Chapter 14 14
Lucien's pov
I chuckle to the sound of her gasping for air as I pull the shirt over my body, doing the buttons.
"I find it hard to believe you find this funny." She's outraged and I turn in time to meet her a feet hovering over me, on the bed, and fuming.
"Relax. You should be thankful we were interrupted."
She's bewirlded, I love the fact that her eyes show her true expressions before her face. "Or what? You'd have choked me to death."
"You were fine, you knew that. And there was space for more- next time, we'd try something without leaving restraints," she gasps as I grab the back of her head, pulling her down to lick my mark across her neck and down her throat. "My cock next time?"
"Ugh!" She pushes me from resentment but instead her body is propelled backwards and she falls back against the bed, bouncing over the top. "You're disgusting!"
I chuckle at the heat that blooms in her cheeks, the way she turns red, flustered, angry, yet embarrassed.
"I'll be done with the Elders in a minute and come up to you. Having left my room to the company of the pack's rats and who knows what they lose, you've left me no choice but to reside here temporarily until things are taken care of there "
"What?" She tried to stand, but she keeps falling back. She gets even more embarrassed and it dawns on me how adorably amusing I find her when she's angry. It's like a breath of fresh air. Something challenging and entertaining to look forward to.
I reach forward, clamoring over the edge of the bed to help her up but she slaps my hand away. Smirking with slight indignation, I watch her almost find her footing, but I tilt her back and she falls again.
She growls, claws spiking from her hands as she swips hen at me, but I narrowly miss having my fingers off by a hair's breath.
"You can't stay here- t- this place is huge, there are other rooms you can stay in "
"In between my finger in your throat or your legs wrapped around me- did you seem to forget what your punishment was "
Her eyes are like blue molten flames raging as they burned into mine. "Moving in here? That's torture. I'd rather get whipped."
I smirk ruefully. "Is that another kink of yours we need exploring?"
"Lucien!"
"You're under room arrest til I return. You will not leave this room and lunch will be brought up here till I arrive."
"I am not a prisoner!"
"No. But you crossed a line today. Maybe you'd reflect on what you did."
"Maybe I wouldn't have had to if you'd listened to me..." I ignore her, turning away to leave.
"And I thought you've already met with the Council last night. What do they want again? Have you been lying about your whereabouts Lucien? A mistress perhaps." The tone of her voice is livid and filled with distasteful mockery. I turn to see expectancy in her eyes, like she already dreads the answer I'd give her.
"My last mistress- I had her tongue cut out and served it to her on a platter for dinner before I ripped her head out. Do you know why?"
She folds her arms with a sneer, implying she was not fazed, but as usual her eyes betrayed her, and so did the bob going down her throat as she swallowed.
Her nervousness was palpable through the bond. I wonder if she forget I could feel what she felt through her scent- we were one. She couldn't exactly hide anything from me.
"You won't hurt me. She may have been your mistress, but I'm your mate."
I open the door, hesitating before turning to her. "Then you'll do as I say."
With that, I shut the door behind me.
My expression darkens as I move towards the meeting hallroom. The Elders are all seated around the table with grave expression engraved into their sunken features.
Upon seeing me walk in, I could feel them tense and shift uncomfortably in their seats.
The Seven Elders of the Paranormal Dark world. Known as the seconds gods after the Moon Goddess, closer to her than any of us would ever be. They had lived long before even I came to be. They had witnessed what no eyes have, heard what could only be vile And treacherous and made decisions concerning numerous lives over the years.
"Is there a reason why this couldn't wait?" I take my seat, both legs crossed on the table as I lean back.
Their indignant gazes darken over the legs crossed before them just as one stand, Alicia, the only female Elder in existence- a rare breed who's been sought after by the shifters for the most part of her life. She was the youngest, barely a century year old. I had witnessed her take an oath before the joined the Council. Her origin was strange and unknown, even to I, but she was deemed fit to earn her place with the .
