Chapter 10 Hamilton
Mia looked, scouring the vicinity with wide eyes.
The buildings were similar, shining with luxury and class.
Lined up in blocks, they had different names hanging above the doors and windows, with evidence that not everyone could access them.
“Where is this place?” She asked without looking at Russell, her eyes on the edifice in front of them.
Russell cleared his throat, holding onto the smile that appeared a few seconds earlier.
“You don’t know where we are?”
“Am I supposed to?” Mia turned to him, and a cold stare took over.
The Alpha sighed. “Everyone knows this place.” He paused for a while, his brows arching above his wide eyes.
“Have you only been around Willow Pack all through your life after I took you there? Haven’t you been around Luna City?”
Mia looked away, but it was obvious that she hadn’t been outside Willow Pack.
The realization suddenly hit her, and she huffed.
“All I ever did was do whatever made Darrell happy.” She muttered, her countenance twisting into a smirk.
“I lived for him so much that I forgot what it meant to live for myself.” She sighed, shaking her head slowly.
Russell stared at her attentively, listening while he felt the sensation gripping him slowly.
He sighed heavily, his eyes still fixed on Mia whose eyes had turned sour while she attempted to suppress her tears.
“I am sorry you had to go through all of that, Mia. That guy doesn’t deserve you.”
Mia scoffed, turning to the Alpha. “You don’t know that, Alpha Russell. You are just saying it to make you make me feel better.”
“Well, is it working?”
“No.” Mia gave a quick response, and then she reclined to the seat.
Russell stared for a few seconds, and then he unbuckled his seatbelt, unstrapping it slowly.
“Come on, Mia.” He grabbed the handle and pulled.
Then he turned to Mia. “Let’s go.”
Mia looked around her, and after staring at the cars parked by the corners, she cleared her throat.
“What is happening here?”
“You will get to find out.” Russell alighted from the car, and then he stood by the corner waiting for her.
Mia folded her arms, pretending like she didn’t see Russell staring at her.
After a while, she grunted, taking a deep breath.
She battled the reluctance inside her and alighted from the car.
Slowly, she walked up to the Alpha and took a deep breath.
“Where did you get these?” She pointed to the brown heels she was putting on, slowly lifting her right foot to take a closer look.
“I hope they don’t belong to your mistress.” She frowned, piercing into the Alpha’s eyes.
Russell chuckled softly, taking a deep breath.
“No, Mia. They don’t belong to Nelly. They belong to my sister, Alara. You should get to meet her someday. She will be happy to see you.”
“Is she a monster too?” Mia asked, draining the color from the Alpha’s face.
Russell sighed heavily, his dark expression lingering for a while.
Then he took a deep breath and cleared his throat.
“Come on, Mia. Let’s go.” He took the first three steps before he turned to be sure Mia was following him.
Her steps were sluggish, her eyes looking down at the colorful gown the Alpha had given her.
It was almost oversized, flowing under the effect of the wind.
As they got closer to the door, Mia looked up at the signboard hanging on the building.
“Hamilton couture.” She read, and she was moved to read the other signboards as well.
“Hamilton Diners, Hamilton Jewelry, Hamilton…” She gasped, turning to the Alpha.
“Do you own all of these?” She asked, prompting Russell to turn to her slowly.
“My family does,” He retorted casually, increasing his steps toward the entrance.
Mia sighed heavily, almost overwhelmed by the revelation.
She had heard about the vast riches that Russell Hamilton possessed, but she never thought that he owned almost all the establishments in that part of the City.
They were in the middle of Luna City, where the economy flourished, and where the elite lived, including the Humans who could afford to pay the huge price for their freedom.
“He is filthy rich,” Mia muttered, following up slowly.
When she saw the two guards standing at the entrance of the building, she was gripped by a little nervousness, seeing that they had their eyes on her, seeming like they were ignorant of the Alpha’s approach.
Suddenly they bowed like their lives depended on it.
“Welcome, Alpha Russell!” Their voices united, their heads remained on the ground until the Alpha was close enough.
One of them grabbed the handle of the door and pushed, moving out of the way for the Alpha to walk through.
Russell turned to Mia and reached forward to grab her hand, a smile etched on his face.
She ignored his gesture and walked passed him, getting into the building before him.
The guards arched their brows, staring at the strange omega with wide eyes.
When Russell turned to them, they looked away at once, turning their eyes to the ground.
“Make sure no one comes into this place.” He instructed, getting into the building at once.
He met Mia staring with wide eyes, fascinated not just by the interior of the place, but also the dresses she saw on display.
She was so engrossed that she didn’t notice Russell standing behind him until he cleared his throat, almost startling her.
“Do you like what you see?” He asked, but Mia ignored him, returning her eyes to the lovely dresses she could see in the glass box.
Just then, someone walked up to them, staring at Mia with several questions running through her mind.
Clad in a nice pink suit, she clanked her heels, her hands clasped in front of her.
Then she bowed to the Alpha, moving her hands to the back. “Welcome, Alpha Russell.”
“Thank you, Rena.” Russell cleared his throat and waited until Rena lifted her face and stood erect.
“I want you to take Mia here inside and get her the best outfits available. I need you to do a total makeover. Shoes, handbags, clothes, and even lingerie. Everything.”
Rena nodded, turning to Mia with so many thoughts running through her mind.
She took a deep breath, forcing Mia to look away due to her long stare.
Russell cleared his throat to draw Rena’s attention. “Rena?” He called out. “Did you hear me?”
“Yes! Yes, Alpha Russell.” Rena sighed heavily, and then she returned her gaze to Mia.
“Please come with me, Miss.” She led the way, but Mia needed to give the Alpha a piece of her mind.
She waited until Rena was far enough, and then she grunted.
“Lingerie? Really?!” She clenched her right fist, but she met only silence from the Alpha.
“I didn’t tell you that I needed you to buy me expensive things, Alpha Russell.” She growled at him, glaring intensely.
Russell nodded with a smirk. “Technically, I am not buying them, Mia.” He looked around, pointing to one of the lovely dresses by the corner.
“I think that’s going to look very nice on you, Mia. You should try it.” He turned to Rena and snapped to get her attention.
“Get her that dress, Rena!”
“Yes, Alpha Russell!”
