside of me. It was like I had ever seen, and it scared me a little, but I knew what to do with it. Closing my eyes, I envisioned the sword technique of ne white haired man, whom I have deduced to be a special child. This was the last sword stance he used before he met his doom.
“You will die, just like the foolish coward did, you can't escape your fate”the spiky warrior bellowed. But I was indifferent to whatever was happening, channeling my fire into my sword.
“Die” he lunged at me. At the same time, I opened my eyes, executing the sword technique like I had seen in my moment of dreamlike state.
It was like a peaceful sword that was swung with no force. The spiky warrior smiled seeing that I had executed a weak swing, but his laughter turned into horror when the sword reached him, like a hot knife through butter, it pierced through him, killing him on the spot.
The battlefield seemed to be quiet as everybody struggled to believe what they were seeing. The spiky warrior men seeing their dead general had no choice but to flee.
“Chase them , don't let any one of them escape” I commanded, immediately going after the retreating wolves. The tempo of the battle changed in our favor. We chased them far into the great forest, killing more than half of the enemies.
I stood on a hilly ground, overlooking the burning alliance pack below me. We had won this war, but at what cost. We lost about one-fourth of our warriors, but we killed more than ninety percent of the enemies.
Alpha Alexander, with the commander, and the whole people , were awaiting my command. The two sisters were bundled with their brother, refusing to leave his side. Seeing him alive removed a weight I didn't know had been in my heart all this time. It warmed my heart to see their happy faces reuniting with their big brother.
It turns out he was saved by the mountain wolf's ad they call themselves. They live in the distant mountains and isolate themselves from the politics of Ellorin. We exchanged signs of greeting as the remaining commanders assembled together, the urge for war eager on their faces.
Garreth stood beside me, always loyal and ready to help me in addressing the pack. Everybody was waiting for the big speech, it was all written on their faces but I had no fancy speech, nor any special thing to say.
“We have defeated the Alliance of the eatery part of Ellorin. They were the most powerful organisation, and now we have defeated them, other smaller groups will come running with their tails behind their legs.
“We will not rest until we get our home back. We might have defeated the Alliance but that is not the true enemy. Our enemy is the western district. And if we don't meet the unawares, we will become pretty soon.”
“What should we do Luna, anything and it shall be done. We owe you our life today.”
One of the commanders, Richard, stepped forward.
“This is a war between the west and the east, a fight for our home and our survival. For our Alpha who is captive.”
“For our alpha” they echoed, their faces filled with renewed vigor.
“Hear my commande, any pack that refuses to fight alongside for our freedom will be deemed a traitor and shall be treated as such. The west needs war. We will bring it to them.”
Brian was not here. I had thought that the alliance held him captive but after searching around, he was nowhere to be found. That could only mean one thing.
He was in the west.
