Chapter 84 SPECIAlL CHAPTER 07
"Excuse me? My son is with your grandson—I mean, the Prime Minister?"
Samantha had just returned from a long day of wedding coordination. She had rushed through her tasks, eager to get home because she felt guilty about leaving her son with her elderly neighbor for so long.
"I wasn't feeling very well, hija," Aling Jacinta explained gently. "So I asked Cedric to take the boy with him to his appointment."
"Where did they go?"
"To the Summit Conference. It’s their final day today. I’m so sorry, Samantha," Aling Jacinta said.
Samantha shook her head, offering a reassuring smile. "You don’t need to apologize. I’m just worried that the Prime Minister won’t be able to focus on his agenda because of my son. I’ll go there myself and pick Spade up since I know the venue."
After thanking Aling Jacinta, Samantha hurried to her car. When she arrived at the hotel hosting the Summit, she noticed a swarm of reporters huddled near the entrance, whispering excitedly.
"Do you think that boy who was with the Romanian Prime Minister earlier is really his son?" one asked.
"We’ll find out when they come out. We need to get the scoop on this."
Samantha’s brow furrowed. His son? As she approached the entrance, the glass doors slid open and Cedric stepped out, carrying Spade in his arms. Their eyes locked instantly, and the reporters immediately went into a frenzy.
"Mama!" Spade called out happily, waving at Samantha. The reporters gasped.
"Spade—"
"Prime Minister Vasile, were you telling the truth earlier? Is that child your son?" a female diplomat asked as she hurried after them.
"He is," Cedric answered firmly. His eyes remained fixed on Samantha as camera flashes erupted all around them, and the reporters surged forward.
"So you have a son, Mr. Prime Minister? Are you even married?!" voices shouted over each other while hotel security struggled to hold back the crowd.
Cedric strode toward a stunned and confused Samantha.
"Mama!" Spade cheered again.
"W-what is going on—"
"Let’s get out of here first," Cedric interrupted. As his car pulled up to the curb, he pulled Samantha inside and climbed in after her, still holding Spade.
"Let's go, Mihai," Cedric ordered. They sped away, leaving the chaos of the press behind.
"What was that, Mr. Prime Minister?" Samantha demanded, her voice trembling with disbelief. "You told those reporters that my son is yours?"
Cedric looked at her with a chillingly calm expression. "You heard them. What’s the point of asking?"
"Are you freaking serious? Why would you claim Spade is your son when he isn't? His face is going to be all over the news! People are going to harass him because of a lie you told!" Samantha’s voice rose as she feared for her son's well-being. "Why would you say that?"
"What if he really is my son?" Cedric said, his voice dropping to a serious, low tone.
Samantha stared at him, her breath hitching. "Wh-what?"
"We will continue this conversation at my Baba’s house. For now, save your thoughts," Cedric said, turning his gaze to Spade, who was looking back and forth between them with innocent eyes.
"Spade, come here," Samantha said firmly. The boy immediately obeyed, moving from Cedric’s lap to sit beside his mother.
"If you are using my son for whatever political reason you have, leave him out of it," she warned, looking away and staring out the window.
The rest of the ride was tense and silent. Cedric stole occasional glances at the pair beside him. The thought plagued him: if Samantha was indeed the woman from eight years ago, Spade was undoubtedly his. But he wouldn't let himself believe it fully until the DNA results were in his hands.
When they arrived at the village, Samantha practically jumped out of the car, clutching Spade. "We’re going home—"
"No. We’re talking at my Baba’s house."
"What is there to talk about, Mr. Prime Minister? Whatever you told the reporters, just take it back."
"Do you think it’s that easy, Ms. Camnice?" Cedric asked as he walked toward the house.
"Ms. Camnice, please, just for a minute," Mihai added. Left with no choice, Samantha followed.
Inside, Aling Jacinta was staring at the television, looking troubled. "Samantha, hija... Cedric... what is the news saying about you?"
Cedric frowned and looked at the TV. They were already the lead story: Romanian Prime Minister Reveals Secret Son in Manila.
"Oh no... this is exactly what I was talking about!" Samantha snapped at Cedric.
"Are you yelling at me?"
"Why did you tell them he was yours? Now the press will never leave him alone!"
"Mama..." Spade whispered, confused by the tension.
"Apo, what is happening?" Aling Jacinta asked.
"Mihai, take the boy out for a moment," Cedric commanded.
Mihai bowed, gently took Spade from Samantha, and carried him out of the house.
"Baba, could you please leave me and Ms. Camnice alone for a moment?" Cedric asked his grandmother. She looked at Samantha, then nodded and retreated to her room.
Cedric turned off the TV and sat down on a single-seater sofa with practiced composure. "Have a seat, Ms. Camnice."
Samantha sat on the sofa opposite him, her mind a whirlwind of anxiety and anger.
"Why did you announce that he’s yours? It doesn't just affect your reputation; it affects my son. He’s been looking for his father, and you just gave him—and the world—a false hope. Mr. Prime Ministe—"
"What if I am his father?" Cedric interrupted, his eyes boring into hers.
"Mr. Prime Minister, this is a serious conversation!"
"I am being serious, Ms. Camnice."
Samantha stood up abruptly, her heart racing. "How? How can you possibly say you're his father?"
"You're that woman, aren't you?" Cedric said, his voice cold and steady.
"What do you mean?"
"Eight years ago. The Paradise Hotel. You were there. You're the woman I slept with, aren't you?"
Samantha’s eyes widened in slow, mounting horror. The blood drained from her face. "W-what? How could you..."
The realization hit her like a physical blow. The authority in the voice, the darkness of the room... "It was... you?"
Cedric watched her reaction, his suspicion turning into certainty. He stood up and walked toward her until he was standing directly in her space.
"Based on your face, it seems I’m right. You were the woman who stumbled into my room and seduced me that night." He leaned in closer, his voice a dangerous whisper. "Did I get you pregnant that night? Is that boy my son?"
