Rose stood in front of the iron fence that towered over her. The iron line that tightly closed the magnificent house inside, seemed to smile disdainfully at him. The girl ignored the scorching sun that burned her beautiful hair and smooth skin. She searched for the bell and managed to find an intercom to communicate with. Rose pressed the button and waited for an answer. "Who are you?" asked a male voice over the intercom. "Me, Rose, can I see Mr. Robert Miller?" "Do you have an appointment?" The same question was repeated again making Rose wonder how busy Robert is that everyone has to make an appointment when they meet him. While the man had come to bother her several times. "Not." "Sorry, the young master isn't home." "Wait! It's important, please let me meet Robert." Rose tried to urge whoever spoke to her from behind the gate to immediately meet the man she had been looking for all day. "Sorry, Miss, the young master is not at home. You'd better call Mr. Robert directly." "Please … please call him and tell Rose to look for him, please …." Rose's pitiful words didn't touch the person either. "You'd better call the young master yourself, Miss. I dare not. Good evening, Miss." "Wait! Don't go!" Rose became confused when the person said goodbye. "Please call Robert and tell him it's about Kenzie. I beg you." There was no answer, which made the girl even more confused. She pressed the intercom repeatedly, calling out to whoever was in there. Rose didn't stay still either, she banged on the gate causing a commotion. An unpretentious woman who is always strong and full of manners, no longer thinks about manners and rules of conduct. She was like a demonstrator calling for the voice of conscience, screaming without shame. Sweat dripped down his body. The damp air made Rose's sweat flow profusely. The girl's head felt dizzy feeling the heat of the sun. "Robert, come out," Rose's raspy voice indicated how much she had screamed. The girl walked to the edge of the gate. She tried to take cover in the shadow of the pine tree. Even though it was getting late, the humid heat didn't pass either. The girl was still sitting on the side of the road. She wished she could meet Robert today too, whether the man left or returned to the main house. Rose convinced herself that one of the residents of the house would contact Robert. Slowly the moist air was replaced with the smell of earth. The hot air suddenly replaced with a strong gust of wind, blowing Rose's hair into a mess. "Rain… no, I'm not going. I'm going to stick around for Kenzie." Rose looked down at the street. "Kenzie, hang on dear, Aunt will get you out of there." Rose went back to the gate that didn't open after hours of closing. The woman hit the intercom again and kept begging them to put her in touch with Robert. "I beg you … let Robert see me or anyone from the doctor Robert's family." Rose banged on the gate. "Miss, go home, it's going to rain. We can't open the gate if there's no promise or order." "I can't go home, because it concerns someone's survival." Rose held back the tears that were about to fall, her voice choked. "Please, tell Robert this is about Kenzie. Please help me, please." The tears that she had been holding back for a long time finally flowed together with the sound of thunder and rain pouring down heavily. Rose roared, shouting loudly, spilling out the irritation and annoyance in her heart. She continued to hold the iron railing and leaned her forehead to hold her body that felt weak, because of hunger and the burden She was carrying. Rose almost never rested since the shop where the fire was sheltered. The woman shivered with cold, but refused to leave the front gate. Nor did she try to take cover under a cypress tree, though it would still be futile, soaking wet. "Kenzie, hang on…" Rose sighed pitifully. The woman lifted her head, when she felt a very bright light shining on her body. The dazzling glow made the girl's eyes narrow as she stared at the light coming from the headlights of a luxury car. A moment of silence fell upon her, when she saw a figure coming out of the car. The man she had been waiting for, finally appeared in the mist of the heavy rain. The man walked towards her like a prince of death. "What are you doing here, Woman!" The man's loud voice overpowered the pouring rain. "Was your childhood not happy, so you have to play in the rain in your old age!" The loud shout of the man who was also standing in front of Rose under the pouring rain, made the woman breathe a sigh of relief. Her waiting all day was not in vain. "Robert!" Rose hit the man's chest hard and full of anger. She didn't care about the pain in her hand as it hit the hard, muscular body. "You're going too far! You really are a man with no conscience!" Rose continued to babble furiously. "Hey! What's wrong with you?" Robert gripped both of Rose's hands which began to hit him weakly. "What's the matter with me? What have you done to Kenzie? How do you have the heart!" Rose shouted in annoyance, staring at Robert with a glint of anger. "Speak plainly, Woman!" Robert growled. "Did you need to go that far? Deliberately sending social services to take Kenzie and immigration authorities to threaten to deport my daddy!" cried Rose fiercely. "You mean?" "No need to be so chaste, Doctor Robert!" Rose's tears, which were washed by torrential rain, did not make the puffiness in her eyes disappear. "I admit defeat, save Kenzie and protect him." The girl's fierce gaze began to fade, revealing a void. The face that used to look so tough and invincible, now looked very weak, like porcelain that was about to crack. Rose's eyes flashed a vulnerability that she had never shown before to anyone. The girl looks so tired and frail, able to make anyone who sees her touched and wants to be her support. "Don't hurt him Robert, take Kenzie with you. I'm willing, as long as you promise to take care of him and give him the position he deserves as your son," said Rose sobbing. "I don't want to go to war with you anymore, don't hurt my daddy, he won't survive if you bring him back to Mexico. I beg you." Rose looked at Robert with a sad expression on her face and eyes. Her face was looking up at the man pleadingly. Her eyes blinked in the pouring rain. "Alright, I'll take your word for it!" Robert then dragged Rose and pushed her into his car. As if knowing who was coming, the gate opened on its own, letting the car through. Meanwhile inside the house, Mrs. Michael, Robert's mother, saw the incident through CCTV. She then turned to his butler and gave an order. "Investigate and protect the girl!" The command was answered with a respectful nod. 'I wonder who is the woman who can make my proud child willing to be drenched in rain,' she mumbled to herself.
