Chapter 56 GET THE AMBULANCE!!!

Chapter 56 GET THE AMBULANCE!!!
GET THE AMBULANCE!!!

“He is dumb, Camilla,” Alex said, his eyes locking onto hers.

Camilla just couldn't believe what she was hearing.

The revelation struck Camilla like a thunderbolt, leaving her reeling in its wake.

The man who had been stalking her and Alex for days, snapping pictures and invading their privacy, was actually unable to speak.

The thought was nothing short of maddening, driving Camilla to the brink of insanity.

Alex looked at her with a mixture of concern and amusement.

"Eh, it's okay, Camilla. I know you're surprised."

Camilla's expression turned incredulous.

"Is he...is he truly dumb? Is he really dumb?" she asked, her voice laced with scepticism.

Alex nodded solemnly.

"Yes, he is dumb, Camilla. I'm not kidding."

Just then, Camilla's eyes scanned the surrounding area, and she realised that the man was nowhere to be found.

"Where is he? Where is he?" she exclaimed, her voice rising in alarm.

Alex looked around, equally perplexed.

"I don't know. He was just here a minute ago."

Camilla's face twisted in frustration.

"He actually... maybe he escaped while we were talking shit!" she exclaimed, slamming her feet on the ground in anger.

“We need to find him,” Camilla said.

“But…” Alex replied.

“No, but even if I don't understand sign language, I have someone who understands,” Camilla said.

“Okay then,” Alex replied.

Camilla and Alex ventured into the bush, determined to find the mysterious man.

They combed through the dense foliage, their eyes scanning the surroundings for any sign of him.

Camilla pushed aside branches and leaves, her feet rustling against the dry underbrush.

Alex followed closely behind, his eyes scanning the trees and shrubs.

As they searched, the silence between them was palpable.

Camilla's mind was racing with questions—who was this man, and why was he stalking them?

Alex, sensing her unease, kept a reassuring hand on her shoulder.

They checked behind trees, under bushes, and in hidden clearings.

But no matter where they looked, there was no sign of the man.

It was as if he had vanished into thin air.

Camilla's frustration grew with each passing minute.

She had been so sure they would find him, that they would finally get some answers.

But now, it seemed like they were back to square one.

"I don't get it," Camilla said, throwing up her hands in exasperation. "We were just talking to him, and now he's gone?"

Alex shook his head.

"I know, it's weird. But we'll find him, Camilla. We just need to keep looking."

But as they continued their search, it became increasingly clear that the man was nowhere to be found.

They had searched every inch of the bush, and there was no sign of him.

Camilla sighed, her shoulders slumping in defeat.

"I guess we're not going to find him," she said, her voice laced with disappointment.

Alex put a reassuring arm around her shoulders.

"Don't worry, Camilla. We'll figure out what's going on. We just need to be patient."

But as they walked back to the location, Camilla couldn't shake the feeling that they were missing something.

That the man was still out there, watching them, waiting for his next move.

Just then, Alex's phone rang, breaking the tension.

He excused himself to answer the call, and Camilla could hear him talking to someone on the other end.

When Alex returned, he looked at Camilla with a sense of urgency.

"We need to get back to the location, Camilla. Dave is looking for us. They're about to start shooting."

Camilla's expression turned reluctant, but she knew she had to get back to work.

"Okay, let's go," she said, still fuming about the dumb man's sudden disappearance.

As they walked away from the scene, Camilla couldn't help but vent about the strange encounter.

"Can you believe that guy? He's just... poof... gone! And he's dumb, of all things!"

Alex listened patiently, trying to offer words of comfort.

"Don't worry, Camilla. We'll find out what's going on. But for now, let's just focus on getting through this shoot."

★

As soon as Alex and Camilla walked away, the man emerged from the bush, releasing a sigh of relief.

He had managed to evade them, at least for the time being.

He quickly started running out of the forest, his camera clutched tightly in his hand.

As he ran, the trees seemed to blur together, and his breath came in ragged gasps.

He didn't dare look back, fearing that Alex and Camilla might be hot on his heels.

Finally, he emerged onto the main road, where he quickly flagged down a taxi.

He yanked open the door and slid into the back seat, gasping for breath.

The taxi driver, a gruff-looking man with a thick beard, looked at him in the rearview mirror.

"Where to, young man?" he asked.

The man, still panting, used sign language to communicate with the driver.

To his relief, the driver understood him perfectly, nodding his head and putting the taxi in gear.

As they drove through the city, the man's thoughts turned to his destination.

He had to get to Lisa's apartment; he had to warn her about Alex and Camilla.

After what felt like an eternity, the taxi pulled up in front of Lisa's apartment building.

The man tossed a few bills at the driver and leapt out of the taxi, sprinting towards the entrance.

He knocked on the gate, and the gate man, recognising him, swung it open with a nod.

The man sprinted up the walkway, his heart pounding in his chest.

He knocked on Lisa's door, his fist pounding against the wood.

After a few moments, the door swung open, and Lisa's shocked face appeared in the gap.

"What are you doing here?" she exclaimed, her eyes wide with surprise.

But before the man could answer, his legs gave out beneath him.

He fell to the ground, his body crashing against the tile floor.

Lisa's eyes widened in horror as she realised what had happened.

"Oh my god, what's wrong with you?" She cried, rushing to his side.

The man's eyes fluttered closed, and he felt himself being pulled into darkness.

He was vaguely aware of Lisa's voice, calling out for help, but it was too late.

He had passed out, his body weakened by the beating Camilla had given him.

“Ben,” Lisa called out to her gateman, who rushed to meet her immediately.

“What happened to him?” Ben asked, staring at the dumb man's unconscious body.

“Get the ambulance!” Lisa screamed at the top of her voice.

“Ma?”

“Now!”
