In the past few days, Desmond has become distant from me. That's good because he might do something to me again. I focused on taking care of myself so that my future child would be healthy.
My life at Velasquez's company was also quiet. No one knows that I'm pregnant, so whenever I feel dizzy and nauseous, I immediately go to the restroom and spend time there.
"Miss Rosales," Ma'am Ruth called me, so I quickly stood up. "You know Sir Zachary from Zapanta Group, right?" she asked me, to which I nodded.
"Why, Ma'am?" I asked her. She approached me and then gave me the papers she was holding.
"Deliver those papers to him now. He needs them ASAP." I nodded. I just booked a Grab to get to Zapanta Group. When I left the company, the car I booked arrived.
After a few minutes, I arrived at the former company where I used to work. I wanted to see my co-workers again, but Ma'am Ruth might be mad if I stayed longer.
"Heaven!" someone called my name. I turned to look, and when I saw Sam, I smiled. She was also happy to approach me. "Why are you here? Why did you suddenly disappear? Did you really resign?" she asked me one after another.
"Yes, how are you?"
"I'm okay. What are you doing here if you've already resigned?" How do I explain to her that I'm working at Velasquez Group now? They don't know that I applied there because I didn't apply.
"I'm just delivering some documents to Sir Zachary." She looked at what I was holding.
"You resigned here to apply for a job somewhere else? Where are you working now?" she asked curiously.
"At Velasquez Group. I'm sorry, Sam, but I need to deliver these documents. I also need to go back to the company immediately. I also wanted to chat with you, but I also need to leave." She nodded.
"I wish you had at least told me that you were planning to apply at Velasquez Group. I'm really impressed with you. You're so good because you got into my dream company." I just smiled at her and then said goodbye.
I went straight to Sir Zach's office.
"Come in," he said when I knocked. I went in to give the documents. "Heaven, what are you doing here?" he asked and then stood up. He sat me down on the sofa, and so did he.
"I'm just delivering these documents, Sir." I gave him what I was holding. He looked at them one by one, and when he made sure they were complete, he nodded.
"Thank you for bringing me these. Do you want coffee, water, juice?" I shook my head.
"I'm also leaving immediately because I need to go back to my work. If you don't need anything else, I'll leave." I said goodbye and then stood up.
"What did you ride? Do you have a car?"
"I'll book a Grab, Sir," I answered.
"I'll take you because I'm also going there." I frowned. He's also going to Velasquez Group? Why did he have me deliver the documents he needed?
"Is there anything missing from what you sent me, Sir?" I asked.
"Nothing, I'll just take you. I'm not doing anything, so don't worry." He went out ahead of me. I followed him. I was shy to ride with him. He's my former boss!
I wanted to refuse, but how should I talk to him? There's probably nothing wrong if I ride with him. He offered, not me.
He opened the door for me. I got in while looking down because it was embarrassing. I'm just an employee, and I feel like I don't deserve to be served.
"I wish you had told me, Sir, that you were also going to Velasquez Group to personally get the documents you needed." I said because the time I spent delivering the documents to him was wasted.
"I forgot to tell you. How are you and your future baby?" He changed the topic.
"I'm okay, Sir," I answered briefly. We're not close to each other to talk about our personal lives. Are he and Desmond really friends? Why didn't I see him at our wedding?
"Did your boyfriend take responsibility for you?" I looked at him with a frown. Is the CEO of Zapanta Group really this talkative? Before I left their company, he had just arrived in the country, so I didn't know him.
"Sir, I hope you're not offended by what I'm going to say. I'm sorry, but I can't answer your question. We're not close for me to tell you about my life." I said frankly to him. He laughed slightly at what I said.
"I'm sorry about that." He apologized. We were just talking about my work at their company and other things. When we arrived at Velasquez Group, he opened the door for me. I smiled sweetly at him and thanked him.
We were about to enter the lobby when we saw Desmond. He was seriously looking at me, especially at Sir Zach.
"Hey Desmond!" Sir Zach called him.
"Sir Zach, thank you for taking me here. I'll go back to my working station; if you need anything else, just call Ma'am Ruth." I bowed slightly to give him respect. I was about to leave when Desmond suddenly approached us.
"Why are you two together?" he asked seriously.
"I just took her here." Sir Zach answered. Desmond raised his eyebrow at what Sir Zach said.
"Do you two have a relationship?" I just rolled my eyes. Here he goes again with his suspicions.
"What do you care if I have a relationship? Are you going to ask every man you see me with what our relationship is?" I said to him annoyedly. I noticed that Sir Zach was surprised at how I talked to Desmond. I'm running out of patience with him. He's blaming me for what's happening to him and his girlfriend. Why doesn't he blame himself?!
"Heaven," Sir Zach called me.
"You might be forgetting that you're married. You have no right to have a relationship with anyone. You're even flirting with Zach?" I clenched my fist. I wanted to slap him, but many people would see what I would do. I just forced myself to smile.
"I can't have a relationship with others, but you can? Is that it? You don't own me, Mr. Velasquez. I'm just your wife on paper." After I said that, I left. I knew that Sir Zach was very surprised at what he found out. It's annoying; there's not a day that we don't fight.