She stood, not meeting my eyes as she announced.
"You've been asked to withdraw from the Head Alpha's table."
Silence.
"Am I supposed to know why?"
One stands slamming both hands on the table before me, resentment clouding his eyes as they bare down hatefully at me. "You of all people should. We warned you long before this happened. And you haven't listened to us."
The Head Alphas were seven resectable leaders sought after by the Council and given their spot based on assessment over the years. We were four, each picked from their residing packs, but apparently it seems they had a problem with me.
It could explain why they had shunned me out the past few days from their meetings and arraignment concerning the war against the shifters coming up.
It hadn't bothered me, we didn't exactly get along, but this news was certainly shocking.
"If this has to do with Godric's daughter, I made It clear she was my mate. I claimed what was mine. Why do I get fingers pointed at it because of it." I smirk challengingly smirk at him, basking in the relishing satisfaction at his anger
Williams was the youngest Male. Centuries older than I was, but he had a temper to go with his rounded shoulders and short frame.
Maxwell stood. The oldest of them all and the Head of the Council, his beard shook with impending tremor as every slight movement, the tip grazing the surface of the table as he rose.
"Williams..." He called, an underlying warning tone in his voice to which Williams adhered to begrudgingly, glaring at my smug expression.
Maxwell turned to me, and I settled my feet back on the ground, lesning forward.
"You of all people should understand. Trust me I had no intentions of claiming ownership over my nephew's bride, but they were making a mistake. I hear the whispers. I know the stories travelling around the pack. Everyone calls it an abomination. That I went out of line."
"The night you stole her- barely hours after you send her father a package, you don't think you went out of line still" Alicia snaps, clearly disgusted but I pay her no heed and I seems to infuriates her.
Maxwell raises a hand and she reluctantly sits down.
He slowly drops his hand, his gaze coming to settle on me. Inhaling, he exhales, exasperated. "Lena Thornwell... is Polyandrous by nature."
For the first time since I walked in, I'm taken back. My expression betrays my composure, and I find myself leaning forward over the desk
"That can't be true. I've never shared a mate!"
William snorts. Maxwell sighs.
Indignation fills me, just as much as rage and irritation. And suddet it dawned on me. Maxwell has always been a man of few words, most of the time barely said any words and he had always managed to convey his message across.
"You don't expect to believe that the moon goddess will bestow me a mate she's already fated to my nephews! I refuse to believe this!"
"Whether you do or not Lucien, the fact still stands. And she's the last Polyandrous she-wolf left in existence."
"Infact we had thought they'd all gone exist. When we put two and two together we discovered the only reliable answer." Another Elder added to which everyone in the room nodded to
I push my chair aside with the intention of walking out but it flies across the room, stopping when it slams into the wall anfblsaves a crack drawing across the wall.
"I will not be made a joke off and have to share her. I already claimed her."
"What you don't seem to understand, Lucien, is that the Twins, knowing she's a Polyandrous will do everything within their power to have her. You already know the fate of that woman, the importance she holds over every single one of us. You're not ignorant to it."
One stands. "Ever since you've been with her, have you not noticed a dramatic surge in your powers, your strengths, the urge to get close to her even when you fight it .." I ignore him, but I hate to admit he's right. "You can't deprive her mates of her. If they are kept away too long from Lena Thornwell, they will grow weaker by the day passing."
Maxwell beckons to everyone to seat, noticing the riled up tension in the room. He turns to me, and I see the pity in his cold blank eyes.
"For now they've only asked you withdraw from the Head Of Alphas. We have no hand in the following measures they'll take next. Remember that the war is incoming, the shifters have been laying low and we don't know when they plan to attack. Your Nephews are the General commanders of the entire werewolf army. You shouldn't be responsible for depriving us from them- "
"Or what, Maxwell" I snap and it warms me ghastly expressions from everyone in the room. Silence ensued. "What will happen if I don't give a fuck?"
