Chapter 85 SPECIAL CHAPTER 08
Chapter 85 SPECIAL CHAPTER 08
"Based on your reaction, it seems you're that woman. The woman who snuck into my room and seduced me that night."
Cedric watched the disbelief wash over Samantha’s face. He stood up, towering over her, and took a slow, deliberate step forward.
"Did I get you pregnant that night? Is that boy my son?"
"Fi-First of all, Mr. Prime Minister, I did not seduce you," Samantha stammered, still reeling from the realization that the man she had spent that fateful night with eight years ago was the Prime Minister of Romania. "I was drunk that night and I mistakenly thought your room was the one I was sharing with my friend. Why was your door even unlocked? And if I was the one who was drunk, why did you let anything happen between us?!"
"I’m a man, for God’s sake," Cedric countered, his voice dropping an octave. "A woman enters my room, lands on top of me, and kisses me. Did you really think nothing would happen?"
"I... I was the one who kissed you?!"
"Who else? You kissed me out of nowhere, and because I’m a man—"
"Stop!" Samantha cut him off, her face turning crimson. "You actually remember what happened eight years ago?"
Cedric stiffened, clearing his throat as he took a step back to regain his composure. "Just answer the question. Is that boy my son?"
"If I said no, would you even believe me?"
Despite her shock, a cold wave of fear began to settle in her chest. If he knew the truth, what would stop him from taking Spade away from her?
"Are you even sure I'm the only man you’ve ever—"
"Excuse me? If you have doubts, that’s your problem, not mine," she snapped, her eyes flashing with anger. "I don’t owe you an explanation. And for your information, I am not the kind of woman who sleeps around. Just tell the reporters you were joking about Spade being your son and—"
"We’ll find out the truth once the DNA results are in," Cedric interrupted, his tone final.
Samantha’s jaw dropped. "Wait... you ran a DNA test on my son without my consent?!"
"When I realized you were the woman seen leaving my room eight years ago, and I saw how much the boy resembles me—down to the food he dislikes and his allergies—I did what was necessary to be sure, just as Mihai suggested," Cedric replied coolly.
"That is a violation of privacy, Mr. Prime Minister! You had no right to take my son’s DNA!"
"So? Are you going to sue me?" he asked, his expression unreadable. Samantha went silent; the sheer power imbalance between them felt like a physical weight. "If the DNA proves Spade is my son, I have rights to hi—"
"No! You have no rights to my son!" Samantha cried out, her voice trembling as she fought back tears. "So what if you’re the father? I’m the one who carried him for nine months. I raised him, cared for him, and loved him for eight years! My son only wanted to know his father, but we aren't asking for your 'responsibility.' I won't allow you to take him!"
Panicked, Samantha bolted out of the room. She found Spade outside playing with Mihai, snatched him up into her arms, and began walking toward their house without looking back.
"Mama?"
"We're going home, baby," she whispered.
From the terrace of his grandmother’s house, Cedric watched them go, his eyes tracking their every step until they disappeared inside their home.
"Prime Minister," Mihai said, stepping up beside him.
"She said she won’t ask me to take responsibility," Cedric murmured.
"What is your plan, sir?"
"Let’s wait for the results first," Cedric said, his gaze fixed on the house across the street.
Inside her house, Samantha set Spade down. Her hands were shaking. She had thought that identifying the man from that night would finally satisfy Spade’s curiosity, but knowing that the father was a powerful world leader only filled her with terror.
"Mama, what's wrong?"
"Nothing, anak. Just go up to your room and rest, okay? Go on."
"But Mama... why did Uncle Pogi call me his son?" Spade asked innocently.
Samantha knelt and cupped his face. "Don’t mind what he said, okay? He was just joking. Go to your room."
Once Spade was out of sight, Samantha collapsed onto the floor, her legs giving way. "Oh my god... Why him? Of all people, why did it have to be a Prime Minister? What if he tries to take Spade away?"
Fumbling for her phone, she dialed Vladi’s number. It rang three times before he picked up.
"Hell—"
"Vladi, what am I going to do?! I can't lose my son!" Samantha cried out.
"Wait, what? What happened to my godson?!"
"Please, just come over... I can't think straight."
"You're scaring me, Sam. I'm on my way!"
An hour later, Vladi burst into the house. Samantha immediately locked the door behind him.
"What's going on? You're a nervous wreck! Where's Spadey? Is he okay?"
"What am I going to do, Vladi? He's going to take him."
"Who? Who is taking Spadey? Calm down before you give me a heart attack," Vladi said, pulling her onto the sofa.
"He knows," Samantha whispered. "He knows he's the father."
"What? You found him?! Who is he? How did you find out?" Vladi’s eyes were wide. "Wait, why are you crying? Isn't this what you wanted? Is he... is he handsome?"
"The Prime Minister of Romania is Spade’s father," Samantha sobbed. "He’s the man from eight years ago."
Vladi froze, his brain struggling to process the information. "What?! The handsome Prime Minister is Spadey’s dad?!" he shrieked.
"What am I going to do, Vladi?" Samantha cried, burying her face in her hands. "How can I fight a Prime Minister? If he decides he wants my son, what chance do I have?"
