Ready
Eliza's POV
I felt a rush of adrenaline course through me at her words. "Yes, I'm ready," I affirmed, though a part of me was still tinged with that familiar anxiety.
Esmeralda motioned for me to sit cross-legged on the ground, the cool stones grounding me as I settled down. "This next exercise will require you to delve into your essence—to understand the core of who you are," she said softly, kneeling across from me. Her presence felt reassuring, and I took a deep breath to steady myself, focusing on her calming aura.
"As we begin," she continued, "I want you to envision a light within you. A pure, vibrant energy that represents your truest self." She paused, her eyes locking onto mine with intensity. "Can you see it?"
I closed my eyes, picturing a gentle light flickering within my chest. It felt warm and comforting, like the first rays of sunlight after a long winter. I imagined it growing brighter, pulsating in rhythm with my heart.
"Good," Esmeralda encouraged. "Now, I want you to tune into that light. Understand its nature. What does it feel like? What colours does it show you?"
I relaxed more profoundly into the visualization, and vivid hues began to swirl around in my mind—the gold of sunrise, the deep blue of the ocean, and the iridescent green of fresh leaves in spring. My emotions combined to create a tapestry of colours reflecting who I was at my core.
"I feel… alive!" I exclaimed, barely able to contain my excitement. "It's an explosion of energy, a kaleidoscope of colours!"
She nodded, her expression proud. "That is your essence, Eliza. It's your power. Remember, it's not just about controlling your energy; it's about understanding it—embracing it."
With those words, I felt the light within me grow evemore substantialer, filling me with warmth and confidence. "What comes next?" I asked, my curiosity piqued.
"Now, we'll channel that light. You will send it outward, visualizing it wrapping around you like a protective shield." Esmeralda's voice was soothing, guiding me as she showed me how to extend my energy.
I concentrated, envisioning the pulsating light expanding, slowly wrapping around my body like a shimmering cloak. I opened my eyes, and to my amazement, I could see faint glimmers reflecting in the air around me. It was as though the very atmosphere echoed with my newfound power.
"Excellent! You're doing wonderfully," Esmeralda praised, a bright smile lighting up her features. "Now, allow it to flow freely. Can you feel it? Your energy is alive!"
I nodded, overwhelmed but exhilarated. The sensation was terrifying and beautiful, the exhilarating wildness of a storm tempered by a newfound control.
"Trust it," Esmeralda said gently. "Your energy is not something to fear but to nurture and guide. Are you ready to take it a step further?"
"What do you mean?" I asked, my heart racing.
"Let's see how your energy interacts with the elements," she said, and before I could fully comprehend, she lifted her hands and summoned a gentle breeze. Leaves rustled in the trees overhead, and the air shifted around us.
As the breeze swirled, I instinctively reached to meet it with my energy. I concentrated, willing my light to dance with the wind, and suddenly, it felt like my essence connected with that breeze, weaving through its silk threads.
"I can feel it!" I gasped in awe. "It's like… I'm part of everything!"
"Yes!" Esmeralda exclaimed, her eyes twinkling with joy. "That is the unity of your energy with the world around you. Remember, your strength comes not just from within but from your connection to everything around you."
Just then, a rush of wind intensified, lifting my hair and sending ripples of calm exhilaration through my body. I gasped as the energy pulsed more powerfully around me, enlivening every part of my being. It was as if the universe itself responded to my awakening.
"Control it," Esmeralda advised, her tone calm yet firm. "Let it flow, but do not let it overwhelm you."
I took a deep breath, feeling the storm within me. With profound concentration, I shaped the energy before me, moulding it like clay in my mind. The wind ebbed and flowed, synchronizing with my breath as I learned to dance with it.
At that moment, I discovered a rhythm I had never known existed—my heart, breath, and energy harmonising with nature's essence. I felt a bond forming, a tether between my soul and the earth.
As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, casting golden rays over the courtyard, I slowly withdrew the energy back into myself, feeling exhilarated and drained all at once.
Esmeralda smiled, her face radiating pride and wisdom. "You've taken significant steps today, Eliza. But this is only the beginning. Understanding your essence will take time and practice."
I nodded, an excited smile dancing on my lips. "Thank you, Esmeralda. This was beyond anything I could have imagined."
"Tomorrow, we will build upon this foundation. Remember, the journey is just as important as the destination." With those parting words, she rose gracefully, and I followed suit, still buzzing with the whirlwind of energy I had just harnessed.
As I walked back towards the palace, the sunset painting the sky in brilliant oranges and purples, I couldn't help but glance at my mates waiting just beyond the courtyard. Their smiles ignited a warmth within me.
"Hey, how was it?" Rylan asked, his eyes alight with curiosity.
I beamed at them, my heart full. "It was incredible! I feel… empowered. Like I can finally see who I am."
They exchanged glances, pride shining in their expressions, but.n opened his mouth like he was about to say something but changed his mind.
"What about you guys? Why do you look so worried?"
