Chapter 16 Movie Wreckers

Chapter 16 Movie Wreckers
Charles Winton had started his movie show in the darkness of his one bedroom apartment.

He was the typical college student—broke, hardworking, resilient, with dreams that were larger than life.

Charles spent all his time outside of the classrooms watching movies and reviewing them on his zero following YouTube channel.

He’d have indepth discussions of the characters and the plot, then try to interview the actors who played them.

At the beginning, the actors had turned down the interview requests from a perceived nobody. But many years now to the present, and it was a huge honor to actors being invited to his show to talk about their projects.

Daniel Kwon had managed to secure a spot for his upcoming movie with Adrian and Rowan because Charles was a big fan of his work.

He was also thrilled to be the first man to host the two known rivals in the industry. He woke up the morning of the interview giddy from how many views the actors were certain to pull in.

Everything had been scheduled and still Rowan and Adrian were running late because Adrian refused to wear the outfit that was prepared for him.

“This stuff is too…” he looked at the shirt that had so many flowers sewn into it. “It’s too feminine.”

“It makes sense for your character,” Rowan argued.

They were in the dressing room.

“Hate to break it to you Mr. Know it all, but I am not in character right now,” Adrian retorted.

They’d been going back and forth since they’d arrived on set. Even their assistants hadn’t been able to break off the heated argument between them.

“Don’t tell me you have a thing against feminine presenting men.” Rowan crossed his arms carefully over his chest, not wanting to crease his navy blue suit. “That would make you the most close minded person I’ve ever met.”

Adrian huffed, he wasn’t falling for it. “Then maybe we can exchange outfits since you’re as open minded as they come.”

“That won’t do Addy,” Daniel’s voice filled the room and everyone paused for a second. He had to leave the meeting he was in to deal with the two.

It was almost time for them to get on stage.

Rowan on the other hand raised a brow at him. Since when did he use pet names for Adrian? And who gave him the permission to do that?

“No one can pull this outfit off except you.” He put his hands on Adrian’s shoulder. “You know how to convey the power that’s found in softness.”

With a nudge he turned Adrian towards the mirror.

“Look…” His makeup was subtle but impeccable, glitters applied perfectly under his eyes. “It’s okay if you’re not comfortable wearing it, but remember that your character is not weak. And neither are you. It creates the perfect contrast with the outfit.”

Adrian looked at said outfit again with a pout.

The flowers were made to mimic stargazer lilies, while it was pretty it wasn’t Adrian’s first choice in clothing. He would’ve preferred to wear a normal suit like Rowan.

“Fine.” He finally gave in. “I’ll go change.”

Daniel beamed. “Thank you. We have ten minutes left.” Then he touched Adrian’s arm softly. “I’ll be counting on you.”

Rowan scrolled through his phone as he waited, almost dropping it when Adrian emerged.

The suit he wore was a soft, romantic pink. It was tailored to fit Adrian’s frame perfectly. But what had Rowan drooling were the lilies that’d been embroidered into the fabric.

Each of the petals were slightly raised so it looked like the flowers were blooming directly from the suit.

Adrian hesitated when he saw the look on Rowan’s face. “Keep whatever you want to say to yourself.”

Their assistants fixed their mics before they got on stage.

There was applause as they sat on the couch that was situated on the side of the stage.

Charles sat down behind a huge desk across from them. He couldn’t contain his excitement as he looked at the guests.

Cameras flashed from the other side of the stage. They were streaming live which made Adrian very cautious of himself.

“Welcome to the Movie Wreckers!” Charles announced, the sound of drums immediately following from the background.

“Here, we have the most talked about pair in the entertainment world!” He drumrolled with his fingers which earned him a laugh from the in-person audience that was off the stage.

Rowan noticed the way Adrian was bouncing his leg on the floor and immediately put his hand on Adrian’s thigh to keep him still.

He leaned in when Adrian turned to him with a puzzled look.

“There’s no need to be nervous, I’m right here.” He gave Adrian’s thigh a reassuring squeeze which the cameras immediately caught up on.

“Lets get started,” Charles picked up the cards that were on his desk. “I need to know…How did you go from being rivals to love interests? I mean, no one could’ve predicted this in a thousand years to come.”

The pair laughed, then gave their practiced answer.

“We’d auditioned for the role of the main lead at the time,” Adrian started. “Being his love interest was never in the books for me.”

“Likewise,” Rowan put in with a smile.

“Until my agent called and told me we were going to play the main couple. I was confused for a good one minute.”

Everyone laughed.

“I could’ve imagined the shock on your face,” Charles said, hitting the desk gently as he laughed.

“I was stunned into silence. To be honest I’d considered rejecting the role but I’ve wanted to work with Daniel Kwon for so long, I wasn’t going to let this guy ruin it,” he gestured to Rowan with his thumb.

It earned him another round of laughter.

Charles turned to Rowan. “What was it like for you?”

“It was…interesting,” he answered. “I saw it as a way to challenge and improve myself. If I can make this project with Adrian great, then I can do anything.”

Charles nodded. “You’re both very famous for your work ethic, we’re all happy to see that you put your differences aside.” Then he narrowed his eyes at them in a playful way. “Or is it just for the movie?”

The pair laughed, shaking their heads.

“I hope by the time we’re done filming and promoting,” Adrian said, “We’ll at least be friends that can hang out sometimes.”

Rowan nodded with a smile and moved closer to Adrian, their arms brushing together. “I’d like that very much.”

Fans all over the world were screaming because they were practically breathing the same air now. This was the closest any one has ever seen them.

“Moving on…” Charles looking at his card. “From the shoot alone, anyone can tell you have really good chemistry. How were you able to achieve that in such a short time?”

“By understanding each other’s boundaries and—” Rowan trailed off, noticing the panicked look in Adrian’s eyes. He had to distract him somehow, like he’d done during their dinner with his parents.

Rowan turned slightly, his entire body pressing against the length of Adrian’s and adjusted his collar.

“We had to learn a lot about each other,” Rowan continued as he fixed Adrian’s suit. “I think at the core we really respect each other as actors.”

Then he looked directly at the camera, his fingers grazing Adrian’s neck. “And you know…there’s only a thin line between love and hate.”

The audience cheered like crazy but Adrian couldn’t hear any of it over the rapid beating of his heart.
