Chapter 51 - Fancy

Natasha's POV

Valerian would not tell me where we were going exactly, he just drove back to the hotel to get all of our things and checked out, and now we're at the port.

I even got sad for a second thinking we were already going home but he reassured me that we were not and we were only going somewhere which I guessed was far from here because we checked out of the hotel.

It's already dark at night outside but I can see a few boats and some kinds of sea vehicles tied at the dock.

"What are we doing here?" I can't help but ask. "Is it where you want to take me? Is this your surprise?"

Valerian looked at me like as if he couldn't believe me and everything that was coming out of my mouth. "Of course not, darling."

Okay, sorry but I don't mind having a date here at the port. What is his problem?

"Let's go," Valerian said and opened the car door at his side.

I did the same and followed him.

A chauffeur was waiting for us outside to whom Valerian gave his keys.

Valerian then unloaded all of our luggage from his car.

"Come here," Valerian called and so I walked to his side.

He held me by the waist as we walked and carried all of our luggage in one hand.

I don't know if he just wanted to hold me by the waist or if he just really meant to do that so he could carry all the luggage using only one hand and flex his strength.

Oh, this devil.

Valerian and I did a few minutes of walking until we reached the dock.

My eyes widened when I saw a yacht tied at the dock.

Oh gosh.

This is what I'm talking about when I said that every time Valerian pulled his phone out, I get surprised by how wealthy he is.

I've already witnessed how rich he was a little too many times but I still can't get used to it.

Well, you can't blame a woman who came and grew up in a small town that wasn't that innovative and only enough to give us our needs for daily life.

"You own that?" I asked, astonishment clearly visible in my voice.

Valerian nodded like it was no big deal. As always. He is always unbothered by the luxurious things that he owns unlike me who is always in shock.

Well, I'm sure he's already used to all of his wealth. He lived a hundred years of his life after all.

"Wow. . ." I could just mutter.

"This will be all yours soon, darling," Valerian told me.

I suddenly fell silent as we continued to walk at the dock toward the yacht.

He told me that I would have everything that he owned when we agreed to have a contract before but I also told him that I didn't want any of his wealth and all I wanted was his head. . .

I bit my lower lip.

Fuck this.

I said I wanted to enjoy this trip and make the most out of it but it seems like my mission won't let me be.

It really has a way of reminding me about my shitty reality.

"Natasha?"

I heard Valerian call my name, snapping me out of my trail of thoughts.

"Are you alright? I've been calling you several times," Valerian said, worry visible in his voice.

I guess I got a little sad for a second thinking about my mission that I did not even know that I spaced out.

I cleared my throat and composed myself before I flashed a smile at Valerian. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just had a thought about something."

"What is it? Don't you like being here? Are you not comfortable riding a yacht too?" Valerian bombarded me with questions and I could not help but chuckle.

And I'm honestly glad he's being so clingy and talkative right now because it's like I just forgot my worries already.

"No, no. It's not that," I reassured him as I shook my head. "I just thought of a stupid thing. It was nothing. Don't worry about it."

"Are you sure?" Valerian questioned. "You spaced out while walking." Valerian suddenly sounded so serious and went back to his authoritative voice as if telling me to do not lie to him and play with him.

I nodded once again, almost immediately. "Yes, I'm sure, Valerian."

Because of the way he acts I almost totally forgot that he is still Valerian Fenrir. The stern and authoritative devil.

"Alright then, let's go."

I guess I really must have spaced out because I didn't even notice that we were already beside the yacht.

It's like I shut down just thinking about my mission.

I hate it.

I took a deep breath and kicked the thought of my mission to the back of my head.

"Let's go, I'm excited." I walked up to the yacht and Valerian did not forget to assist me.

This devil can be a real gentleman.

"Here, let me give you a hand," I offered as I reached out my hand to Valerian wanting to help him with my suitcases.

"No, thank you. I got it," he refused.

I mentally rolled my eyes.

What was I thinking? Of course, he would refuse. He is damn Valerian Fenrir.

Valerian was right when he said he got it because he managed to put all of our luggage on the yacht without any sign of struggle.

I noticed how his triceps flexed when he carried both my very heavy suitcases at the same time.

Gosh, he really has a good physique, and one more thing that I love about his body besides his six-pack abs is his biceps. I love holding them when he is on. . . top of me.

I cleared my throat at my thought.

I can't be thinking about it when he's literally right in front of my face.

Gosh, good thing he can't read my mind otherwise I would want to disappear if he happened to know what I was thinking.

Valerian and I entered the yacht and I was in total awe upon seeing the interior.

It was so elegant and luxurious with all white and gold furniture and decorations inside.

It was so beautiful, it was like a whole luxurious house inside!

Oh gosh.

"Wow. . ." I muttered.

It's so breathtaking.

"Do you like it?" Valerian asked.

"Like it? You must be kidding because I love it!" I roamed my eyes around the place. "Wow. . . just wow."

"I'm glad you like it, darling," Valerian said. "I must admit that I was a little hesitant to get this at first because it was all new but I think this is worth it."

"Wow. This is new?"

Well, it looks like it is because everything that is inside looks new and looks like they haven't even been touched because of how clean they are.

"It must be thrilling to have such a nice thing like a yacht," I muttered. "How does it feel like?" I questioned as I continued to roam my eyes and started to walk around.

Valerian chuckled awkwardly which made me turn my head in his direction.

"What?" I asked.

"Well, I've own a few. But, like I said-- this is all new, a new model so it feels really thrilling like you said, darling."

I bit my lips before my jaw could open and reach the floor.

Valerian Fenrir is a fucking billionaire!

"Are we the only ones here?" I asked when I noticed that there was not a single person around-- and also trying to change the topic because I could not seem to comprehend how wealthy Valerian was anymore.

"Yes, darling."

I looked at Valerian sternly at his answer. "I think I know what you're trying to do."

"Oh, you really are a smart woman, huh." He chuckled. Tell me what is it, Natasha?"

I rolled my eyes at him.

"Well, I will be your captain, baby. So we are no need for anyone to be with us today."

"Gosh, what can't you do, Valerian?" I asked playfully.

I noticed how Valerian's face changed for a second but his expression quickly went back to being playful.

What just happened?

Why did he look kind of. . . sad?

"You tell me what I can't do, Natasha." He let out a boyish chuckle.

I rolled my eyes playfully at him, trying to ignore the sudden change in his expression just a minute ago.

"Are we going to sail right now?" I asked. "At night?"

Valerian shook his head which was much of my disappointment.

"We can't sail this night. It's too risky because of the weather. It's not safe," he explained.

"Oh. . . okay." I tried not to sound disappointed but my voice betrayed me so I quickly cleared my throat. "So where are we staying tonight, then?"

"Here," Valerian answered.

"Here?"

"Yes, here. We have a room here, darling."

My face lightened up, gone were all the disappointments.

"Wow, really?"

"Yes, really. Would you like to see it?"

I quickly nodded.

Being in this country with Valerian feels like being a child again and discovering the world for the first time.

I'm grateful. My childhood was not a bit close to something like this.
