CHAPTER 8

GENERAL POV

The triplets had walked in almost immediately as their father was announcing his engagement to Mrs Amelia, Alicia's mum.

“Dad, we need to talk.” Adrian spoke, his voice intense and very loud.

Alpha Richard tries to shut them off by asking them to shift whatever it was until after the engagement announcement, but when he heard Alexander talk about calling off the engagement he knew it was a rather serious matter.

They all leave and walk into the Alpha's chamber.

“What was so urgent that you had to talk about calling off the engagement.” He stared angrily.

“Dad, you need to calm down.” Arnold stated.

“I'm running out of patience.” He growled and the triplets glanced at each other before mustering courage to speak.

“Alicia is our…” Arnold was still talking when he was cut through by Adrian.

“Father the engagement is rather too sudden for us, for everyone and I'm sure Mrs Amelia would see it as a sudden occurrence too.” Adrian stated.

The two brothers stared at Adrian confused. That wasn't the reason why they had dragged Their father out of the dining hall. The plan was to expose that Alicia was their mate and call off the engagement between their parents so what exactly was Adrian doing?!

“I'm yet to understand you.” Alpha Richard says, confused on what exactly the boys had to say.”

“Father, what Adrian is trying to say is that the engagement is rather too sudden. It's only been a year since we lost our mother and what would the pack think of us and including Mrs Amelia and her daughter. I think you need to cancel the engagement, and get to bond with your fiancé better.” Alexander added.

They all stared at their father as his expression slowly turned into a grin.

“Ask my beta to call off the engagement.” He announced.

He spoke to the boys for some while and saw sense in everything they had said. He needed to bond better with Amelia and be sure she is capable of taking the position of Luna in the pack.

Alpha Richard returns back to his chambers and shortly later Amelia storms in, pushing the guards who tried to stop her away.

She is torn into a million pieces by the humiliation she had to go through because the Alpha all of a sudden decided to call off the engagement.

“Why?” she sobbed.

“Darling, I didn't want to rush you into this at all. The boys haven't healed over the loss of their mother and the thoughts of a second mother was rather overwhelming news.” He spoke softly.

“I felt humiliated and embarrassed, you could have just told me.” She continued to sob “Now everyone sees me as a slut, a gold digger.” She added.

Alpha Richard pulls her unto his arms and they lock lips in a kiss, “I'll address the matter tomorrow and everything will be fine.” He reassured her, his arms curved around her hips.

He carries her into his bedroom and they start to kiss and pull each other closer, he trails kissing down her spine and making love to her and she moans intensively grabbing onto his back tightly and they passionately make love to each other.

“Adrian! What the hck was that?” Alexander yelled.

“Is this some kind of joke to you?” Arnold added. The tension between them intensified and Adrian let out a sigh…

“I had to do that for a reason.” He scoffed.

“What reason?” The other brothers asked at the same time.

“Guys chill… it just didn't make sense telling father about Alicia.” He said, staring at his brothers.

“And what does that even mean?” Arnold asked.

“Look Alicia is our mate, yh? But dad is obviously in love with her mother. Breaking the news that way would have shattered him further. It's been a long time since I saw our father this into a woman.” He added.

“So are you saying we should let go of our mate because she happens to be our future step sister?” Alex asked, his face curved into a frown.

“I'm not saying that, I'm just saying we need more time to process all these, hopefully that should buy us more time.” He exhaled.

“I'm not sure about this, but what I do know is that Alicia isn't going to forgive us.” Arnold chips in and the other two brothers stare at him, “Since when did you start caring about her?” Adrian mocked.

“It's not funny guys. Mrs Amelia is hurt as well..” Arnold added.

There was a long moment of silence before they decided to play video games and they are midway into their video game when they heard a loud thud sound from outside threatening to break the door.

They all sigh, knowing it was none other than Alicia. She manages to break the lock off and slam the door open.

The triplets stood there, shocked and amused at how furious she was that had caused her to literally break the door. Open

“How dare you!” She yells on top of her voice.

“You ruined my life in your home, you ruined me at school and now, you want to ruin my mother's reputation and honour?” She is filled with rage and passionate hatred for them and just wants to end everything.

“Alicia, go back to your room.” Arnold commands.

“Or what?” She snapped immediately

They triplets are stunned and shocked that Alicia could dare to speak to them in just a manner.

“Didn't you hear what Arnold said?” Adrian asked, taking steps towards her.

“I am not afraid of you, or your threat. I'm not your puppet, someone you feel you can control when you want!” She sniffed.

Alicia breaks down and without thinking she tries to reject the triplets but they surround her immediately, stopping her from doing that.

“Nobody dares to sever a mate bond with us, until we say it is over, it is not yet over.” the boys say almost in unison.

“I don't want to be mates with such cruel, unfair beasts like all of you.” she spat.

“Read my lips, until we say it's over, it's not
yet over. Consider that your first day of doom for insulting and humiliating us in public.”
