Rose was shocked when she saw her body lying with the IV needle in her wrist. She stared at the drops of liquid flowing from the hose into her body. Her gaze scanned the unfamiliar room. She faintly tried to remember what had happened before. When she turned to the side she was even more surprised to see Robert sitting back on the sofa in a state of sleep. The man looks handsome when he sleeps innocently. However, Rose's heart was not moved in the slightest to look at him. Rose rose from her lying position, she sat on the edge of the bed, looking for footwear. Rose walked over with her IV support. The girl stood in front of Robert for a moment. There was an urge to stir the sleepy man and question what he had done to save Kenzie, but she ignored that desire and chose to open the bedroom door. "This, isn't it a hospital?" Rose was surprised to see the spacious room in front of the bedroom door when she opened the door. The girl walked around the spacious living room. It was the first time in her life that she saw a luxury she had only glimpsed in a magazine. She admired the whole room filled with objects of the highest quality. Unaffordable luxury items. She gaze then fixed on the photo on the wall. "This is Jasmine's house… ah yes, I was here last night to see Robert. Did he save Kenzie?" murmured Rose. She shuffled back into the room to meet Robert. Although the luxurious house had many things that she could see and admire, it turned out that not a bit of luxury was able to attract her. She ignored all that, because there were more important things to him. Rose was about to go back into the room to talk to Robert when her sharp ears caught the laughter of a small child. The girl stopped in her tracks, stunned to make sure she heard right. The tiny voice sounded again, making the woman turn around and look for the source of the sound. She walked around the room, looking at each closed door to determine where the sound was coming from. "Kenzie? Is that really your voice, kid, or is it just my imagination?" Rose was on the verge of giving up hope, but the girl kept going, dragging her IV support, walking towards another room. A glimmer of wonder welled up in her mind, when she couldn't find a maid. Until …. "Kenzie?" Rose stared at the page that was so beautiful. Her hand held the glass barrier and she stayed there. In the back garden, she saw a small boy sitting with many servants surrounding him. Various types of breakfast seemed to be served especially for him. Rose's eyes filled with tears, a smile of happiness tugged at her lips. She was silent and did not move. The sight she was looking at right now was one of the beauties that Kenzie desperately wanted to give. Comfort and happiness unfortunately she can not give. The boy's calm and happy expression reassured Rose that Kenzie was in the right place. Especially seeing the respectful faces of the servants who accompanied and told him. Rose's heart became relieved, though… there was a speck of pain that pierced her heart. "Goodbye, my Dear… Aunt Rose hopes that you won't feel the pain and suffering anymore. I love you so much," whispered Rose with trembling lips and tears streaming down her face. Rose wiped the tears that fell down. For a moment she tried to capture the beautiful scenery so that it stuck firmly in her mind. The girl then turned around with tears welling up in her eyes. She was barely able to walk away. Rose smacked her chest which was aching. "Oh, God, strengthen me. This is the best for Kenzie, I'm sorry Ruby," She regretted who felt she couldn't keep the best legacy from his sister. Rose stepped in without realizing that she was dragging the IV support. Her mind was lost in an atmosphere of sadness that he couldn't control. Rose leaned against the wall of the room and struggled to stop the tears that continued to flow. "Rose…" Rose turned to the source of the baritone voice moaning her name softly. Her misty eyes met with piercing blue eyes. There was no hatred, anger or humiliation she could find from the cold look on the man's face, that often became her nightmare. "Thank you, you've kept your word, doctor Robert," Rose said hoarsely and with a genuine smile. The girl then turned off the IV line and removed the IV needle from her wrist. She endured the pain and held back the drops of blood that had seeped out due to the rough movement of pulling the IV needle. "Stupid!" Robert growled at Rose's actions. Rose was about to ignore and leave, but without her being able to stop him, Robert was already pulling her body. The man's strong hands grabbed her small arm and forced her to sit. The look in his sharp eyes seemed so terrifying to Rose. "Sit down here, Woman!" Rose froze at the man's stern and furious voice. He saw Robert hurry to a small cupboard in the corner of the room and grab something. The man came back with the plaster, removed the hand that was holding the small wound from the IV and covered it with the plaster. "Is this how you take care of yourself?" Robert's question sounded like sarcasm to Rose's ears. "I'm tired, Robert. I don't want to fight with you," said Rose weakly. "Thank you for freeing Kenzie from that place. I hope … you keep your promise to look after and care for the child. I hope … you love him because Kenzie deserves it." All the words that slipped from Rose's lips actually really hurt the woman's heart. Rose was determined to leave Kenzie in Robert's care. She had to let go of her ego for the sake of her beloved nephew's happiness and future. "You don't need to remind me about it." Rose breathed a sigh of relief, because she was sure that behind his arrogance and stubbornness, she was sure that Robert wasn't a bad person who would abandon his son. She tried to convince himself that Robert would protect Kenzie, not just to protect his good name, but because it was a father's job. "Get out of the way, I'm going." Rose pushed Robert's shoulder who was still sitting crouched in front of her. Rose frowned when she saw the man didn't want to move either. "Robert!" She shouted. "Why don't you go see Kenzie?" Robert's question took Rose by surprise. "No, I think it's for the best." Rose chose to deny her feelings of longing. She was afraid her heart would betray, so he was no longer willing to leave Kenzie with Robert. "Please get out of the way," she said slowly. Robert obeyed Rose's words. The man stood up from his crouched position and let Rose through. "I'll take you." "No--" Rose held back her words when she saw the man's fierce gaze. There was only silence all the way to Rose's house. The two of them are in their own minds. Arriving in front of her shabby apartment, Rose nodded in thanks without making a sound.
