Chapter 19 Chapter 7.1
It was night, but I still couldn't sleep. I decided to go out of the room first. When I went down to the living room, it was already quite dark; only one light was on. I sat down on the sofa first. I closed my eyes, hoping I could sleep.
Did I eat too much earlier for me not to be able to sleep now? I felt my stomach; I wasn't feeling nauseous, so it seemed like my baby liked what I ate. I just smiled and then caressed my stomach. I've been pregnant for two months, but until now, I still don't have a baby bump. I just look like I'm full.
I leaned my nape on the back of the sofa.
"Are you really not coming home? Visit me here, even for just one day." I looked at Desmond, who was talking to someone on his cellphone. He's still awake? I thought I was the only one here in the living room when I came down earlier. It's annoying; why did he come here? He doesn't have anyone in the room.
"Just one day, Macie, I just want to see you. If you can't come home here, I'll just go to you." He's such a sweet boyfriend. Desmond is probably kind; he just really doesn't want to be married to me. I can't help but feel sorry for him. Why doesn't his girlfriend want to marry him yet? What else is she looking for in Desmond?
"You don't want me to go there; how will I see you?" I felt his intense longing for his girlfriend. Why doesn't Macie want Desmond to visit her? Is she going to deny him even just one day to be with her? I just shook my head. What do I care about the two of them?
When I didn't hear Desmond anymore, I stood up to go back to my room.
"AAAHHH! WHAT THE FUCK! GHOOOOST!" I looked at Desmond with a frown; he was still behind me. He was looking at me in shock. I pointed at myself. Does he think I'm a ghost? Should I hit him?
"Are you stupid?! This is Heaven; what ghost?" I answered him. He squinted at me and then turned on the lights.
"What are you doing there? Have you been there for a while?"
"Yes," I answered. Desmond just messed up his hair. "Did you hear what I said?"
"I don't care about what you're talking about. Why did you even come down from your room? You can talk to her there. No one will hear you."
"Why you? What are you doing here? It's night; why are you still here?" he asked back.
"Just trying to make myself sleepy. Lessen your coffee intake. You're too young to be easily startled. You mistook this beauty of mine for a ghost?" I said to him sarcastically. He laughed slightly as if he was insulting me.
"Aren't you?" he answered. Should I punch him so he can sleep and wake up to the reality that his girlfriend doesn't love him, char. That's just a joke. His girlfriend is probably just too busy, so she doesn't have time for him.
I was about to go up to my room when he spoke.
"Next time, don't come down at this hour." I looked at him again.
"You probably don't own the whole house to forbid me from coming down at the time I want."
"This is my house." He answered with emphasis.
"This is my house too, Mr. Velasquez. You might be forgetting that this house is under both our names. I'll go out whenever I want. Too bad for you." I teased him and then smiled at him. He rolled his eyes at me. I went into my room. Desmond is actually kind when you get to know him. He loves intensely; imagine that, he was able to wait for his girlfriend for a long time.
If we ever separate, I won't allow him to take my child from me. I'll take care of our future child. He can visit our child with me, but I won't give it to him.

I was busy with what I was doing when Jake, Desmond's secretary, called me. I followed him until we got out of our department.
"What do you need?" I asked him.
"Sir Desmond wants you to make him coffee."
"Why me again? He can order a lot of people there, why did he choose me?" I complained. I have a lot to do, and he'll just order me to make him coffee.
"He wants you to do it. He had his former coffee maker make him coffee, but he doesn't like the taste anymore. Just follow if you don't want to get scolded." I just rolled my eyes.
I went to the pantry to make his coffee. Did he like the coffee I made for him before? When I finished making coffee, I delivered it to his office.
"Here's your coffee. Next time, order someone else. I also have a lot to do, so you can't order me whenever you want." I said to him and then put his coffee on the table. He took it and was about to drink it when he looked at me.
"You didn't spit on this, right?" I just rolled my eyes at him.
"What do you think of me to do that?"
"You didn't put poison in it?" he asked again.
"If I was planning to kill you, I would have done it at home. Why don't you order your staff to check the CCTVs so you can be at peace?" I answered him grumpily and then turned my back on him. He'll doubt the coffee I made, why did he order me if that's the case?
"Heaven?" I looked at the one who called me. I approached Mommy Shiermy.
"If you don't have anything to do tomorrow, let's go shopping for baby's things with your grandma Mariam."
"Isn't it too early to buy things? My stomach isn't big yet." I answered. Why are they too excited?
"It's good that we're shopping early. Do you want to have a hard time walking before we shop for baby's things?" I just agreed to what they wanted because I couldn't do anything but follow them.
