Chapter 65 The Second Wedding Night

Chapter 65 The Second Wedding Night
Lara

The adrenaline was starting to wear off as we finally entered the Moonlight pack borders. I really did walk out of my marriage. As soon as we got within the borders, I saw our guards surrounding our borders. I looked behind us and thankfully there weren’t any Silver Pack soldiers following us.

Elijah stopped the horse and got down. “Ron take her home.”

Ron gave him a swift nod before mounting the horse.

“Wait!” I yelled and Elijah looked back at me. “Where are you going?”

“I’ll be back soon.” He said giving my hand a light squeeze.

“Be safe,” I whispered and he nodded.

As soon as Ron and I got to the house, we were ambushed by Ivan and Ian. If I had any doubts before, the huge grins on their faces cleared them all.

“I told you she would be back!” Ivan yelled, hugging my waist tightly.

“I knew that…” Ian mumbled.

“I missed you two.” I knelt to their height and hugged them. I really did miss them.

“You’re finally back to yeah us. I’m tired of Tristan screaming words at us.” Ian said glaring at the teenage boy who scoffed.

“That was because you refused to learn like normal kids.” The boy defended.

It made me happy that he was finally settling into the pack. Part of me thought he would run off after his pack was conquered, but thankfully he was adjusting here. Maybe that was the point of this pack. To take in the innocent misfits.

“Now, now, everyone will have their own time with Lara but she needs to rest now,” Ron announced ushering me into the house. The twins groaned but they didn’t protest further.

Ron and I entered the house and for the first time in weeks, my body relaxed. I was really back home.

“Marissa cooked up a storm when she heard you were coming back,” Ron said. That explained the amazing smell that engulfed the house. I sighed in satisfaction. “It’s.. It’s nice having you back.”

“It’s nice being back.”

“Elijah almost went nuts so that you know.” I smiled at the thought of Elijah crashing out. “I should join the others.”

I nodded, “I’m going to freshen up.”

I watched as he lingered a little and chuckled, “Come here.” I opened my arms for a hug and he quickly took the hug while laughing. “There, there, I missed you too.”

“Yeah..” he mumbled. He pulled away and ruffled my hair. “I seriously have to leave now or Elijah will have my neck.”

I waved him goodbye as he left. I decided to get out of my wedding dress and take a shower.

When I was done, the sun had set and the house was quiet. I was putting on one of Elijah’s oversized shirts and shorts. I made a beeline to the kitchen and true enough there was a lot to eat and I didn’t have to care about what anybody thought.

I filled my plate and sat on one of the stools. It was getting late and I wondered where Elijah was. There was no sign of any attack in the village so I guessed we were good. I was about to send him a message through the mindlink when I heard the front door open.

“Elijah?”

“Yes, darling.”

Butterflies swarmed my stomach at the sound of his voice. I was so sure my face was beet red now. He sat on the stool beside mine. I gave him a look over and he didn’t look injured.

“My brother was made the Alpha.” He suddenly said, My heart sank but I nodded either way. Jacob deserved the position and I was grateful the failed wedding didn't stop the coronation.

“That’s.. great.”

Elijah looked at me with a hint of nervousness in his eyes and I wondered what the problem was. Did he regret coming for me? Was I risking everyone’s safety?

“Do you regret coming with me?”

What?

My jaw was definitely hanging open when I heard the question. It was ironic. There I was wondering if he was the one regretting the whole thing.

“No!” I almost screamed and he grinned.

“You could have been Luna.” He added and I rolled my eyes.

"I don't want any of that.” I said, “I don’t think I ever wanted that life with him.”

“Good.”

A question popped into my mind and I found myself asking him. “Do you ever regret leaving?”

He paused. I could see the emotions twirling in his eyes before he finally shook his head. “I don’t.” He doesn't say anything else so I don’t ask further questions.

I ate my food in comfortable silence before I realized something.

“Who knew I would be spending yet another wedding night here?” I joked.

“At least you’re nicer now.” Elijah retorted.

“I was snatched from my wedding. Try being nice.”

“At least you chose to be here this time.” He said drawing my chair closer.

“Yeah,” I replied breathlessly. His eyes darted down to my lips and time froze at that moment. Would he..?

My question was cut short when I felt his hands under my thighs and he hiked me up. In a flash, I was straddling him.

“Elijah,” I whispered.

“Tell me to stop.” His husky voice sent a shiver down my spine. Did I want him to stop? My first wedding night I had the excuse of the mate bond but now, it was up to me.

“Don’t.”

That was all it took for him to crash his lips against mine. I moaned while wrapping my hands around his neck. His hands crawled into my shirt leaving my skin burning at his touch.

“Fuck.” He growled and hoisted me up and headed upstairs.

Our lips never left each other as we pushed through the room door. He gently placed me on the bed and removed his shirt. My eyes shamelessly trailed down his body and I couldn’t imagine doing this with someone else. He hovered over me before slowly taking off my shirt. My lips quivered in anticipation as his eyes raked over my body.

“Beautiful..” he trailed kisses down my body and I felt complete. I might be fated to be with someone else but no one else could replace the spot Elijah occupied.

The Moon goddess has to forgive me.
