Hop

Hop
Vinorca Jona POV

I just looked at him, jaw slack. “Kill?” The spinning in my head worsened on hearing his words, as if it wasn’t already bad enough with the lust I was drenched in.

“Yes, bunny. Don’t know why you’re even asking this in this situation.” He sounded so innocent, like he didn’t admit committing such a crime.

“Tell me one thing, Dante. Why do you have to go through so many things? If it’s about making my life hell, you could have done it without that fake adoption of yours.” Confused, I narrowed my eyes.

“Without having you claimed on paper, how would I have owned you? For that, I needed to forge the details. It got a bit complicated, but it’s worth having you.” He paused. “Couldn’t claim you as a mate at that time, so being your guardian was the only option.”

I exhaled a deep breath. “You want to claim me as your mate? Because I never felt it, or was it all about claiming me as your fucking revenge toy?”

Before he could reply, I crashed my lips against his, because half of me already knew the answer and the other half didn’t want to know at all.

What is he even going to tell me? That he did it all to have me, or should I say for his revenge, precisely?

Why couldn't he just tell me about being my mate rather than giving me all that trauma? I knew he did all of it out of hate and revenge, and right now I didn't have the capacity to process it. In this heat, I wanted him even if it was just painful.

“Mhmm,” he moaned into my mouth as I opened it, and he tangled his tongue with mine, lapping at it, sucking like he’d been thirsty for years.

His hand gripped my neck, making me go wet between my thighs. The way his thumb and fingers dug into the sides of my neck elevated the feeling of his soul-deep, tongue-fucking kiss.

“Your mouth is so warm and wet, Vin.” He parted our lips and removed his hand from my throat as I heaved for breath. “I’m going to take you in ways you won’t be able to erase from your head.”

I said nothing. I’d already said enough. No need to embarrass myself more than I already had.

Dante slid his hands under my ass and lifted me suddenly, shocking me. I wrapped my legs around his torso tighter. He was hard. “What are you doing?”

“Can’t fuck you on a hard table. Let’s get down to business somewhere softer.” Where was he going to take me in this office? No way could I wait until we reached home, not that I wanted anyone to see me in this condition anyway.

“I don’t mind. Don’t take me anywhere,” I mumbled, gripping his shoulders to support myself, trying to look into his eyes.

He chuckled. Fucking hell, even though it should have gotten on my nerves, in reality, I found it too sexy. Walking to a corner, he pressed something, and the wall started sliding, leaving me baffled.

A wall moving? I was either seeing an illusion due to the heat, or this was some mystery at work. Both were crazy to consider either way.

“I have a suite in my office. Your eyes are going wide for the wrong reason,” he commented, and I tried to relax my expression, his words carrying a dirty depth I understood perfectly, ruining my innocence.

One thing shocked me. Not that he had a suite, but how open he was being with me now. I’d barely had any conversation with him my whole life since our parents died.

When I was a kid, before ten, he used to play with me. But since our parents’ death, I’d never had a real conversation with him.

Today, the way he answered about how he adopted me and what he did, I didn’t think I would have gotten any answer from him in a normal situation.

That’s why I even asked in the middle of losing my mind, and got an answer I never could have imagined.

Maybe lust made him lose his senses too, the same way heat did to me.

“Vin, you here?” Dante’s words pulled me out of my trance, and I looked around in awe. His suite was painted in creamy tones with a big red bed in the middle of it. King-size. The color of his bed matched his damn eyes.

How many women had he brought here to have a king-size bed in his office? The question ran through my head, pissing me off, because for so long he’d known I was his mate and still fooled around.

Couldn’t be more sure about it even though I’d never seen a woman with him. Not like I’d seen him much either. Him being at war and handling the pack surely saved me more times than I could count. But of course he couldn’t be twenty-eight with no experience. King-size bed, living proof.

“Baby bunny, don’t dissociate.” He placed me on the floor and settled himself on the bed, looking every bit a king on his king-size bed. “I’m going to give you all good reasons to do that soon.”

When did my grip even loosen on him? That wasn’t the main question. “Why’d you place me on the floor?”

Dante’s eyes flashed, like they were telling me something I was unable to comprehend. “You still need me to spell it out for you, Vin?”

“Why so confusing?" I rolled my eyes as I tried to stand.

“Don’t get on your feet, Vin.” He licked his lips. “Get on your pretty knees and crawl for me, bunny. If you want, you can hop on your toes, like the bunny you are.”

By no means was I too far away from him. Just a few inches. Still, the audacity. He spread his legs and propped his elbow on his thigh, chin resting in his palm. "I won't.”

“Fine by me, then.”
