Chapter 101: Trying To Remain Calm
Alpha King Caspian's POV:

There was so much running through my head at that moment that I had to force myself to remain calm, as I knew Cash was just about there at the surface. That was the last thing I needed: for Cash to burst in here, as when he really got going, he could tear down several full-grown trees at will, when he saw to it.

"I understand that a lot of this information is bringing up past memories," Beta Maxwell said as his hand was still hovering over the ready to hit play. "However, despite all that, you need to hear the rest of what this one particular former Alpha has to say. It is really important that you hear everything here and now."

I couldn't help it as I furrowed my brows once more and forced myself to sit back down in my chair. Now my elbows were placed on the front edge of my desk, my fingers interlocked, much like Beta Maxwell's had been previously. That is, whenever he first set forward in his seat and interlocked his fingers in such a manner that I could see the whites of his knuckles.

It was in that moment that I too had to close my eyes and try to compose myself. I even took in several deep breaths before I slowly exhaled, and then after another moment, I finally opened my eyes. I happened to notice that Beta Maxwell was still standing there in front of me. His posture seemed to be a bit more relaxed than it was before, and that seemed to help. Even his composure was more confident.

"Very well," I told him as I relaxed my hands, forcing myself to remain calm.

"Your Highness, I know a lot of this information is new. However, I urge both you and Cash to hear out what the former Alpha Hemming has to say," Beta Maxwell said in that moment.

Right then, I found myself speaking to Cash, trying to encourage him so he would stay calm as well.

'No matter what, we need to figure out exactly what this particular individual knows.' (I said, looking to Cash directly.)

'What does he know? Must find out. What does he know?' (Cash was starting to demand within the confines of my mind.)

'We need to trust Beta Maxwell. He wouldn't have brought this information to us if it weren't pertinent.' (I continued to speak with Cash for a moment as Beta Maxwell had yet to play the video again, as he knew I was waiting for a moment, trying to encourage Cash.)

'Humph.' (Cash said as he tried to settle himself into the back part of my mind and not push on the barrier so hard to be released.)

"Go ahead," I said as I looked up at Beta Maxwell at that moment. "Let me see what else this man has to say so that I can make my final determination. As the way it's going..."

"Please Your Highness," Beta Maxwell cut into my thoughts as he also cut in on my statement. "I would urge you not to jump to conclusions at this precise moment. He will tell you everything. That is why, despite the fact that you found our future Luna and that of your mate, I brought this information to you directly."

I furrowed my brows as I relaxed my facial expression, raising my chin up to the opposite side this time. I pressed my lips together in a fine line as I looked over at Beta Maxwell and gave him several very slow movements, but I was nodding in his direction.

"Let us proceed," I said as I loosened the grip on my hands in front of me.

The last thing I needed was to lose all control here. I needed to remain calm. I took another deep breath and blew out the air at a downward angle just as Beta Maxwell lightly pressed the space bar once more.

Just then, the video started to play again, and that's when I heard Hemming continue in his statement when he said, "My name is actually Hemming Blue. I am the son of the one who created the blue moon pack I took over after him."

I could feel my anger once again trying to rise to the surface, but this time I tried to remain in control. I knew Cash would want to know the outcome of this particular video, as I'm sure it wasn't a long one, but still. I needed to find out exactly what this... one captive knew.

"You mean to tell me that your father's the one who created the blue moon pack as in the actual 'Horatio Blue'?" Beta Maxwell asked Hemming in that precise moment.

I nodded in agreement, pressing my lips together at a fine line once more, as I was pleased with Beta Maxwell's select questions during the video.

"Yes, that's the truth as to who I am," I heard Hemming say in that precise moment.

"We shall certainly see," I said, cutting in a quick statement, as there was a slight pause in the video.

"That was Lawrence, Your Highness," Beta Maxwell cut in quickly, just as I reached over and tapped the space bar, once again pausing the video for a brief moment.

"What was?" I asked as I wasn't exactly sure what he was referring to.

"The pause. The pause in the video for the brief moment. Lawrence had looked over at me and nodded that the information that the former Alpha hemming had provided was indeed the truth."

"Ahhh," I said at that moment. "I see."

No sooner had I tapped the space bar once more than Beta Maxwell continued, and I was pleased with what he had to say next.

"Well then. Tell us about that fateful day in question, the one when you were captured."

It was at that particular moment that I knew what Beta Maxwell had been trying to convey to me earlier. It was now getting down to the information I was needing to hear. The information about how this particular individual could have possibly become a captive in the first place.

"It started when I was summoned to Castle Gallant by His Royal Highness for a Private Council," I heard Hemming say in that moment as I looked back at the screen, studying his posture. "Once I arrived, I was told about the threats that had been stirring about. I was informed that they all started as rumors against the Royal Highness and His family, and that His Royal Highness was concerned for their safety. The decision was then made to have a few select individuals be a part of a special group, myself included, to go on a trip to find out if the threats were viable or not."

Right at that precise moment, I reached over and touched the space bar, pausing the video as I looked back to Beta Maxwell. Can you verify whether some of this information is correct?

"I will definitely get on that, Your Highness," Beta Maxwell said as he spoke right at that moment, looking up at me.
