Maisie's POV

Three days before her sister Bela's wedding, Alexander and I had just finished fitting our outfits. The atmosphere in the boutique was lively with people preparing for important events. We exchanged glances, feeling a mix of excitement and panic clouding our thoughts.

The outfits we chose looked perfect, but the anxiety about Neo’s presence continued to haunt me. This moment was supposed to be a celebration, yet shadows of uncertainty lingered. Alexander tried to distract me with jokes, but I knew he felt the same weight.

Three days left, and everyone would gather to celebrate love, while I felt trapped in an uncertain situation.

“Is the outfit comfortable?” Alexander asked after we settled into the car.

I nodded. “It’s comfortable. I already noted the parts that didn't fit quite right; just small details.”

Even though the conversation felt light, thoughts of Neo crept back in. I tried not to let that worry disturb the mood. Alexander seemed more relaxed, trying to enjoy the moments leading up to the wedding.

Outside the window, the scenery rushed by, but our focus remained on our small talk. We shared stories about the wedding preparations, attempting to ease the tension that clung to my mind. Yet, in the corner of my heart, I knew the uncertainty about Neo still loomed.

I had to admit, Bela truly had a talent for fashion design. Her creations never failed to impress. Each of her collections was captivating, showcasing uniqueness and quality that was hard to match. It was no wonder La Belle Attire had many loyal clients from the celebrity world, who were usually picky about their clothing.

Bela's skill in designing clothes made her well-known. She had an ability to understand her clients’ tastes and needs, creating works that were not only aesthetic but also comfortable to wear. Every detail in each design showed her dedication to art and craftsmanship.

With the reputation she had built, La Belle Attire continued to grow. Loyal customers always returned, and many recommended it to their friends. It was a source of pride for us to see Bela’s success, even though my mind still lingered on unresolved issues.

Alexander mentioned a jewelry store to Angga, who was driving. My curiosity piqued when I heard about the plan.

“Buying jewelry?” I thought, weighing what was truly needed for the wedding. Of course, accessories could be the perfect complement for the special day.

As we drove to the store, I imagined various types of jewelry that could be chosen. Gold, silver, or perhaps something more colorful; all could add a touch of glamour. However, beneath the excitement, I still felt a bit restless, thinking about Neo’s still-mysterious presence.

Alexander nodded, noticing my distraction. He glanced at me for a moment before refocusing on the road.

I looked at the wedding ring on my finger, recalling the moment he gave it to me. “That’s true,” I thought, even though deep down, I felt I didn’t need any more jewelry than that. For me, the meaning behind that ring was far more valuable than any other accessory.

Still, the joyful atmosphere leading up to the wedding made me appreciate every moment, even with the lingering anxiety. “But I don’t really need it, though,” I said.

“I need it,” Alexander replied quickly. “You should look presentable in front of the other guests. Bela's family is old money, true socialites, so events like this can sometimes become a showcase for the attendees.”

“Oh, so you don’t want to lose out, huh?” I teased.

Alexander laughed at that. “You could say that. I want you to look your best on this special day.”

He continued, elaborating on how important appearances were at such events. Bela's family was indeed known for their glamorous lifestyle and strong social influence. Every detail, including clothing and accessories, was a focal point.

I nodded, realizing how serious Alexander was about this. Although it felt a bit excessive, his intention to make me look my best made me feel valued. Moments like this, although full of pressure, also strengthened our bond leading up to the wedding day.

Alexander smiled slightly. “You’re my wife, Maisie. You can be my strength and my weakness at the same time.”

I nodded in understanding. The responsibility of being a wife did indeed include maintaining Alexander’s image as best as I could. “Is there a guest list I should study like last time?” I asked, recalling the previous preparations that required me to recognize important guests.

Alexander nodded, as if he understood the significance of that. Knowing who would be present could help me feel more confident and ready to face the occasion. This moment was an opportunity to show that we were a solid couple, ready to tackle any challenges that might arise.

This time, Alexander and Angga chuckled softly. “More or less the same,” Angga replied from the front seat, adding a lightness to the atmosphere.

“Okay,” I responded lightly, feeling more at ease. If all preparations went smoothly like before, I was confident this party would be a success too.

With knowledge about the guests and support from Alexander and Angga, I felt more prepared to face the upcoming event. This was an important moment in my life, and I was determined to make it memorable, not just for myself but for Alexander as well.

Fifteen minutes later, we arrived at an elegant jewelry store. As soon as we stepped inside, the atmosphere felt luxurious. Alexander and I were directed to a comfortable room, where we were served delicious snacks and refreshing drinks.

While waiting, I looked around, captivated by the various pieces of jewelry beautifully displayed. Soon after, the store staff began preparing the catalog that Alexander had requested.

A sense of enthusiasm started to warm within me. I was curious about what we would find and how the jewelry could complement my look on this special day. This moment felt special, and I was grateful to share this experience with Alexander.

I was surprised by the treatment from the store employees. It felt very different from a typical shopping experience. The warm service and attention to detail made me realize how special this moment was.
