Chapter 26

Chapter 26
Rosalina's Point of View

Everyone in the locker room's eyes were on me as Kelly and I walked inside. I was confused at why they were looking at me, but decided to ignore them. I walked to my locker to get my uniform out and started to change.

"I can't believe she came to school today after what she did to Ashley," One of Ashley's friends said

"Yeah, I can't believe Alpha Kane would punish her for that human," Another female said

"You'd better be quiet. I heard she is Alpha Kane's Mate, "Someone else said. Hearing her say Mate made me think about those werewolf novels I read.

"All of you need to mind your business," Kelly said suddenly, and everyone became quiet.

"What was that about?" I asked.

"Don't worry about it, Lina. Everyone just loves to gossip," Kelly replied.

"What did they mean when they said I was Kane's Mate? Why did they call him Alpha? Did he punish Ashley somehow? I haven't seen her in school today. Is that why? Is it because he punished her?" I asked

"Lina, I can't answer those questions."

"Why?" I asked. I was frustrated. I felt no, I knew everyone was hiding something from me. I had a feeling I knew what that something was, but there was no way I could be right. It would be impossible for me to be right.

"Because that is something Kane has to tell you," Kelly said, and I sighed.

"Fine," I said

"Are you mad?" Kelly asked

"No. Well, not at you. Let's just get this day over with," I said. All through PE, I couldn't stop thinking about Kane. I kept thinking about all the strange things that had happened since I moved to Crimsom with my mom. The rest of the day went the same. I barely paid attention to the teachers as they spoke because my mind was on Kane. I was so annoyed because not only was I thinking about what everyone had said in PE, and the way everyone was whispering every time I passed them or came into a room. I was also sad because I missed Kane. It was weird because it didn't matter how much time I was away from him. It could be five hours or one hour. Whenever we were away from each other, I felt a pain in my chest. It was like something was missing.

That was something else that had me wondering. My feelings for Kane were not normal. I hadn't known him for long but I really cared about him. I couldn't imagine my life without him. I trusted him even though I knew he messed around with a lot of girls. I knew he cheated on Ashley and was basically a playboy but for some reason, deep down, I knew he would never do what he did to Ashley to me. I knew it sounded crazy, like I had lost my mind but I was positive he would never hurt me.

When school was over, we headed outside, and there was a limo waiting for us in front of the school. The driver opened the door for Kelly and me, and we got in. Kelly and I went to the dining hall and got a snack before we headed up to her room to get our homework done.

"Lina, Lina."

"Huh," I said.

"Are you okay? You seem to be deep in thought. You've barely gotten any work done," Kelly said

"Honestly, I can't stop thinking about everything that's been happening. I feel like you all are hiding something from me. I am sure of it. I wish you would tell me what that is," I said

"Lina, I already told you it isn't for me to tell. Kane has to be the one to tell you," Kelly said

"It doesn't seem like he plans on telling me anything," I replied.

"He will, trust me. Maybe you should talk to him. Let him know that you know he is keeping something from you," Kelly said

"It doesn't matter if I tell him that or not. He still won't tell me what's going on," I said

"I am sure he will," Kelly said

"Yeah, right," I replied

"Hey, you won't know unless you talk to him. Just be straight with him and I am sure he will tell you everything," Kelly said. I thought about what she said and I knew she was right. I had to talk to Kane. That was the only way I would find out what the hell was going on. Honestly, I was sure I already knew what was going on. No matter how impossible it was for me to be right. I was sure I was.

"Okay, I will talk to him," I said

"Good, now let's get this homework done so we can do something fun," Kelly said

"Like what?" I asked

"There is a party tonight and I think we should go," Kelly said

"I don't know. I am not one to go to parties. I have never been to one before," I said

"What? Really?" Kelly asked

"Really," I replied

"But why?"

"I've never been the party type," I replied.

"I can't believe this. You are seventeen years old and you have never been to a party. Oh, we are definitely going."

"Kelly."

"I know what you are going to say. You don't think it's a good idea to go, but it is. Come on, Lina, please come with me to this party. If you don''t go then I won't go either. I will be missing out on the party of the year," Kelly said

"I can't believe you are trying to guilt trip me," I said

"Is it working?" Kelly asked

"Fine, I will go with you to the party," I said and Kelly screeched happily

"Great! I promise you are going to have so much fun. Come on. We have to get ready and I have the perfect dress for you to wear," Kelly said

"Okay," I replied.

Maybe it would be a good idea for me to go to this party. It would take my mind off of everything else.
