Chapter 120 Redemption
Chapter 120 Redemption
Freya POV.
Logan and Rune stand. Preparing to return to the fortress.
Before they leave, Logan pulls Rune close. Kisses her. Tender. Unhurried. She smiles against his mouth. Touches his face.
They don't know I'm watching. Don't know anyone's watching.
This is just them. Real. Unguarded.
Marcus was right. This is worth dying for.
The Alpha and Luna disappear into the fortress. I'm alone with my thoughts.
Two more days until exile. Two more days to provide final intelligence. Say goodbye to Marcus one last time. Then leave Ironfang territory forever.
I've been making plans. Exile doesn't mean hiding.
Cassandra provided a map of Viktor's known territories. Garrick secured supplies. Weapons. Silver. Provisions for months.
I'll head to Shadowfen first. Viktor's secondary base. Disrupt his operations. Free any prisoners he's holding. Gather intelligence on his movements.
Then north. To the Bloodmoon Wastelands. Find his ritual site. Sabotage preparations if possible. Kill as many of his commanders as I can before he realizes I'm there.
I may die in the attempt. Probably will.
But I'll die fighting. Not hiding.
I'll die protecting what I almost helped destroy.
Not for forgiveness. I don't deserve that and will never ask for it.
But because it's right. Because they're worth protecting.
Tomorrow: final intelligence briefing. Last goodbye to Marcus. Preparation for exile.
The day after: banishment. The rest of my life spent making amends.
I can never undo my betrayal.
But maybe protection is its own form of redemption.
I'll die making sure their love survives Viktor's corruption.
And maybe that's enough.
I sink back onto the wooden bench. My muscles protest. My stomach growls.
But my mind is clear. My purpose is set.
Two more days.
Then I leave Ironfang forever.
And begin the only path to redemption I have left.
Fighting. Protecting. Making amends.
Until the end.

Logan POV.
Viktor comes in thirty-seven days. Thirty-seven days to prepare an entire pack for battle against a dark sorcerer who's planned this for two centuries. The war council convenes.
The war room is packed. Bodies press close in the stone chamber. Deltas. Betas. Allied Alphas. Every key strategist and fighter we have. The air is stuffy with their combined heat. Thick with tension that smells like sweat.
Maps cover the table. Weighted down at corners with daggers and stones. Territory markers show Viktor's suspected positions in red. Our defensive formations in blue. Evacuation routes in green. Attack vectors in black.
Cassandra stands at my right. Dark circles under her eyes. Garrick of Silverclaw is positioned near her. Close enough their shoulders brush when they lean over maps.
Kane's face appears in the scrying mirror. Magical projection flickers slightly. His rogue forces are ready but can't abandon their territory until the final days before battle.
Rhea sits near the window. Oracle eyes distant and unfocused. Marcus—Freya's son, fully recovered now—stands beside her. The young male spent months in Viktor's captivity.
And Rune sits at my left. Luna's position. Co-leader in every sense. Silver hair catches candlelight.
"Let's begin." The murmuring quiets immediately.
Cassandra speaks first. "Freya provided extensive intelligence over the past week before her exile begins tomorrow. Viktor's main base is in the Bloodmoon Wastelands. Secondary compound in Shadowfen marshes. Approximately two hundred rogues split between locations."
An Elder Delta—Theron, gray-haired and cautious—shifts. "Two hundred confirmed?"
"At minimum." Cassandra confirms.
Marcus steps forward. I nod permission for him to speak.
"I was held in the Shadowfen compound for three months. Viktor's forces aren't just rogues. They're enslaved werewolves. Dark magic users. Corrupted creatures bound to his will through blood magic."
Murmurs ripple through the council.
"He's been building this army for decades. They're trained. Disciplined. Fanatical. And they have no choice but to obey. Viktor's magic controls them completely—pain compliance spells, loyalty bindings, death curses for disobedience."
"Numbers?" Garrick asks. Leans forward.
"At least two hundred at Shadowfen alone. I counted formations during exercise drills." Marcus pauses. "The main base in the Wastelands is larger. Could be three, four hundred total."
Theron goes pale. "We have ninety combat-ready warriors. Maybe one hundred if we're generous with the definition of 'ready.'"
The fear in the room becomes palpable.
"Which is exactly why we're not meeting them in open battle." Cassandra interjects. Sharp. "We use strategy, not brute force. We delay, disrupt, defend."
"You're talking about guerrilla warfare against a superior force. That's not strategy. That's suicide."
"No." Rune says quietly. Every eye turns to her. "That's survival. We can't win through strength. So we win through intelligence."
She stands. Moves to the maps. Her finger traces the northern approach.
"Viktor's ritual requires the blood moon's peak. That's a four-hour window. Midnight to four AM during the eclipse."
Several council members lean forward.
"If we can delay him. Keep him from starting the ritual during that window—the eclipse passes. The window closes."
"And he has to wait another year." Cassandra finishes.
"Exactly." Rune confirms. "Our goal isn't to defeat his entire army in pitched battle. Just to prevent the ritual from completing during the eclipse window."
The council's energy shifts.
"So we focus on delay tactics." A younger Delta—Marcus's friend Caden—says. "Hit and run. Slow them down."
"Precisely." I confirm. "Cassandra, show them the defensive positions."
