Chapter 11 Chapter 4.2
"Dad," I couldn't say anything else. He was smiling at me, with no trace of anger and disappointment because his princess wasn't careful. "It's good that you were able to come here. Are mom and Anica also there?" I asked.
"They're outside, your future in-law's car picked us up. It became the talk of our neighbors. Your female in-law sent me home to bring you to the altar. She also gave me a job in their company so I wouldn't have to go back to another country. She matched the amount of my salary. Tell her that I won't accept her offer because I'm ashamed of them. I'll just go back to my job." So, Shiermy has already talked to my parents. I bowed my head, I'm not sure if I can do anything.
"I can't promise, Dad. I also talked to her about going back to my job, but she wants me to just work in their company so they can watch over me," I answered while bowing my head. Daddy sighed.
“Please be ready, the wedding ceremony will begin in five minutes, the organizer announced. Daddy and I couldn't talk anymore because we had already left the bride room. We went to the function hall together. The two staff members who would open the door were also ready. My hand was already linked to Daddy's arm. When they opened the door, Daddy and I slowly walked.
I could feel the guests looking at me. I looked at Desmond, who wasn't looking at me. I knew that at this time, he was thinking that the woman walking now was his girlfriend. I felt like I was the villain in their relationship. Anyway, what else is new? If they break up, it's because of me.
When I was only a few meters away from Desmond, he met me. He still paid respect to Daddy, which I thought he wouldn't do.
"Take care of my daughter and my future grandchild. Don't hurt her, son. If you don't want her, return her to us properly. We won't force you to support your future child," Daddy instructed him.
"I will," Desmond replied politely. I breathed a sigh of relief because somehow he was cooperative today. I also paid respect to Desmond's parents. I just saw Desmond's dad now because he also just arrived from a business trip.
"You're beautiful, hija," Desmond's dad praised me with a smile. I was embarrassed by what he said. Desmond looked at me, so I also looked at him, but he quickly looked away. Did he want to make sure if what his dad said was true?
Our wedding ceremony started, but we were both out of our minds. I still can't believe that I'm getting married. After this, I'm already a full-fledged Mrs. Velasquez. Maybe in the eyes of others, I caught a big fish, but they don't know what the payment will be when we live together.
"Heaven, you're being asked," Anica whispered to me. I looked at the priest and just bowed my head because I didn't hear what he said.
"I will repeat the question, do you accept this man to be your partner for life?" he asked me. I looked at Desmond, but he was just bowing his head as if he was also dazed.
"I do, father," I answered until Desmond was asked.
"I do," he answered blankly and coldly.
When we were about to exchange rings, I was looking at him. I swallowed when he looked at me while putting my wedding ring on me.
"I promise to love you and take care of you for life," he said as if we loved each other very much. I looked away because his gaze seemed to pierce my soul.
"You may now kiss the bride," the priest said. I swallowed. My first kiss. I just closed my eyes when he removed my veil and brought his face closer to me. I opened my eyes when I felt his lips touch the side of my lips. I breathed a sigh of relief. Anyway, what was I expecting? That he would kiss me for a long time?
The ceremony ended quickly. We were sitting next to each other while eating. I didn't look at him anymore because I was just looking at my family who were happily eating. All the food here, it's the first time we've tasted it, so they're surely very happy.
I looked at Desmond who was focused on his cellphone, so I stood up. I went to my parents.
"Heaven, the food here is so delicious," my youngest sibling said happily. I just messed up her hair.
"You're so beautiful, Heaven," Randy, my third sibling, praised me. I noticed that their clothes seemed to have been prepared.
"Did you spend a lot of money on what you're wearing?" I asked them. Mom smiled at me. The feeling that seemed to be blocking my chest disappeared. Are we okay now?
"Your mother in-law sent us what we would wear. She wanted to make sure that we looked presentable on your big day. I told her that we would take care of what we would wear, but she insisted that she would take care of it. She didn't want you to think that she neglected your family. Your in-laws seem kind, but if they mistreat you, come back to us," Mommy said to me gently. I couldn't help but cry. Mommy stood up to hug me. We're both crying now.
"When you become a mother, you will understand me. I'm just doing this for your good and the good of your future child, but if you're not happy, just come back to us," she added, which I nodded to. She broke away from hugging me, so we were just laughing.
"How are you here? Are you comfortable?" Mommy Shiermy asked politely.
"Yes, we're fine here. Thank you for inviting us," Daddy answered.
"You are the most important to Heaven, so you were the first ones I sent an invitation to. If you need anything, don't hesitate to say so."
"Thank you," Mommy answered.
